  1. Paquin was born in Winnipeg. She just spent her childhood in New Zealand then moved to L.A. She was only in N.Z. for about 9 years so I'd imagine it'd be pretty easy to slip back and forth between accents. Kind of the opposite of Amanda Tapping from Stargate. Born in England but brought up in Toronto. If you ever seen "Sanctuary" which she also starred in, she affects a flawless British accent on that show.
  2. I couldn't actually figure out exactly he did mean with that sentence. " your list should be considered that any of your choices are all mib examples, sealed or not, but totally mint and complete" Kit's we own that are mint and complete, not gluebombs, not started? Although I have some of the kits that have been named such as the '67 and '68 Bonnnys, '71 Cyclone, '69 Elky, '69 G.P., none of them are MIB.
  3. I haven't seen anyone mention it yet but I noticed in a couple pics ftom NNL East that Round2 had a display with the Squad Rod kit being announced as being rereleased . I already have a couple '79 Novas but one is a glue bomb and the other, although unbuilt, is missing the chrome tree. The E-bay seller didn't mention that fact in the auction and there was a couple peices of chrome scrap in the box making it look like the chrome was in there. Anyway, I expect it will be a strait reissue of the police car kit with a radar unit and arsenal of firearms included. IIRC, exact same police parts as included in the "Joker Goon Car" and other variations of the Monaco kit. The body is a hatchback coupe and a lot more accurate than the AMT kits and looks excellent when finished. I owned a 1/1 '79 Nova coupe for many years and can say the body is spot-on. The front and rear bumper, grille/headlight unit and tailights are all on the chrome tree. Also included is a custom front air dam and rear spoiler. The rest of the kit, on the other hand isn't quite as correct as it could be. Most of the parts are hold overs from the '75/'76/'77 Pontiac Venture Sprint kit so the engine dosen't look much like a small block Chevy. The interior isn't much better. The dash and upholstry pattern was never updated from the first version of the Ventura. Close but not 100% for a '79 Nova. Chassis is a plate with seprate rearend/ehaust system peice, seprate front lower A-arms and uprights with metal axel on rear and plastic pins in front . Almost exactly the same setup as the '79 TransAm kit. Stock 6 slot rallye wheels and 5 slot mags similar to the Dodge LRE pickup wheels are included. There are some street machine parts included. The engine, although more Pontiac than Chevy has the stock 4bbl setup with stock air cleaner or duel 4bbl setup, and stock Chevy exhaust manifolds or headers. The basic engine looks more like the parts in the recently reissued '79 Pontiac TransAm though.
  4. Here's a rare one for you. But I doubt it counts as it's a conversion. I have seen a couple hardtops built but mine is the only convertible I've ever seen.
  5. Yea, they closed that call centre down about 5 years ago. It was only open for 10 years ,, surprisingly, the same annount of time the government incentives lasted. Funny how that works, Eh?
  6. Funny thing is, if you ever watched any science fiction TV or movies, including anything made by Marvel, chances are it's made in Canada. Avis/Budget car rentals even had a call center here in Fredericton for about 10 years. Their thinking was because our accent is indistinguishable by most US citizens from what they consider "American", it would be better accepted by the customers than a "foreign" accent..
  7. Then you wouldn't be able to tell I'm Canadian then Harry. That "oot and aboot" thing is regional, central Canada mostly. Also, you wouldn't believe how many rural people around here affect a southern U.S. sounding accent, You'd think some of them were born and raised right next door those those Duke boys.
  8. completely different shape.
  9. Sorry about that Split Enz thing, my only excuse is it was 1:00 AM here and I had a couple adult beverages. I know a couple Auzzies and Kiwis, so I am aware that they do not like to be confused with each other ,, kinda like Americans and Canadians. Sorry.
  10. And I have almost all Split Enz' albums.
  11. Cold Chisel
  12. and my fave,,
  13. red gum
  14. Goanna
  15. Wow, you must have been right on top of that post Luc, I don't think it was even 5 minutes before I found the correct spelling for Hasagawa and corrected my mistake.
  16. Satco mainly reissued various Japanese kits so I'd bet it was just a rebox of the Hasegawa curbside kit.
  17. Pretty close there Ace. The hood, side marker lights and rear pan is different too. Not sure on the sew patterns on the interior but I'll post a pic so someone can compare it to a '71. [BTW, I added clear headlight lenses to this one]
  18. The story I've always heard is all the open panels made the body quite prone to warping so they had to close them up.
  19. I recognise that guy ,, he used to be a regular on "Ancient Aliens".
  20. Pretty well the only Zep songs the local rock station play are the immigrant song and wholelotta love ,, every day, at least once a day each ,, all year since the station came on the air about 10 years ago. I like this tune though ,, thought about building the Chevy at one time.
  21. The '70 Charger is supposed to be an "all new" kit ,, It'll be interesting to see just what we get. Personally, I have an MPC annual so I'm good.
  22. The grille and bumpers are pretty accurate for an '83/'84 lower trim level single headlight grille. They had the lenses molded in though. The upper level vans used quad headlights. The body also has a character line on the lower 1/2 that the earlier vans didn't have. Plus you get a nice air dam and set of fender flares. The cut up driver's seat was no loss as it was an ugly custom peice to start with. AMT should have updated the seats and dash at the time too but didn't bother.
  23. I did start on one of the Model King issues I have and I did cut the front pan away from the chassis pan. Only way I could see to get a good fit. It's still in primer in it's box now though.
