OK, so, back on this one. Been working on the interior, Painted the dash and steering wheel in a darker fuchsia and flocked the floor in a matching color I mixed up. The seats and arm rest are not glues down, just sitting there for the pic. Also, I cleaned up the paint that bled under the masking tape since I took these pics. I also worked on the inner fenders a bit. Since these have indents like some other older AMT kits, I cut some pieces of sheet plastic to cover them and puttied them up and will smooth them off.

I have one of the Hasegawa kits, I'll measure the bumper and post a pic for you later today but I'm pretty sure they'll fit.

Turned out great, Tom. Love the color and vinyl roof. When you say it's "similar to one he had", I assume you mean a model and not a real 1/1 Eldorado.

Right you are. I just checked my builtup copies, there's 3 very fine vertical stripes in the grille sections, easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

You used to see a lot of those mid-size Gm cars on Blazer frames back then. I remember a particular '66/'67 GTO like that around here. Strange since pre-1970 Pontiac A-bodies weren't even sold in Canada. I think it may have been a quick and dirty way of dealing with all the rusted out frames on them. I had a '70 Skylark Custom convertible that the frame went to powder right at the kick-up in front of the rear axle.

Don't know if you're aware or not but aside from the Skyhawk scripts and Buick emblem on the nose, which are all so faint they'll be lost after a couple coats of primer and paint, the kit is identical to the '75-'77 or so Chevy Monza annual kits.

I use a very fine detail brush and clean up the edges with a toothpick as I go.

Except for those front fender flares being molded to the body with nothing behind them. You can easily cut them off but building up the section of fender in front of the wheel opening isn't exactly "easy". I'm used to doing major bodywork on customs and I'd think at least twice before attempting it.

OK this might be a stupid question but with all the talk of Model King and Pegasus in the last pages, will this kit be available to us here in Canada at our local hobby shops?

Nice to see the body parts line up so well. I have an old '65 Elky body and plan to do the same conversion eventually.

Finally got it done up yesterday evening. It's the very old MPC kit from the '60s that I was gifted from Steve-O many years ago. Basically a reasonably simple rebuild. Stock body, no mods. The rear door window area was pretty damaged so the rear doors were replaced courtesy of Steve Curbishly who sent me a replacement pair. I lowered the suspension by swapping the axles from below the springs to above and trimming some material from the spring mounts. I widened the stock wheels and shaved the spokes for a better look. Engine is the OHC Pontiac 6 from the MPC '69 Firebird kit built stock with plug wires added. Paint is Duplicolor GM Cordova brown metallic. All chrome was redone with Revell spray except the front bumper which I did with BMF to see how much difference there would be. The Revell Shelby Series 1 has an Olds Aurora version of the Northstar engine. Don't know if that helps any.

This pic was taken 20 years ago. The white was regular Testors bottle white, notorious for turning yellow after a couple years. It's clear coated with Tamiya bottle clear X-22 thinned with isopropyl alcohol. The white is still as bright today as when it was painted, not a hint of yellowing.
