  1. I understand RMR resins has a lot of his old product but everything on their on-line catalog says "sold out". I'd try contacting then. I suspect they may be just casting when ordered but I"m not sure about that.
  2. Hang in there Carl. She'll be in our thoughts. Hopeing for the best.
  3. The wheels on the TV car are really cheap wheels. I remember back in the '90s you could buy then here in Canada for about 49.95 a peice. Less than 28 Pounds. LOL Summit Racing has them in their catalog now for $106 USD. for the 15 inch sizes. Still almost the cheapest aftermarket wheel you can get.
  4. Gareth, I hate to break it to you but that isn't the same kit Geoff,s building. He's building the newer tool hi-detail kit. This one is the old less detailed kit which originally dates back from the '60s. It's still a nicely proportioned kit and looks great when done but just not nearly as much detail.
  5. Yea, the trunk would be the big thing. But not really all that bad either. After you have the roof cut off, I'd cut a couple triangle shapes from sheet plastic to fill the gaps left in the trunk area. Reinforce them from below with more sheet plastic, putty and sand. Remember not to make it too flat. If it's flat, it will actually look slightly dished down when finished. An optical illusion. Be careful around the windshield, that frame is fragile as is and will be worse after the roof's cut off. Make a pair of sun visors from sheet stock and a simple boot for the convertible top and that's about it.
  6. Definitely easy to fix. Fill the trough , sand down the ridge or a bit of both.
  7. Love it ! I'm about to start a full custom using old AMT parts myself so I know how difficult that stuff can be.
  8. Here's a good shot from the Wikipedia page that shows the area well.
  9. There's a "trough" at the top of the 1/4 panels that shouldn't be there. It kicks up slightly before dropping off Instead of flowing out smoothly then dropping off as it should. The trough or kick-up is easily seen in these pics of your orange/red Camaro Here's a few shots of the area on the real cars,, Hopefully, at least one of these pics will be visible.
  10. Seems to me all that's needed is a little square of sheet plastic glued onto the bottom of the end cap and smoothed in. I can live with the rest of it.
  11. I've had this model since the late '70s. Originally it was given to my cousin Rocky when he was first hospitalized with juvenile diabetes around '78. He gave it to me after he built it with lots of glue. I rebuilt as best I could back then but decided to give it another go in the '90s. Rocky was a couple years younger than me but we were raised close and were like brothers growing up and until he passed a few years ago from complications from the diabetes. I cleaned up the body and repainted it with nail color but it kept "frosting up" for years. I had this problem with a couple models I used Revlon nail polish on back then. Every time I'd clear coat it and polish it out it would come back a month or two later, So, back in the box it went. I didn't have a good set of chrome or glass for it so didn't think a lot about it. Not too long after he passed the kit was reissued so now I have what I needed to do a proper job on it. So. I checked the paint last spring , wet sanded it and gave it another coat of clear and it seems to be holding up well this time. Glass and foil done now and working on the chassis and engine.
  12. Nice update. Too bad they didn't correct the rear 1/4 panels while they were at it.
  13. That's neet. My 1/1 '76 was to be painted that same color but I traded it for a '69 Riviera before I finished the body work. So the Riviera got the gallon of Plum crazy instead.
  14. I'll second the Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias stuff. Seen a couple standup shows and the 2 seasons of his sitcom. Russel Peters is also very funny. Also "The Ranch" was good if you don't mind the language. If you want to see what rednecks look like on my part of the planet watch "Trailer Park Boys". The show was made about 5 hours from here and I actually know people just like Ricky and Julian, unfortunately. Canadian and US Netflix don't always have the same shows though
  15. If,, "IF" ,, the cab is cast thin as the original, the glass and interior from any AMT or MPC kit of that same generation truck should drop right in.
  16. Looks good Jeremy. I like the color combo too ,, in fact, my next '72 is going the same combo. ???
  17. That looks like it was cast directly from an original '67. The tail lights never were very accurate on those kits. They should be higher in the 1/4 panel with the extra height added to the red lens. The current Revell '64-'66 Chevy pickup chassis is pretty correct for this generation pickup and the cab drops right on if you just cut the front bumper mounts from the frame. The Revell kits are short box trucks so you'd need to stretch the chassis about 1/2 inch or shorten the box. Yea, that tail gate looks newer than it should. The original kit and promo had a plain tailgate with the CHEVROLET letters raised. that should have been set in. On the last one I built, I cut the letters section from a Revell '64 fleetside tailgate and grafted them into the newer tailgate.
  18. Hey Snake, this engine look familiar? The rest of the chassis is from the TD kit too.
  19. That's great and too long for me to bother reading again but we're talking about model kits here. The difference in the grilles is that the original poster's grille is from an MPC kit and the one in mine is a Modelhaus copy from an AMT promo If you look at an original AMT '69 or '70 promo you will see they fit poorly and are missing the outer trim strip also. I'm sure you are 100% correct about the real trucks but these are not all that accurate to have that difference. BTW, that truck was made from an AMT '72 GMC stepside kit. The exact same cab that's been in the last few issues of the '72 Chevy longbox.
  20. Sorry, here's the right one. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1980-85-cadillac-seville-25-tkm-1786275403
  21. Agreed ,,, beautiful car.
  22. The Seville is actually one of TKMs better offerings ,,, but it's still c.r.a.p. I'd view it as a start, the body looks pretty good proportion wise. But that's about it. Here's a link in case the pic dosen't work. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/tkm-resin-1994-cadillac-eldorado-body-406190134
  23. Pretty sure that particular car was proven fake. But if you want one I can do the surgery if you can provide the raw material. ?
  24. Surprised no one has mentioned it yet. It's been almost a week so anyone who had "taped" it probably would have watched it already. A couple of the team get stuck in 1982. One's mourning the loss of his parents and spends his time building car models. If you remember the '80s the whole episode's a lot of fun though as it's basically a "love letter" to the decade.
