  1. Thanks everyone. Future plans call for verticle taillights and a fade paintjob in blues or aquas. Not decided on a hemi or B-block engine yet. Leaning toward the B just to be different and not use a hemi.
  2. I actually started cutting on this one about 2 years ago but it was a "between projects project". I'll be working on it more now though . Top has been chopped about 2 scale inches. The front end is almost done. Still have to start on the rear end with the custom tailights. Here's some pics. Here's the body with a stock one behind it to show how much the top has been chopped. A mockup with Pegasus wheels and tires. This is about where the ride height will be when finished. The start of the custom front end with the pancaked hood and extended headlight surrounds. The headlight bezels are from a Revell '59 Chevy, cut from the grille and filed down to fit the openings. And here's the front with the headlights blended into the fenders and primed.
  3. Pretty sweet wagon. Looks a lot better than the 1/1 my boss used to have. LOL
  4. I've been following along with your build. Just fabulous !
  5. I really like how it sits. and a nice simple solution to lowering the front suspension. Very classy.
  6. Well. The 1/1 cars have a rather wide black bezel around each headlight which I just painted on the lens. I also added a bit of Tamiya smoke on the tops and clear blue on the bottoms to simulate a reflection of the road and sky.
  7. The current MPC.
  8. Beautiful work !. Just love the color. I hope you don't mind me mentioning it but your valve covers are on upside down and one of the heater hoses should go to the back of the engine about where you have the ignition coil ,, but of corse, that's an Olds engine anyway, not a Caddy.
  9. Looks great. If it had red in the side trim it would look just like the first car I can remember my dad having.
  10. The red one is now finished and posted in the "under glass" section.
  11. This is the first of the three I'm doing. Simple curbside style builds, looks over detail.
  12. Kevin, was that kit open when you got it? I'm asking because I thought all the earlier issues of this kit had the proper hood and they didn't get switched until the RC2 reissues. Anyway, all the early issues of the '69 I had included the correct hood.
  13. I don't know guys. I can't see anyone retooling a Nova into a Ventura unless the parts are readily available and the changes reversible. The Pontiacs just don't have the name recognition the Nova does. [in the name of full disclosure, I owned and loved a 1/1 '79 Nova]
  14. How about the ones in the AMT '32 roadster? Pretty close too and quite deep. Best shot I can find right now.
  15. Thanks JC, that's the pic I was trying to post.
  16. "Barnabus vampire van". It would need a new body
  17. Thanks Bill. I should have known that as I've done it before too. Duh.
  18. Title should be self-explanatory but not just Fotki but any other websites as well I can only attach pics from my computer now .
  19. Yea, Like I said, the Toro and Eldorado kits used the same chassis and engine. The same engine was also used in thier '68-'70 442s but with a different driver's side exhaust manifold and front cover. BTW, how the heck are you guys posting pics now? I can only post directly from my computer, not the internet such as fotki etc.
  20. Yup. Only thing changed on the kits were the body to become a Nova and the related parts on the chrome tree. Same chassis, same engine, same clear parts.
  21. The engine and chassis in all the JoHan Toros from '66 to '72 were exactly the same.
  22. Power steering pump.
  23. JoHan Olds Toronado engine. The concave intake and turner-up driver's side exhaust are the giveaways. Could also be thier Caddy Eldorado engine. JoHan just used the Toro engine in the Eldos instead of tooling uo a proper engine since the Toro and Eldo kits shared all the other chassis and underhood parts.
  24. Thanks guys, I can't take credit for the color or wheels though. It's a replica of a 1/1 I built up for a fellow club member. The chassis is just a one peice promo style with no engine
  25. Can-Con

    '63 Falcon

Pretty simple resin kit. Not one of the better resin casters though. Lots of clean up and surface prep. [still a bit rough in a couple spots]
