How to remove an emblem frpm a grill.
Can-Con replied to RT6PK's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
But how would you deal with the thick horizontal bar across the center? The '68 grille doesn't have that, that's why I didn't recommend the PE set strait off. -

Nice!. I like those mid-'80s Vettes a lot and black is the perfect color for them. -

It's just a base model 305. ? -

Cut out that section of grille and replace it with a section from another grille. Not so easy finding another MPC '68 Charger annual grille though. would a section from a Revell '68 match? -
sanding Tiger stripes in color coat?
Can-Con replied to jaynew246's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
IF it's a solid, non-metallic paint, then you should be able to just wet sand it out with 1000 grit like Leroy said above but then polish it with scratch remover. But if it's a metallic, you'll need to do as he said above. -

Possibly one or two of us. ? -
OK, so,, What exactly would Okey Spailding's company, "Johan" hold? Everyone's assuming it's the same company that made all those kits in the past but that was "Jo-Han". It was my understanding that he started up a new company with a similar name to move whatever merchandise he had with pipe dreams of actually producing some kits. I don't think it's legally the same company, but I don't know all that much about it, just asking .

AMT/MPC/Revell 1973 corvette from scrap parts bin
Can-Con replied to Whosurdaddy209's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'd test fit all those parts together before painting. The Revell chassis IS NOT a drop-fit in the MPC kits , I know that from experience so it might take some extra cutt'n and fitt'n to get the Revell chassis to play well with the rest of those assorted parts. -
I just read on another site that there's plans afoot to remake "Escape from New York". ?

, , , and besides, the Bond Aston Martin was a DB-5, not a DB-6 Looks similar from the front, very different from the back.

Funny thing about that,, I recently acquired a '63 basket case to rebuild. I measured it out and it is indeed the correct length and width for 1/25. Then, there's the "short deck" '61 to '63 4 door cars. I don't think many people know about those but they were 7 inches shorter in the rear 1/4s and deck then a "regular" sedan. Here's an article on those,, https://www.indieauto.org/2021/07/23/the-compact-1961-63-cadillac-that-went-nowhere/ BUT, even if they were originally undersized, that would be easily corrected with the software. My buddy who's been printing wheels and tires for me tells me he can very easily print them in any dimensions I like. I would imagine it would be a similar process with a body file.

IF, we were to talk JoHan, the obvious kits to copy would be the '70 GTX and Road Runners,, possibly a Javelin. BUT, those Caddys. Humm?? Most of the earlier ones were 4 door cars. IF I was to clone one I would make it a 2 door variation instead. The '61 2 door was a gorgeous car, for example. And, besides, wouldn't it be the car company that holds any rights to the design and/or image of any car in question?

Anyone see Chad McQueen's early movie, "Red Line". Not a remake of Bullitt but does have an homage to the famous chase scene. Not a great movie, BTW. But, here's the chase scenes in that movie.

I'll check to see if I have any extras. I thought I had more then two sets but that's all I can find at the moment. At least you know what to look for now.

A couple more from the swap meet I went to a couple weeks ago. The Olds, I've already shown. All were built but apart now. and in good condition. The Buick has all the parts except wheels for a stock build and the '65 Bonnie is an original issue that has very crisp scripts and almost no seam on the front bumper. I picked up the latest reissue a couple weeks ago so this one will be built in black and almost stock since it's so sharp and the new one will be a full custom. The bumpers for all these and a couple more are now stripped and being sent for new chrome.

I have two sets. One came with these I-ROCs and IIRC, the other set came on some "T"s.

I agree. They look a read ringer for the Pegasus no name tires.

Worst remake ever?? Footloose 2011. ??

Pretty sweet. The paint and decals look spot-on. I did the yellow car back around '80 or '81. Hand painted the whole thing including the strips and hood spider. Still have it around here intact somewhere.

IIRC, Steve G said in another thread that it is not an SS454 but a regular 1500. Those wheels were a common option on those trucks, not unique to the SS.

It's available in 1/64. I have some. https://www.amazon.ca/Chartpak-Graphic-Inches-Black-BGCP1501/dp/B01LZSTYW2 You can also get self adheasive fingernail stripping in sizes down to 0.5 mm which would be about 1/2 an inch in 1/25 scale.

Steve, that is EXACTLY how I feel about it and do that when they come on the radio too. In fact, just came back from picking my wife up at work and changed the channel when they came on on the way home. ? What really turned me off on G+R was when they won an award on live TV for one of their first hits and they were so wasted all they could do when they went up on stage was stand there and drop the "F bomb" over and over. A real class act for sure.
