  1. Nice job on the refinish! One of my favorite customs! I have a glue bomb original built kit that I picked up to use for parts and one of the old repops for a base to build it as original.
  2. Really nice looking funny car!
  3. Model Master Lacquer Grabber Green
  4. I had chili for lunch! and it didn't try to kill me!!!
  5. Finished this one a couple weeks ago.
  6. The Chevy Dealer here calls them a car mortgage!
  7. When I built this one when it first appeared I believe it was molded in yellow and I just polished it out. Wound up giving it away but kept the mini bike!LOL
  8. I had a set of the wheels in 1:1 that were textured like that (blacked out spokes) back in the 70's but they were a Cragar lookalike wheel that I bought at K Mart! On my Mustang kit I recently finished I painted them with Testors Steel and it toned down the texture a lot and they look really good!
  9. I originally had all of them (originals) and sold them when the prices were high to help offset medical bills. Started gathering them up again and had most but then sold the 64 Galaxie, Torino, 66 Chevy and 65 Chevelle again to pay a doctor bill. I only have the Olds left to build after building the Falcon, Fairlane and Buick. I do hope the rerelease them again!
  10. The Honda Super hawk even in 1/16 would be one I will have to get! I loved those old Hondas, just ask my wife! In the late 70's our 2 car garage was full of them as well as the carport. I had maybe 35 in total at one time that I was repairing or were for parts! Had Hawks, Scramblers and Dreams!
  11. Sales of Pickups are at a historic high and that encourages the manufacturer to jack up prices too! Of course one has to look at the size just a regular pickup has grown to! The average body and height has grown to the point they are about equal to what the old 2 ton truck cabs were! That alone drives up costs which are passed on! Even 1 or 2 year old (or older) HIGH mileage pickups are bringing premium prices right now!
  12. I remember that the chassis and some of the parts came from the 29 but forgot that the body was from the Lindy 34 that had the roof crushed when a shelf fell on it. You are right! I remember that when I redid my 53 Pickup I changed the engine and tossed that one in the parts box!
  13. Thanks guys!
  14. I remember a few of these around here back when I was in grade school thru Jr high! Mostly from the local college campus! I always liked the little Studes and this one is exceptional!
  15. Is that a "Nail Head" I see powering that beautiful hot rod? Great job on capturing that era in hot rodding!
  16. I have Gault's book Rough Road To Glory! I had read it about 4 times in High School and at the end of my Jr Year the Librarian gave it to me as it was a well worn book that they had pulled from the stacks and said she knew I liked it so much! Just reread it again this past winter!
  17. I finished this model late in 2015. It was the last model that our next to youngest grandson Isaac was watching me build. Every time he came over he ask Papa, is it done yet and I would show him what I had done on it so far. I was just about done with it the week before father's day 2015. I had planned on giving it to him when we had a family get together on Father's Day. We lost Isaac the day before Father's day to a terrible accident at his aunt's house. He was 1 month shy of his 4th Birthday. After that I wasn't even sure I could even build another model let alone finish the 57. One night when I couldn't sleep I sat up all night and was looking at the unfinished model on the desk and then looked up at Isaac's picture, then went to work and by morning it was done. It is my tribute to the best little buddy this guy could have had and he was a future model builder for sure.
  18. Will be great to see the Wilson back!
  19. Good news! I hopefully can snag a couple this time around!
  20. You are correct sir! The bed and chassis are from the 29 and the body and grill IS from the Lindberg 34 kit. The seat is 53 Studebaker and the engine I'm not sure of. All was in the parts box for a long time!LOL
  21. Sweet!!!
  22. 5 on 5 bolt pattern. I once had a 1975 Thunderbird that had them on it when I bought it off the back lot of a Ford Dealer!
  23. Great save! Those kinds of builds to me are the most enjoyable!
  24. I like it! Really clean build that you do not see! I just can't remember seeing this particular car. Maybe I was out on the road when that one ran!
