  1. I really like what you have so far! Where did you get your fuel stickers?
  2. You're not alone in the ability to mess up a paint job. I've messed up my share too.
  3. Thanks Bill! I stopped building models about 18 years ago and started restoring tractors. I soon found out that model building was closer to my price range. I'm still kind of a tractor nut though. Thanks again Mark! I have a couple of 6-71 projects planned myself. Thanks Mark!! Thanks Jeff! It's retired to the case now.
  4. Great looking Peterbilt Ken!!
  5. Thanks! I almost hated to cut it as expensive as those kits have gotten, but I'm glad that I did. Thanks Mark! I considered building a Duel truck in the future, but maybe with a different take. Maybe the way it looked new.
  6. Great looking Bigfoot!!
  7. Excellent work!! Very clean! I like the color!! It looks like you really captured the original!
  8. Did you post your photos as private, because when I look at your Flickr page, nothing shows. That may be the problem.
  9. It took me more than a few minutes.
  10. Thanks Chris!! Thanks so much Dan! Thanks Pat! I modeled my compressor on this one after yours on your GM V-12. Thanks Jim! I had to narrow it a bit, but even before even before it was narrowed, it just looked the part to me. Thanks!! It was mostly left over parts except for the 50 Ford specific parts. Thanks Ken!! Thanks Dave!!
  11. 1. Click on your photo on Flickr 2. At the bottom right of the screen there is an arrow that points to the right. Click on it. 3. A small block will pop up. Choose BBC Code. Right click it and choose "copy." 4. Open a separate page with the Model Car Forum thread that you want to post a picture on. In the text area, right click and choose "paste." 5. You will only see code until you click "submit." Then your photo should appear. Flickr is what I use and it seems to work good for me.
  12. I just went through this whole thread again. Wow! These are some awesome cabovers! Great work! I thought that I'd add a few of my latest as well: Mack H-63 1/25th scale model by Brian Smith, on Flickr 7400 White by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_3112 by Brian Smith, on Flickr International Highbinder by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_E7577 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_1322 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  13. Thanks! I've been wanting these specs for a long time now.
  14. Looks good! I like your sleeper idea!
  15. I had considered doing that myself for a 555 on another project, but I though that the 555s and 470s were physically smaller than the 903s and I've never found accurate dimensions on both to compare. From what I understand the 555 and the 470 were physically the same size though.
  16. According to what I read the Cummins was a V-8 185 (I assume this is HP) appears to be a 470 C.I.D., and the Perkins was a 6-354 (I assume that the 354 is C.I.D.). Perkins: Cummins:
  17. Looks great! I'm glad to see this one again!
  18. Thanks Jim!! Thanks! The hood does take some effort. Thanks so much Charles! I did debate about the hood chrome along with the roof top accessories. It may not have been the best choice to leave it off, but in the end, I think I liked it better off. I also know that technically the hood release is part of the front hood chrome, but I figured that maybe this one could have a good ol' redneck conversion. Thanks Carl!!!
  19. This was built for fun. It is a bit of a custom and definitely not a stock build. The cab and fender assembly is resin from KP Conversions. The frame is an old AMT R-Model Mack frame that I got off of Ebay before the kit was re-released, The front springs, front axle, fuel tanks and all the brake chambers came from the R-Model as well. The steering box was from the parts box from an unknown source. The rear suspension is Peterbilt Air Leaf from the snap kit, and I believe the axles as well as the pogo stick to be from the Road Boss kit. The fifth wheel plate is from the snap Peterbilt and the fifth wheel is AMT. The engine is a Detroit 4-71 that was cut down from a Spaulding Trading and Shipping 6-71 with a few parts from an AMT 8v-71 and a few parts box accessories. The transmission and front bumper are from the Ertl Transtar II. The seats are from the Monogram CJ-7. The wheels and tires are AMT from who knows where. It's a little different, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
