I can give a step by step on this one I mastered for someone. Unfortunately they are no longer casting

Maybe after adding bondo maybe reshape the windshield opening and use some half round evergreen to replicate the windshield trim? If you try it again maybe get a donor '49 Merc for the longer roof to start with and incorporate the Ford rear window? I am glad you did not take offense to my observations. I'll be watching.

She is really looking great!!!! As an FYI, the supercharged FE's (and most Fords) had a taller intake to clear the distributor. Note how high the base of the blower is in this pic.

Chopping anything is not easy and wow there was a lot of cutting on this one!!! She is looking good but may I play devils advocate? The roof is too flat from side to side, you lost some of the windshield shape in the center. I think the rear quarter windows need more taper to them. Now, these are my opinions and opinions only. I have seen things in the past I thought were off but finished nicely.

I had to check this one out as I am working on a mild custom '49 Ford also. So far we are eerily alike. I'll let you in on a trick, these kits use the metal axles and when using the lowest setting for the front the cross member and lower control arms are almost touching the table. I sanded the frame cross member on mine and raised the lower suspension up. I had to shorten the mounting pegs also. I provided a pic of where to sand.

I'll put it on the radar. Right now working on a custom '49 Ford I may chop another Merc and make a build post on the chop.

Great color combo. Looks like a serious street machine. "Mufflers? Don't need no stinkin' mufflers!"

Very nice build! -
Looking really good, Far better than the Revell Merc! Interesting you would have needed to add to roof length, I never ran into that issue. Here is a pic of mine (shelved for now) I actually used the Revell Merc rear quarter window opening on the chop.

I found it interesting he mentioned to keep your eyes pealed there may be more AWB cars in the future. The MoPower kit is on my radar for sure. Hopefully someone will offer decal set with headlight decals.
