  1. Seen my first C8 about a month ago here in Fredericton. It was about the same blue I did my T/A in. Can't wait to see what you do with this one Izzy. I've always enjoyed watching your work.
  2. OK, here's an easy one for either AMT or Revell. , , AND it's a show that's on TV right now !! ?? All they'd need to add to the kit is the licence plates and a set of narrow white walls.
  3. Super cool. Incredibly clean chop on that top !! ?
  4. Looks great. Love those big old '70s cars.
  5. Those 1/32 kits have been reissued a bunch of times with different artwork. I'm afraid they're not especially rare, just not popular as anyone wanting a '63 T-bird would usually want it in 1/25 scale. As for value ,, hard to say. Definitely not what an AMT annual 1/25 would go for.
  6. OOPS,, sorry, just re-read the text and see it's actually blue,, still looks great !
  7. For a simple kit, they sure look good finished ,, especially in black. ???
  8. The '65 glass won't work, completely different. '62 Thunderbird windshield "might" fit. IIRC, they were the same glass on the real cars. '65 tail light lenses might fit, I used a set on a '64. They were changes made through the run of the body style including a wheelbase change so not all parts interchange. What parts besides the glass do you need? . . As a side note ,, I have a '62 I'm looking for front and back bumpers and the rear grille for if anyone has those parts they could trade.
  9. Eh, Looks close to me but what do I know. BTW, Old MPC '78 Vette body with Revell '68 Vette chassis/interior bucket, front wheels and tires on this mockup are what came in the Revell Baldwin Motion Vette. Same outside diameter as the tires in the 1/24 BelAir kit.
  10. These are the only ones I know of that has the spokes going all the way to the hub and bolt detail in the spokes. Model Car Garage has a couple different sets of wheel spinners, one set is the same as the ones in the pics. You'll just need to find decals for the spinners or just paint the center of then yellow.
  11. Closest ones I know of are in the old Monogram 1/24 '53 Chevy BelAir. The spokes go all the way to the hub but just not as many spokes and they're a bit shallow for the rears.
  12. I'm thinking an orange/peach kinds fade for mine Snake. I think I mentioned that in our e-mails. How about a full-on peach scheme? Classic "Jade Idol" green fade would look good. Light blue to dark purple is also another one I've been thinking might look good on one of these. But if I wasn't doing mine in orange tones, it would be organic yellow-green shades.
  13. Like the header says, this is gonna be a version of the custom Impala shown on the AMT '65 annual box art. Another "long term" project. I will also be taking a few libertys with the design along the way such as a chopped top and a few other little changes. I'm using an old forlorn Revell Impala given to me many years ago. The custom parts were generously donated by Snake. [Thanks again Snake ???] Not a lot of progress yet besides cutting off the front clip and glueing on the bottom 1/2 of the custom clip. The top 1/2 had to be narrowed slightly by making a couple relief cuts and glueing the gaps closed. Love the clear custom hood but I'd still like to have another one to paint along with the body so I could swap then around. So, if anyone has an old one they don't need in any shape, maybe we could work something out?
  14. Monty, read the lable real close ,,, does it say "by the makers" of HOK? If so, it's not real HOK paint, just some stuff Valspar cooked up to cash in on the name. They had so many complaints about the stuff they had to pul it off the market. ANYWAY,, either should work with good old lacquer thinner. That's all I've ever used with real HOK paint from Black Gold.
  15. I understand RMR resins has a lot of his old product but everything on their on-line catalog says "sold out". I'd try contacting then. I suspect they may be just casting when ordered but I"m not sure about that.
  16. Hang in there Carl. She'll be in our thoughts. Hopeing for the best.
  17. The wheels on the TV car are really cheap wheels. I remember back in the '90s you could buy then here in Canada for about 49.95 a peice. Less than 28 Pounds. LOL Summit Racing has them in their catalog now for $106 USD. for the 15 inch sizes. Still almost the cheapest aftermarket wheel you can get.
  18. Gareth, I hate to break it to you but that isn't the same kit Geoff,s building. He's building the newer tool hi-detail kit. This one is the old less detailed kit which originally dates back from the '60s. It's still a nicely proportioned kit and looks great when done but just not nearly as much detail.
  19. Yea, the trunk would be the big thing. But not really all that bad either. After you have the roof cut off, I'd cut a couple triangle shapes from sheet plastic to fill the gaps left in the trunk area. Reinforce them from below with more sheet plastic, putty and sand. Remember not to make it too flat. If it's flat, it will actually look slightly dished down when finished. An optical illusion. Be careful around the windshield, that frame is fragile as is and will be worse after the roof's cut off. Make a pair of sun visors from sheet stock and a simple boot for the convertible top and that's about it.
  20. Definitely easy to fix. Fill the trough , sand down the ridge or a bit of both.
  21. Love it ! I'm about to start a full custom using old AMT parts myself so I know how difficult that stuff can be.
  22. Here's a good shot from the Wikipedia page that shows the area well.
  23. There's a "trough" at the top of the 1/4 panels that shouldn't be there. It kicks up slightly before dropping off Instead of flowing out smoothly then dropping off as it should. The trough or kick-up is easily seen in these pics of your orange/red Camaro Here's a few shots of the area on the real cars,, Hopefully, at least one of these pics will be visible.
  24. Seems to me all that's needed is a little square of sheet plastic glued onto the bottom of the end cap and smoothed in. I can live with the rest of it.
