When I went to drill holes for the hoses in the front of the engine I found that there's no place to put them. So, I sanded the front of the engine flat and added the front of an MPC 440. Not the cleanest work I've done but it's gett'n done.

Better put on your steel toe boots Steve, 'cause construction season's begun. ?‍♂️ I'm using the Cragars from the Revell '67 Charger. Seemed a touch large. When I checked the diameter I found it to be 17 mm That would work out to be about a 16inch wheel. I'm OK with that. Also started on the bodywork with filling the hole in the hood. Drilled out the headlights and had the bumpers replated a couple months ago.

Check old custom tail light lenses. Some should have ribs like that. Without looking, I'd check the AMT '69 Riviera. IIRC, the custom lens is large enough to carve several from and may have the same ribs.

Well,, since the custom Chrysler is almost done and the damaged bumper is off to the plater, a new project is in order. Steve G thinks it's a good idea so I'm starting on mine also. Mine won't be as detailed as his. I'll be using the kit chassis plate and such but I hope it will still be interesting and fun. I'm thinking light sage green pearl with light beige and sage interior. Cragar S/S with narrow white walls dropped low. Maybe some Bellflower pipes??

I like Honeycomb But seems they didn't learn anything from the "New Coke" fiasco. The stuff was awful. not only did they change the taste but the color , size and even texture. It was bloody awful. ? In fact, there was such a big backlash that this happened,, Still not quite there but almost as good as it was. But then again, Coke never really was the same again either, was it?

Vachon makes the poison of choice here in Canada. Remember the big "red velvet cupcake" fad a few years ago ? We've had those forever. Jos Louis cakes are red velvet with vanilla cream covered in chocolate. The Canadian version of a Twinkie ? ,, But Vachon does make and sell Twinkies here for a few years now , can't say as I've ever seen anyone eat one though. I like these best myself though.

I was given a built one many years ago. Identical to the Monza kit except for the Skyhawk scripts. I've never seen an unbuilt one either.

Thanks Carl. The car's almost done and I'll finish it up while the bumper's out. Just need to permanently attach the chassis plate to the body and finish up under the hood. I checked and I will still be able to attach the bumper after everything else is done so no worries.

Well,, she's on hold again. Not because of flooding this time at least. While gluing a couple mounting tabs to the back bumper, I smeared lacquer thinner on it. So, stripped and back off to Dale to be replated ,, again. Including the initial replating after the seam and guard removal this will be the third time I've had to have this bumper redone.

BTW, I was just mess'n around with an old '72 cab and interior and a built Revell '66 stepside I bought at a show last year. After cutting the front bumper mounts from the Revell frame, the '72 cab dropped right on like it was made for it. Maybe I'll take a couple pics tomorrow and post them. , , but you know, this seems to be leading up to me building another truck. ?

Ya never know. My T/A was sitting in similar conditions almost as bad as that for 15 years and we got it back up, running and looking good. It did take quite a bit of work though.

I still have a sealed one. I'd be open to an interesting trade , , , IF you're not scared of trading with a Canadian.

Look'n good Kurt. And, yes, that grille is a copy of the MPC part. The AMT one has the bumper molded to it, which could have easily been cut off before the mold was made BUT, the AMT part is missing the outermost trim strip around the outside of the part. Here you can see the difference on the one I used on my truck. It's a copy of the AMT part with the bumper separated and the headlights done. I hadn't noticed at the time but now that I know, I can't not see it.

Very nice build, way beyond what I can do. and under the hood looks better than my real '85 F-body. The center bolt valve covers and heads didn't come along until '87 though.

The engine's almost done ,, just needs a little cleanup and a bracket for the alternator.
