This is a must get for me! Had the original release only to have my wife's little brothers find it stored in their garage and play with it! Mine will have to look like it just came out of the rebuild shop. No way I can do that kind of weathering!

I don't know but there appears to be window track felt coming loose along the drivers side of the back glass. So maybe it does roll down!

Thanks guys! As a kid I was fascinated by these huge expensive looking (to me) cars! Compared to our old 52 Chevy these were things of beauty!

Same here but my wife pointed out that all the times were like 7+ hours old.

That is true but I take these kits for what they were and are and build them the best I can as is. I look at it as a trip back in time when things were slower and we wern't as detail obsessed as we are now with the kits! We were just happy to have the kits of cool cars to build! Some times now I will try and improve by kit bashing on some but it seems to take the fun out of building at times! Becomes more like.....dare I say it??? WORK!

On the bench right now is a 30 Model A Woodie! Still haven't decided what will be next! This kit has really slowed me down!

I tried this years ago and found that in most cases you end up with what appears to be a sedan with a slight roof chop when you are done as the greenhouse of the hard top is lower than the sedans.

Great looking Impala Vert! Like the color! Wish we had an Ollies nearby! Would have loved to find a 61 Convertible at a cheap price.

Oh yeah! I remember being pulled over just in front of the speed shop down town by the tricycle cop. I argued with him that I did not have an illegal exhaust system while he dug out the ole code book to show me. Then he asked why I thought mt system wasn't illegal and I pointed out that I could not have an illegal system because I didn't HAVE an exhaust system! He got mad and left without even the customary warning/fix-it ticket! Went inside and bought two Thrush header mufflers and put them on at the curb!

It DOES look real! Just the right touch to make it look like a well cared for daily driver! Great build of a cool car!

I was familiar with the couple songs that got air play on the radio but nothing about the album they came from until 1972 while sitting in a rainy place far far from home with most of a bottle of Jack in me. as a rule that would have meant I wouldn't remember much of that day but for some reason it stuck in my head. Bought the album in a discount bin ($1.99) at K Mart when they were closing out all the vinyl.

That was what we discovered after doing them. The original plan was to remove just one side door and leave a back seat but the customer wanted both doors removed. Then the one the boss did (with the Porsche engine) for the shop he decided that it was easier to do the same because he didn't want a side door and it was more body work to weld the door up. In my opinion while cool looking it became an accident waiting to happen!

Yes the decals came from the last issue of the Avanti!
