Old school late model

Neat Build! I've seen similar cars race here on the 1/4 'Bull Ring" dirt track. -
Great Build! Colours and Finish are perfect from here.

From the most recent On-Line Info, we may ( I say MAY) be betting the Turbo-Z version of the Camaro. However Internet Box Art reveals, are often done with 'placeholder' pics, so nothing confirmed yet.

Yep, Atlantis shows Canadian Markings on the decal sheet.

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....
stavanzer replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That is an astute observation, Mark. Kinda sad though, as the majority of the dragsters back then seemed to have run the Chevy Small Block and various Hemi's. So to be more authentic, you really need on of those engines. This does not mean that you would not find FE or Caggy Engines, just not as often. It would be nice to the Buick and Pontiac engines back. Edit: Looks like Atlantis has cloned the Revell Parts Pack Small Block Chevy. SElling it Chromed even. https://atlantis-models.com/custom-car-parts-series-1957-chevy-283-engine-chromed-1/25-scale-atlantis/ -

1960s slant six engine color
stavanzer replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had an old (Middle 1960's) Dodge Dart. The Slant 6 was so oily and dirty that it had no real colour. Just a blackish, brownish, grayish, rusty lump. The Slant 6's in the USAF Aircraft Towing Tugs, were either dirty yellow, or faded olive drab, depending on when the tug had been built. -
AMT '32 Ford V-8 Engine question.

Bill, Thanks for the tip about filing the manifold. I tried it on a couple, and got something that looks passible to me. Again, Thanks! I prefer the molded twin carb setups, but for a Jalopy, it works great. -
Notice that the one in the last drawing in the article, on the bottom of the last page, has what looks like a cut down Speedster body. THe body end just under the gas tank. Notice how clean, and smooth that last drawing is. I've seen more than a few Doodle Bugs. I've never seen one that refined. In most are just the opposite! Many are so crude, that when you see them in the boneyards at farm auctions, it is hard to tell them from the junk. I've seen them with wooden crates for seats, and old pulleys for steering wheels. Most farmers that built these had large scrap piles and no cash, so everything was scrounged from their junkpile or a neighbors pile. Also, these are not exclusive to America. I've seem pics of them in Canada, and Scandinavia. Some of the Scandinavian ones were built after WW2, presumably due to a shortage of tractors, and other motive power.

We probably won't know until Atlantis releases better photos of the kits. -
Beautiful. That wheel looks sharp. Could you make a mold and cast a few? Might be easier than trying to scratch build another. There is no "Wrong" way to build one, since every one was hand built is a shop or barn, by a variety of craftsman, from skilled to 'not-so-skilled'. I look forward to seeing where this build goes,

Thanks For the Answer, Steve. Straight from the Horse's Mouth, as it were. Maybe try to get 2nd tier Manf's. (Big "O" Tire, Les Schwab, Hercules, or something Korean. Or Maybe a defunct Tire Brand could be licensed from one of the current Biggies who hold the trademark., (Western Auto, Cooper, Fisk, Guardsman) I'd rather have Fisk or Cooper than a blank tire. Alan

Steve, I gotta say it. The Slicks in this kit are not so good. Featureless, Black Donuts, they could have come from an Industrial Parts Warehouse as easily as in a model kit. They look like bushings for a small electric motor mounting bracket. I'm sorry, that is just how they look to me. Branding, Printing, Stripes? None of those were in the budget for those Tires. I'm Sorry. The rest of the tires were so good! Then I saw the slicks. Ugh.

What a Treasure Trove of parts for the Sci-Fi or Whiffer Scratch Builder!

Does not matter to me anymore. Closest LHS in 2 hours away, either North or South. It's Mail Order or Hobby Lobby, now.

I see only two kits that I want. Green Roadster P/Up, and Red Slingshot Dragster. The Rest, not so much. -

Buddy of my Dad's was a New Holland sales rep. When asked if he stood behind his products, his response was: "Everything but the Manure Spreader" P.S. It was an Amish Farmer who asked the Question. And, yes, he did buy the spreader.

Talk to your Tax Guy (or Gal). With the general deduction as high as it is now, Itemizing only works if you have lots of deductions. I've tried this and it didn't work for me. But, every situation is different. -
