Got the body painted and polished out. '69 Pontiac limelight green from Scale Finishes with Testors lacquer clearcoat. Went through a bit on a couple high spots but I'm pretty happy with it and I'm not gonna mess with it. Left the roof without clear to simulate the vinyl on the roof.

That would make it a '77. MPC, like the actual car maker , would have the kit available a few months before the actual model year. That's one of the reasons some mistakes would crop up with their kits.

Simple resin curbside I did about 15 years ago. The green is custom mixed and the woodgrain is handpainted.

Thanks Steve. I don't think I'm farther along as much as I'm just working on different parts of the car than you are. I haven't even touched the interior , engine or chassis yet.

So, the bodywork is done. There should be a small ridge down the raised section of the hood where I filled the hole but I don't think anyone will miss it when the car is done. It's been sealed with BIN and has it's final coat of primer. I also foiled the lettering on the fenders and trunk lid. They'll be cleaned off before I shoot the color. The headlights are also done. Used a couple drops of Tamiya smoke to bring out the details. The glass is cleared, polished and ready for installation. Hopeing to get it in paint by the end of the weekend.

I had what I think is the first version of that kit. Molded in red, almost snapped together but lots of details for Revell at the time. Yes, dark tinted glass though, which was in a lot of Revell kits back then, late '70s/early '80s. The tires on mine were a rubbery vinyl though, not solid plastic but they'd only fit the kits wheels. they did look good though. Wide Pirelli P-Zeros. Get a can of "Goof Off" from the hardware store ,, pretty well the same stuff. Persanally, I'd just go over it with some rubbing compound.

Why not use the body from one of the AMT Ford vans that are on the market right now? If you need a longer wheelbase body you could easily graft two together.

I think Jason's right on this Chris. That's definitly the Revell 1/25 Yenko Camaro. Mistakes like that happen all the time.

Hi Chris. Looking at that White Lightning body, I'd say it's supposed to be an '87 GTA body. Same ground affects package as my 1/1 '85 T/A but it lacks the vents in the front fenders behind the wheel openings.

That turned out great. I always suspected someone with the skills could make a fine looking model out of that old dog of a kit and you proved that right there. ???
