Fenton Super Shark wheels
Can-Con replied to catpack68's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree ,, Like I said, Probably the closest he'll get without having a set of Sharks custom printed. -
Fenton Super Shark wheels
Can-Con replied to catpack68's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These are from Scenes Unlimited. They're copies of the Cragar G/Ts from the MPC Mopar kits I mentioned above. -

They're actually supposed to be Cragar G/Ts. They're in some MPC Mopar annuals from about '68/'69 BUT, I think they're about as close to Sharks as you're gonna get short of having them custom printed. BTW, the wheels in the MPC late '60s Impalas, though looking the same strait on, are actually dished, not raised like the Sharks and Cragars. The ones in the '70s Impalas were actually Cragar S/S. -
Can't wait to see what you do with this one John. I know it won't be just polished plastic and foil. ??

CHROME plating, plater, outsource company (2020)
Can-Con replied to 89AKurt's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Greg, maybe you should try to get in touch with Louis Bernier. He was "Chrome+" out of Quebec. Since he moved several years ago he hasn't been plating. Maybe he'd sell his equipment . His e-mail, if you'd like to try contacting him is chromeplus@hotmail.com -
looks great. That is such a nice old kit.

1969 Beaumont front bumper/grille
Can-Con replied to Maindrian Pace's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed

Those engines were based off the early Buick aluminum V8s, not Chevy so it looks about as much like a Chevy 350 with two cylinders lopped off as a V8 Ford or Mopar would.

Yea, you can tell it's a copy of Perry's because it has a glaring mistake carried over from it. The front of the hood and bumper is way too flat. It should have about the same amount of angle to the center as the Monogram '70 does. R+R resin also did a copy with the same mistake. He's also been out of business for years ,, passed away. If it were me, I'd use the chassis from the AMT '69 442. Much better detail plus poseable front wheels. The new Revell '68 Chevelle chassis would also be a good choice with great detail. The only Buick engines out there of this generation are from the Monogram '70 GSX which is a 455 and 1/24. Wrong valve covers and a bit large for 1/25. The other choice is from the AMT '69 Riviera. Right scale plus slightly undersize so it looks like the 400 under the hood plus it has the correct valve covers.

1969 Beaumont front bumper/grille
Can-Con replied to Maindrian Pace's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I haven't even started it yet. After the first burst of interest it took me over 3 months to get my hands on a new body to work on and by that time no one had mentioned it again. SO, I guess I should start working on it again after I finish the car I'm working on now. It'll have the front and back ends and dash. -
TV "Star"cars that never were kited
Can-Con replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Anyone remember "Burn Notice"? ,, No, not Fiona's Hyundai ,,, I was thinking something more along the way of Michael's Charger. Round 2 could easily do it by reissueing the old MPC "Super Charger" with an extra hood and a set of Magnum 500 wheels. Bonus points if they correct the wheel openings. -
Moves like his dad when he sings too. I prefer his solo stuff more. I have 2 of his albums, can't find a copy of his first one. It seems to be pretty rare. Anyway, here's 3 of his I really like.

Hey, 40's not so bad. I turned 55 yesterday. But, yea, I can usually guess a person's age pretty close by their taste in music.
