MPC-988 1/25 George Barris Granny's Hot Rod $35.99 TBA
stavanzer replied to ss2000's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Man I hope the stock parts are still in the kit. And no mold shift in the wheels this time. -
Dave, I have both of those kits, and plan to produce a stock touring myself. I had many rides in one a teenages in the 1970's. (my folks belonged the the H.C.C.A, 'Horseless Carriage Club of America'.) My dad had a 1925 Buick Two Door Sedan. I spent more than a few weekends polishing the Nickle Plated Trim. When we went on "Tours" on weekends, I got to ride in other club members cars too.

Finished my First Day yesterday. Much better than I expected. I've got to spool up quickly though. Going to be some serious skull sweat for a few weeks. Thanks to everybody who sent prayers.

No talk about the Round2 1971 Dodge Demon ?
stavanzer replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Bobby G, (and others) Partial answer to your questions about why the two kits cannot be combined. It is two of these...One Tool Bank for each kit. Run separately. Then, the older Duster tooling needs to be removed, and half of it discarded, and combined with the new tool Demon components. Not Impossible, and could be done, but costly and wasteful. Better really for you to do it yourself. Round2 Is getting those folks who want the superdetailed new chassis and new body, halfway there by you combining both kits. For everybody else who just wants a Demon for the shelf, they have filled the bill. These kits will sell out fast, I predict. -
Super Nice! Looks like it was just driven off the Showroom Floor for a Photoshoot.

It is what is. I'm happy about the short time between jobs. Not Happy about the pay, but that changes.

I really like this Truck. Exactly how I would have built it. I like the No Nonsense Stance, the Period Tires and the Merc Conversion. -
AMT 1934 Ford Pickup
stavanzer replied to shoopdog's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very Sharp Truck. The Blue and Yellow paint really works on this build. -
The lack of Wheel Options is not great, and the spokes on those wheels are too thin. (IMHO) But, it has engine options that the AMT kit does not, and some nice aftermarket Tube Bumpers. I'm looking forward to this kit, as well.

Yes, Yes I do.

Got fired last Friday. Got Hired Monday, to start work next Monday, May 1st. 20K pay cut, but at least it is a job. The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways, so I'm not complaining. We will get by somehow, and the future is always changing.

Thanks To AMT For The New Technology Old Kits
stavanzer replied to oldcarfan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
While we are on the topic of giving Thanks, I want to call out Steve Goldman in particular for all the information he has shared and continues to share with us at this site, (and the other one, too). He does not have to do this (I believe), and Round2 could just as easily tell all of us on the Forums to just watch Chad on the Monthly Update Video, and that would be that. Instead, Steve shares small and sometimes larger Tidbits of information about soon-to-be-released kits, upcoming kits, and even future projects or 'possible' projects. He very graciously responds to many questions, and has even asked for our 'collective' help in answering questions or knowledge about kits or kit history. It is great to read what he shares, and see the photos, as well. Thank You, Steve G. for all you have done and are continuing to do as an conduit between us and the Model Company we invest so much Time, Energy, & Money in, as customers.- 35 replies
