  1. Velom 1/144 Fokker E.III Eindecker. First plane I've finished in about 10 years. Simple kit with minimal rigging. First plane I've rigged also. Yes, it's small. LOL

  3. Ray, are my eyes going that bad or does the car in your pic have 5 spoke Magnum 500 wheels on it? I thought all Mustang IIs had 4 bolt wheels.

  5. I think te should be OK for a windshield. The one from the new tool AMT '62 does fit pretty good. I did some time in a glass shop myself back in the late '80s but my thing was mostly upholstery, but I did do some glass too. Boss would never let a trainee touch a car like that though. ? But, is the rear window only curved on one plane or does it slightly bubble out like the windshield does ? , Kinda hard to tell from the pics I've seen.

  8. Keep in mind that the front wheel openings on the Foose truck were moved ahead also. But, yea, from the factory, the wheels did sit too far back in the openings on those trucks.   10. Yes, practice. And just going back and forth all the way across the length of the glass in one stroke. Light thin coats until you have it built up to the depth you want. I have tried the transparent blue, in fact, it's in my overall blue/green tint but I find it doesn't look dark enough for this. The X-3 , although a "solid" color, is transparent in lighter coats. But , of course, if someone wanted to use the transparent blue there's no reason why they can't. The X-3 is just a personal preference for me.

  13. I may have posted parts of this before but I thought I'd do a "how to" on it for those intrested. First airbrush your tintband across the top of the windshield. I use Tamiya X-3 royal blue for that. After letting the tint bands dry overnight I start applying some clear glosscoat to the inside of the windows. I mist this on for the first few coats so it won't pool up or run. You can't really see it in this shot but the clear is tinted with some transparent blue and green to simulate a "factory tint" colour when it's done. If you want a "smoke" tint use the Tamiya clear smoke instead of the clear with the blue/green mix. Just apply it in mist coats building up you'r darkness gradually until it's as dark as you want it. At this point it's still not very clear and doesn't look very good,,That's how it should be at this point. As you can see in this pic it still looks kinda grainy and dull. Now you can see how the colour is building up after a few coats of the tinted clear. Easier to see when you hold the piece up against white paper. When you get the darkness you want let it dry overnight again and shoot a couple coats of the regular [not tinted] clear acrylic. After you'r clear is completely dry you can polish it out like any other paint and it will be smooth and clear. Here's a couple finished sets ready to be installed. Since I did this set of pics I've started to double up on the tinted coats to make them darker. They looked pretty good in person but didn't show up well in pics. and here's the finished product.

  15. I'll take that bet. ,,, All in ,,, whole stash. Every kit in the house. I have a '61 built, a '62 I need chrome for, it was built custom, a '64 started, a '65 built full custom a '66 built a '67 I need the front bumper/grille for a '68 I could build now, The earlier ones do indeed have a shorter wheelbase. the chassis plates don't interchange between the earlier and later kits. So, yea. I'd take that bet. BTW, anyone have a front and reat bumper and grilles for a '62 and/or a front bumper for a '67?

  19. The windshield does fit pretty good. [just checked with my '63 hardtop] The rear window won't fit a hardtop as it's for a convertible. Oh, re-reading, I see you mean the glass from a '62 annual kit, not the newer roadster ,, yes, it will fit fine. I'd try giving it the old paint stripper bath, I use Easy Off myself. It won't hurt the glass. I've done it to strip paint off before. Wish we could still get vaccuformed glass from Modelhaus. I have a couple of that generation T-bird coupes I need rear glass for.
  20. Glad to finally have it done. She's been suffering with it for a couple years now and the operation was postponed twice. Wife and new hip are resting comfortably. ?
  21. The wheelbase changeover was in '64. '61 to '63 were 123" wheelbase. '64 to '69 were 126" wheelbase.
  22. I'd try some polishing compound. Might be able to rub it off with that.
