  1. Been working on the frame mods. I "Z-ed" the back 1/2, removed the spare tire and made a new rear crossmember. First I cut the frame apart on the diagonal, using the crossmembers as reference points to make the cuts the same on both sides. The place where I cut was very thick. Gives me lots of gluing area but the drop would have been more then I wanted so I carefully cut a couple scale inches out of the diagonal so it would give me a more modest drop when glued back together. Then the 2 parts fit snugly back on top of each other and I added a couple small squares of sheet plastic to strengthen the joint. Compared to the old frame in black, you can se this gives me about a 6 scale inch drop and I could easily still use the stock rear axel and springs if I wanted. But I'll be using the C4 Vette rear end from the AMT '34 Ford hotrod under the back of this one. Planned ride height when finished
  2. Sorry I had to post it as a response to your message Brian. At the time I got the "oops, that page can't be found" message every time I tried to post that as a separate comment. It was the only way it would go through. 🤨
  3. Few Sprues Loose LLC does the Dodge grilles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/375676738581?itmmeta=01JHDEP2D32TQ4A0GK27J689K8&hash=item5778141c15:g:X40AAOSw82Bm--aU
  4. I kinda make mine like in the video but I use then sheet plastic rough cut to shape, stacked with each second piece set in slightly then sand it to final shape.
  5. If you mean under the hood, Steve, no. It was done years ago with Alclad. It's actually very durable and safe from fingerprints if you put it away and let it dry for several years.😉😁
  6. Thanks again, everyone. Now that I'm feeling better I'll add some info,, The paint is HOK candy root beer over, IIRC, a sandy gold metallic base. It's been over 10 years since I had painted it so some details are a bit fuzzy. Basic engine, under hood details and front suspension parts are from the AMT '57 Chrysler 300 with the fuel injection setup from the AMT '53 Ford pickups optional hemi. Wheels and tires are from the Revell '57 Chevy snap kit. I just got lucky with the foil coming out as good as it did. Never did anything different then I usually do. Hope everyone has s great 2025. 🙂
  7. The way the interior panels and frame rails are laid out to me suggest that it will be easy to modify the kit into a pickup with either 2 or 4 wheel drive in the future. Also it looks like it will be easy to delete the Blazer side windows for future pickup releases. Also the 4 smaller headlight lenses for the upmarket grille. I know a lot of you guys are looking forward to a more "mainstream" civilian Blazer kit but the way this is all engineered, I'm looking a little farther ahead.
  8. FWIW, I think you're right about no one noticing the difference in the decals. We here are "The Lunatic Fringe" and notice such things, 90% or more people who are , lets say, "not as invested" as us would never know the difference.
  9. I'll have to try that later Bill. Thanks.
  10. Don't seem to have a problem in other threads though. "Strange thing" that it's only that thread. Keeps saying page can't be found.
  11. How having the same "page can't be found" message as Daniel when I try posting in the Stranger Things Blazer thread.
  12. Don't seem to have a problem in other threads though. "Strange thing" that it's only that thread. 🤔
  13. Hood and grille are different. IIRC, the seat sew patterns are too but not sure. , , Hey, you asked.
  14. I'm bett'n Revell will be in the near future as a carry-on from the "Stranger Things" Blazer seeing the way the kit frame was layed out.
  15. Those old Revell '57s always had a strait axel gasser front end included as an option, I can't imagine they would have blocked of the runners for it as it's still in the hardtop kit.
  16. They are raised on the seating surfaces. I'm pretty sure those seats are from am old Revell van kit. I won't be using any of that interior on this build.
  17. Yea, I think I remember Bob telling me it's from the very early '80s. I think he'd approve of what I have in mind. ,, and he came off as a bit of a "sour apple" himself sometimes but he was a great guy when you got to know him.
  18. Started in depth on this one today. The truck was gifted to me by a friend who passed a couple years ago. Sat in limbo until now as I'm missing the stock bumpers, which another friend may have a set to replace them. As you can see, she's a bit rough. So far I've done a bit of cutting and a mockup with the wheels and tires to check the planned stance. Going with the fleetside bed as it will be 2-tone with the chrome trim separating the colors. Looks like all I'll be using from the original kit will be thee cab.
  19. Yea, that's Canada Post. The rules were changed a few weeks before they went on strike but they weren't as strict about listing everything in the box separately . They didn't get their way with the strike and were ordered back to work so now they're doing everything strictly "by the book". Just think, some kits have upwards of 1000 parts. Great fun. I think this will make Canada Post virtually unusable for parcel mail. No one's gonna want to go to that much extra effort just to send a model somewhere.
  20. Thanks everyone. starting to feel better now.
  21. It's knee deep in those videos on YouTube. They all have the header "First Look: 2015" or some version of that but it's all AI fantasy. Some of them look pretty good though.
  22. Um, Pretty sure it's Quebec north of Maine, Ken We're east of Maine. 😉
  23. Feeli'n kinda under the weather right now so I'm just posting some pics for now.
