  1. Well, I was very glad to be able to get the Toyota FJ Landcruiser with alternate tops last year, so there is some good. It is really great to be able to get the various Rallye cars also. So, I think many builders will find at least a couple kits that interest them. Remember too, that Italeri is focused on Europe, not North America.
  2. This kit is still on the shelf at the local Hobby Lobby. At least it was last month. Not sure there is much need for this kit right now...... But, It will have some different decals at least.
  3. Now, I can finally build that D.A.R.E confiscated 'Slade I've been wanting.
  4. Or, just build the darn thing to the best of your talent, and have fun........ ?
  5. Awesome Showrod Build! The Blue is perfect for this build.
  6. That's wonderful, Casey! Thank you very much for finding this and posting it. I hope it helps future builders of this kit.
  7. Alex Kustov did a great article in the Other, now Defunct Magazine and accurizing and fixing up this kit to look better. I believe he even molded in the T-tops. He painted the car silver, and used Keith Marks decals. It was a helpful write-up and is worth hunting down if you want to build this kit.
  8. And, the Blower Hat is too wide for the hole in the hood. Going to need some minor re-engineering on this kit when you build it.
  9. Ford Engine is nice, but very rare in real competition cars, Hemi's and Big Block Chevy Rats appear to be the dominant engine in old photos, although it might be different on the East Coast and Midwest. Hopefully the other engine will be a Hemi. Those tires in front are just awful! Way too wide, and the sidewall is way too short.
  10. V.A. prescribed one for me. After doing the 5 minute version, of the half hour "how to use your new CPAP machine" I was sent home to Use/live with (experiment) with it. It still sits sealed in it's box. I am an 'active sleeper' (i.e. I roll around in bed like a beached trout), and I sleep on my stomach, both conditions that are not CPAP friendly. I'm too old and stubborn to try to change how I sleep, so no CPAP for me. (Jim B, I wish I could send you Mine)
  11. Man, what a bloated, ugly version of the car. At least MPC did not tool THIS body up for the kit.
  12. The way the chrome tree is tooled in the Chevelle / Malibu there is only one set of wheels available, at a time. The Blower and other parts are on a small extension of the chrome tree, so it is easy to include both intake options. Looking at the way the tree is tooled, Revell would have to run the same chrome tree twice in order to give wheel options. Not sure what will be in the kit, but the 5 spokes are certainly the hardest to find, as the black car was released more often than the red car.
  13. Just being able to build an A990 Hemi Sedan out of the box, with no kit bashing, will be a great thing! I hope these kits sell really well. I've seen a couple of the 990 clones at the March Meets. Outstanding cars. (Dave, is there any chance that the kit would be able to give seating Options? Bench and Buckets both? and some optional wheels?... Thanks)
  14. I don't care. I'll happily purchase one, just to have it. I like this kit. If I build it, it will set on the shelf next to the Monogram Flip Nose Malibu that Revell is releasing in the next few months. Both Kit were a big part of beginning my journey into Model Building.
  15. I had the Olds 403 in my '79 Buick Wagon. Never gave any trouble. Red it is then for the smogger, Big Block. Many Thanks Guys!
  16. Dang it! Stop doing that, guys. Now I want to put those Re-tooled Reactor Wheels from the '49 Ford on the '55 Nomad....I think they'd look great on a Custom Nomad.
  17. I hope whoever has the tooling for these brings them back. They would all make great little "Slump-Busters" esp if they were 2'n'1 kits, with fresh decals.
  18. What would be a good kit to source a Small Block 350/305 engine from? This kit has the early 1970's 454 Big Block, and it is both wrong for '76, and poorly detailed. I'd say the MPC '78/79 Monte Carlo, but those are not really a god candidate as, they are too nice in their own right to be parted out. Oddly, both kits have trailers, though.
  19. Wow, after all the hype that surrounded this kit back when Tamiya first produced it, the kit seems to have disappeared. You seldom see it built. I'll wager that 90% of the PBR kits sold, languish on shelves today. It is great to see it built! Yours has just the right air of daily use. Great Job!
  20. Great Work. I've never seen one of these built.
  21. I had an M-43 Ambulance. That Straight 6 Dodge Flathead was rated (according to the tag) at 37 HP. The Jeep Pick up must have had similar issues. Mine Had Gobs of torque, but was geared so low, that 40 mph was the fastest I could get on the hiway. I have always wanted an M-715. Glad to see your work on this one, Charles.
  22. I found that T-Bone Stake kit in a Goodwill store several years ago. Traded it for something else about a year later. I remember a freind of mine was in the club. He had a Revell (ex-Aurora) Jag XKE kit. I recall that the wheels from that kit had some of the best molding I had ever seen. Those wheels eventually wound up on one of my Hot Rod Kitbashes.
  23. There are some very clever folks in Thailand. I was there in 1987 and really enjoyed it.
