  1. AMT "Diamond in the Rough"kit. Purchased new in 1980. I still have the '53 Ford Truck. Wish I knew where the car and trailer went. Sits in a box, half built. Body is brush painted. I should just get it together. Second oldest build is an M113 With a Turret, started for a Twilight 2000 game in Okinawa Japan in 1986.. Since it is now 23 years past 2000, I suppose I should dig it out too.
  2. Sorry! I did not read his out of stock policy. Very Off-putting way to conduct business, IMHO.
  3. Awesome Build! The Colours you chose are right for the time.
  4. A bit OT, but the Revell1/48 Scale PT-17 Stearman, at Ollies is a great First Biplane Kit. My first one went together without any rigging, and still stayed square and true. Now, back to the Model T Fords.
  5. Maybe these? https://www.indycals.net/parts/indyparts/63watsonlotustires.html or this set. https://www.indycals.net/parts/indyparts/63lotus29upgrade.html
  6. On the long serving AMT '32 Fords, is there a Quick'n'Dirty way to convert the stock intake manifold to run twin Carbs?I have lots of these engines and few Dual Carb intakes. I really don't want to order resin cast parts if I can make something that is "Good Enough" for engines that will be seen, but not really detailed. In this case "Close Enough" really is all I want to achieve. Thanks for any ideas.
  7. Two options. This one... https://themodelcarchannel.store/collections/1-24-1-25-indycars And this one. Indycals. https://www.indycals.net/parts/indyparts/68turbinetires.html
  8. I'd be interested in a couple sets of these too. Hope somebody starts printing these for sale.
  9. Nice, Chuck, Very Nice!
  10. Very Sharp Build!
  11. Great Save! You almost never see this kit built.
  12. Great Build! John Lee Pettimore. I love the reference.
  13. Superb Build! One of the best builds of that old MONOGRAM kit, I have ever seen.
  14. I agree. Many modelers on the 'book, know next to nothing about the history of the hobby, and spread harmful rumors with amazing speed.
  15. Some Vids. First, HPI Guy reviews the Stock PMC Datsun Truck. Yes, it has a 4 cyl. (with optional Weber Carbs, Here is a build. Last the Monster Truck Tow Truck. Hope This helps. The MPC Is a great little kit.
  16. My Grandparents actually had one of these when I was a boy. I've gotten one copy of the kit, saved, but I have no clue what colour it was. Someday I'll build one. David, I really like the colours you chose. The wheels would not be my choice, as the "Giant Wagon Wheel" fad seems destined to never go away after 20 years, but your model looks excellent.
  17. Mine Too! I want at least 2 of these.
  18. Sharp Build! You really captured the look. I'd say you did not botch it this time.
  19. And What would be the difference between the '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone, and the announced Comet Factory Stock kit? Engine, Wheels? Is it just a mixing and matching of parts from the previous two '65 Mercury Comet kits? I have the Comet Cyclone kits, both the stock and race car versions. I am wondering if I'll want this new kit too.
  20. This ^^^^^ You got great results! I've them get eaten by decal solutions, so yours are great.
  21. All use the same chassis, wheels/ tires and engines. The only differences are the Bodies, Hoods, Nerf Bars & Bumpers, and strangely, the Air Cleaners.
  22. And, just to complete the Thread, the HPI Guy build of this kit.
  23. Because it was (relatively) Cheap and Easy, for a kit that has not been on store shelves for 20+ years. As for the rest, see my reasoning in the post above Scott's. Why hasn't Revell fixed those miserable Ground Hawg tires? Should be an easy fix. But two companies have known about the problem now for close to 40 years. Nothing has been done. Nothing ever will be done.
  24. Yeah, First Thing I noticed. Tabbysdaddy has it correct about the 3 recent GM pickup kits getting you the hood and bumpers you would need. The Stock exhaust manifolds are in the kit, oddly enough. However, only the stepside pickup kit has a stock Round Aircleaner and Stock Intake Manifold. (they are strangely enough, on the tree with the stepside fenders. So any Fleetside kit will have that weird '57 Corvette Fuel Injection Intake) The Big Problem I see, (if you over look the Top), is the seats. If there were two of the Big Driver Racing Seats, you could just use those, and be ok. They would not be stock, but would be acceptable for an open top "Beach Buggy / Roadster" build. (My plan) However, if you want stock seats and the top, Resin Casting or 3D printing looks to be the only way to get the parts you'd need. (I foresee a jump in the eBay prices for Glue Bomb Monogram Blazer/Jimmy Kits) My suggestion for a "Stock-ish Build". The New Stepside/ Sportside Kit for the stock engine parts, Front Bumper, Hood and Wheels/ Tires. Seats from the spares box. Top? You are on your own, unless (or until) the aftermarket fills the need. We are 80% there for a stock build, but I don't see RoG ever re-tooling the parts to bring it back 100%. The market for a stock Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy may not be large enough to justify the investment in tooling the missing parts. I would great enjoy being wrong about this.
