  1. Mike, that's what I have been saying. It's fine for those in the US. , , BUT, , Ray's direct shipping is not $30 . It's buddy's shipping TO CANADA that's ridiculously expensive. As an example, here's a shot of the page with one of the smallest, least expensive sheets you can get. Note the shipping to me, here on the east coast of Canada. This is in US dollars. This is what I'm trying to get across. I never said it was 30 bucks for people in the US, I said it's 30 bucks for people in Canada from this guy and 1/2 that for us, Canadians to order directly from Ray.
  2. No, I checked it out thoroughly a couple weeks ago. was gonna order a set but spent a little more while on vacation then I had expected so I'm waiting for a couple weeks to put in an order. That link I posted above takes you right to the page with the shipping info on it.
  3. That's not quite right Mike. Ray's shipping from Europe is 14.50. USD. And Ray says he'll come good for it if something happens to them on the way. Plus if you get them strait from Ray you can custom order colors, tire lettering and license plates. From the e-bay guy you get what you get. ,, and if you're in Canada he wants almost $30US for shipping for some and a few are over 30. https://rayskits.com/faq_decals/#shipping
  4. No, it's just like using polishing compound. In fact, many people used it for polishing back before other polishing compounds were easily available. Use the actual paste though, not the jell. But if the glue is actually water based try rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner with ammonia in it.
  5. Woodland Scenics and Microscale Decals makes pinstrip sheets in several sizes and colors. I used some Microscale to make the grid pattern on the tail lights of this T/A.
  6. They pivot down, Carl. Part of the grille is attached to them and swing down with them , out of the way.
  7. Yes, he really seems to enjoy driving the cars as much as collecting them. And he doesn't baby them either. There's some videos on YouTube of him doing laps at Goodwood driving the Ferrari you modeled as well as other cars. ,, and I know what you mean about his name. To a lot of people, Debbie Harry will always be "Blondie". ?
  8. Monogram makes a couple excellent kits in street and race versions. The Revell Germany kit is just another version of the Monogram kit, I just compared the instruction sheet for both on line. Same kit with small variations. https://www.alanshobbysite.co.uk/shelby-cobra/ https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=56646#image1
  9. Might be too late, but here's how I chopped mine. Might be of some help. I didn't bother widening the roof on mine though. https://public.fotki.com/SteveMilberry/projects/66-riviera-custom/
  10. That's a pretty cool conversion, Michael. More involved then I'd want to get into. BTW. "Jamiroquai" is the name of the band, the singer is Jay Kay. And if you did all the cars he's owned over the years you'd have quite a collection. I've read he's owned over a hundred cars and likes his exotics, owning many Ferraris, Lambos, etc. from all eras, not just modern ones. His collection is just incredible with everything from a '67 Bullitt Mustang and a Lambo Mura to the latest European "supercars".
  11. LOVE THAT ONE ???
  12. This Silhouette is one of the 25th anniversary cars Hot Wheels put out in '93. I bought a couple of each one but they were all in black and dark blue enamel. Not very "Hot Wheels". I ripped it apart many years ago and lost some of the parts for a while. Came across them last year so I thought I'd give it a nice candy paintjob and put it back together. It's "metalcast" purple [looks more fuchsia to me] over some cheap "chrome" spray.
  13. The wheels still look a bit shallow to me but definitely a huge improvement over the old Monogram '70 Magnums.
  14. Sweet riv ,, even with amber lights up front. ? But, seriously, that's a great looking build. If I ever get my hands on another 1/1 '68 or '69 Riv It will definitely be a similar color.
  15. Oliver, as a former '69 Riv owner, I can say with confidence the only outward differences between the '68 and '69 are the grille and back bumper. The '69 has the backup lights as part of the main rail light assembly while the '68 has them separate, under the tail lights. '68,, '69,, The headlights are an interesting problem if you have the hood open. I found that the headlights from an AMT '64 or '65 Thunderbird are the closest I've found to how the actual Riv light assembly looks when "closed". At least as far as 1/25 model parts goes. ,,And I'll definitely be following along to watch as you chop that top and apply that subtle fade paintjob.??
  16. OK, so, here's the new color. I think I like this better than the first green.
  17. No worries David. I do appreciate the offer though.
  18. Oh, I wasn't looking for a trade David, just saying I had one when I was a kid and thought it was neat. ?
  19. How about one from a similar year Buick or Pontiac? They seem to be easier to come by, especially the '62 Buicks. I already have one of the Buicks and seem to see them coming up as builts and parted out quite often.
  20. very nice, beautiful paint !
  21. Been working on the frame and stance. Here's how it's sitting now, about where I want it but the front could still go down a hair. After digging through all the engines I could find, I decided to use the small block from an old AMT '57 Chevy kit. Not exactly sold on the intake yet but I'm gonna try a cross ram 2X4 bbl setup with a set of aluminum valve covers and say it's a '69 Z-28 302. ? I might try getting the engine ahead a bit too.
  22. Was that the Revell '70 you checked the bumper on, Bill? Re-reading the original post, it looks to me like he's looking for a bumper to fit an original MPC '70 annual, but I may be mistaken.
  23. I did some research last night and I see Chevy used this grille from '85 to '91.
  24. I'm not really a "Mustang Guy" but this is the kit I'm looking forward to most. ?
  25. Humm, I'd need to find a 1/16 Quadrajet and 4bbl intake. I know the wheels I have are available 3D printed , , , And I'd need a set of decals made. Maybe Ray's Model Decals could help out in that.
