  1. Peterbilt switched from the Unilite cab to the 1100 series cab in 1972. Not only did the 1100 cab have larger windows, but the bottom of the doors were rounded off and slam locks replaced the lever style door handles. The corners of the windshields are a little more rounded on the 359 than the 379. Not all 359s had center point steering. The dash went through changes during the production years of the 359 as well. The 1100 series cab is definitely closer to the 379 than the Unilite cab, but still quite a few differences. As was mentioned before, research reference pictures of the real thing and check out Tim's website for a lot of good info including Peterbilts you've never heard of.

  3. Very impressive!! Looks like the real thing!! Excellent work!!
  4. Thanks! The tanks and front wheels are from Auslowe. This one is going to be Pilot Carriers, I plan to build a Carolina WT9000 in the near future. Of course I seem to have a lot of future builds planned.
  5. I like the color! And very slick too! Nice work!!
  6. Very nice build!! Great work!
  7. Jim I took a few photos of some restored trailers today including this one with a sleeping compartment in underneath. Just click the photo and go to my Flickr page, then go to albums and look under van trailers. I have a few photos of the torsion bar suspension under them. IMG_8729 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  8. Very Cool!! Great weathering!!
  9. A little more progress done. Plumbing is 99% complete. Interior is 99% complete. The interior was a challenge. The AMT "bucket" design makes the proportions a little off, which became very apparent when making a dog house. I widened the floor to proper width and moved seats out. I also had a clearance issue between the window and the CB. My bracket is now at the front edge of the dash instead of on top as it started out. Here's how it looks so far: IMG_8475 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_8489 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_8492 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_8496 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_8498 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_8509 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
  10. Thanks Tom! I built the snow plow kit years ago with a 6-71, but I might as well painted this one green, most of it is hid anyway.
