I like the Thunderbird from this year, but don't really like anything that foos does, but it'll still be interesting to see your take.
-
I'm not real thrilled about this; Revell has molded the upper shock connections, as part of the fender/interior bucket assembly (as it should be), but making it impossible to install the front shocks at this time. I guess I'll have to remember to add them later, or do without them altogether.

My first major kitbash..... '71/'73 Chargers

Interesting project you have here. -
Looks great. I just painted my 70 'Cuda a somewhat similar color, though I actually like yours more.
-
I certainly do value your opinion, Bill, absolutely. I've downloaded several 'Cuda photos, a few of which are hemi 'Cudas', and there are several inconsistencies amongst them; different wheels, some have black shaker scoops, some are silvery, hoods that are all black, hoods that are same as body color, etc. Since I'm in no way trying to duplicate a factory stock car, I feel that I have a certain amount of leeway with what I can attempt to depict, mostly based on what I think will look good, not necessarily on what will be correct.

Molotow Pens not Shiny
Roadrunner replied to Olderisbetter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Fascinating stuff. While I've yet to try one, Hobby Lobby sells them, so I'll be snatching one or two before the year is over. -
Oh yes, I've seen a few folks dispatched already, that I was sort of getting used to. I think in a true apocalyptic scenario, other folks could easily be the biggest problem you might have to deal with. Yep, the whole dog eat dog approach, while still trying to hang onto a sense of decency, could be very perplexing, I'd imagine, and quite a paradox as well.

After several years without ever seeing a single episode, I'm just now beginning to watch all of "The Walking Dead".
-
I'm most certainly a fan, but in the past had to rent from Netflix. Last year, I started to resolve that issue.

Thanks very much, Roger. I'm hoping that if I really take my time, if not for the show here on the 9th, at least it'll be finished for the show in October... or should be.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Roadrunner replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Today I finally received a new replacement charger for my Milwaukee 18V cordless stuff. (The tools aren’t much use without charged batteries and I lost my other charger.) I’m a happy, happy guy, as I have several projects coming up in the next few months, that will definitely benefit by having some cordless stuff available, as well as my regular corded items. -
Enjoy.

So, after wet sanding and polishing the paint a bit, I’ve now been able to squirt a good clear coat on the body. Far from perfect, I realize, but once wet sanded and polished, I believe it’ll be OK.

I wasn't really, but I do appreciate the input, regardless. Picking the wheels will probably just come down to what's quicker for me. If I can get this knocked out in time, there's a show here (our annual invitational), on the 9th of September, and I'd really like to get it finished for that. The stripes you're referring to, are my Challenger that I offered up as a paint comparison, but I agree, I really like the color too. Thanks.
-
Or perhaps these wheels from my '70 Challenger, I'm not real sure at this point. These still need to be "tweaked" a bit, but I don't see that as being a big problem. I'll use the same AMT tires as above.
-
I've pretty much decided to go with these wheels (cannibalized from my '69 GTX), as they're already painted and ready to go.
-
Thanks very much, Jeremy, that's nice to hear.
-
Me too, on both counts. Thanks for looking in, I can use all the encouragement I can get.
-
Yep, my Challenger brochure(s) answered most of my questions regarding that vehicle. Perhaps I just need to chase down more data on the 'Cuda's. So far, I've seen several interior differences on what I assume are restored cars, same with the wheel well trim and hood painting, to name but a few.
-
I downloaded a '70 Barracuda/'Cuda sales brochure, but there are still many unanswered questions regarding options, as the brochure is quite vague in some respects. Not that I really need answers, as the whole point of a curbside model is to look good, not necessarily be accurate. I just may start a question thread elsewhere, just to satisfy my curiosity, plus others may find it of interest as well.
-
Thanks. That was a pure coincidence. I just chose the color because I really like it. Thank you very much, I appreciate that.

How much have you spent on a build?
Roadrunner replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, considering that I'm not swimming in cash, I tend to spend as little as possible, trying not to exceed $30 or so, all in, and preferably less. -
pay for shipping it`s yours
Roadrunner replied to bubbaman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you're still getting rid of this, I'd be more than happy to have it. PM inbound. -
