  1. This is one awesome build! I'm taking notes too. I have a 6-71 from Gary for my Crackerbox too. I like how you put both the intake and exhaust on the passenger side. Although there were plenty of variations most of the road tractors I've personally seen, as well as the photo in my service manual labeled "typical vehicle engine" are set up this way. That's the great thing about Gary's engine, it can be built several ways. Looks Great!!!
  2. I like what you have so far Ken!! I always like your color selections!!
  3. Glad to see you back on this one! That is one tough looking rig! I like how you did the hood. I tried that years ago with an old MTFA B61 cab, but was never happy with the results. Yours looks great!
  4. Very cool project! Looking forward to seeing your progress on this one!
  5. I would like to see a contest for 2019 too. I would like to suggest a 6 month contest. It seems that the contest gets forgotten drawn out over a year. If there is interest, I'll be glad to draw up a few rules and moderate the contest. If someones else would rather, then that's okay too.
  6. I think Goodwrench3 started the TAT 2018 but life got in the way as sometimes happens and family comes first. I finished mine too, but didn't post it Under Glass as a TAT entry because I assumed that the contest had stalled.
  7. Wow!! Some incredible scratch building going on here!!
  8. Looks like you knocked this one out of the park Ken, but I thought it was going to be a Winter project.
  9. Looks great! I always hate putting in the windows on a resin cab though. It usually causes my blood pressure to rise.
  10. Now everything about this is Cool!! You can't go wrong with a Detroit powered Crackerbox!! I have part of an 8v-71, but it's missing several parts that I used on my 4-71. I'll look, but I don't think that I have another. Looking forward to this one!!
  11. Looking good! I like your start to the Cummins!
  12. WOW!! This looks incredible! I really like your scratch built air vents! I've been wanting to try and make some myself. Excellent work!!
  13. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this!
  14. I remember seeing these in the department store when I was a kid. They never seemed to sell. I always thought that they were ugly back then, and figured that was why they didn't seem to sell. Now all the trucks that I used to think were ugly are now my favorite building subjects. You did a great job on this one Ken! It looks great hooked to that lowboy!!
  15. Small update. The interior is done. The exhaust is on, cab is mounted, and bumper installed. I still need to hinge the hood and do about a hundred small finishes.
  16. I got most of my inspiration from folks right here on this forum. Sadly, many of them are no longer on here. Thanks Lee! Thanks Sam! Glad to see you on here! It was good to see you and your family at Colfax.
