Looks like it came straight from a Beach Boys, Album Cover, photo shoot. Way to nail the Cali Surfer Vibe!

Adam, Thanks. He had Canadian Inlaws, as he married a girl from Vancouver. That might explain it.

Well, Friday started off Badly. I had to put a dog down.

Thank You, John. Cats can be more intense pets than dogs, and most live longer. Really hard to lose one. I share your loss. -
Adam, I really dig that 'Yota. A mechanic I used to work with called them "Seely-ca". I've wanted one like yours for years.

1985 Chevy Blazer

Boy what a great result from your struggles. Kit is great! (Hint, Round2, an 8 pack of those tires would sell Really, Really well.) -
Kickin' Butt so far. Keep Modelin'!

Tumpy Decals are ALWAYS Gibberish. Just use what you can and Model On. That is an impressive truck. -
Well, not today, but Friday. My latest Mail Order arrived! Got the New Revell-Germany Landrover 109, the Moebius '65 Mercury Comet, the Round2 '70 Fire Chief Chevy, and last the Round2 Pinto Popper. The Pinto does have the Pintera parts and the Turbo, but even then it's a small kit with a short parts count. Not happy that I paid full retail for it, but it's my own fault for not doing Due Diligence. The '70 Chevy is nice, and has what appear to be direct clones of the '70 Ford Police cruisers Emergency Gear. Again, the decal sheet is skimpy, and I never want to hear about the City of Troy again. I'd have liked to be able to make a Fire Chief's car for something other than a burnt out, warzone of a Detroit suburb. The RoG Rover is a Superb Looking kit in the box. The RoG instructions are both clear (because of the Coloured Printing) and vague because CAD printing leaves the "Where-does-it-Go" arrows ending in mid-air sometimes. Reading ahead several steps to see where things ultimately end up, is a necessary skill. But, this is a fairly small issue in the scheme of things, so it's not that big. The RoG Decals look great. Enough Choices for Lic Plates all over Mainland Europe. The Moebius Comet looks great in the box. This is the stock version. It will be built as a Mild Street Rod, with the Hood & Engine from the Gasser Version, that I got for Christmas. I like the look of the stock wheels so much that I may use those for the Rod.

Thank You, all, for the Kind Words. They mean a lot, right now. I missed hearing Freyja snore that last couple nights. The two remaining little dogs are very anxious right now. They stay close to my wife and I. -
I know exactly how you feel. I had to put one of mine down yesterday. It does hurt.

Our Siberian Shepard had an 8:30 am appointment to have a lump on her chest examined. Fearing the worst, I took my 24 yr old son with me to the Vet. (it was nominally his Dog and he did name her 10 years ago). Like most Dogs she was really Mama's Dog, Living for my wife really. Freyja,(the dog) liked him, and tolerated me, but she LOVED my wife. She was extremely protective of my two grandchildren, who spend every day with us, and I know that her fierce, Deep Bark, caused a couple of young folks to pick another house to possibly break into. She was without a doubt, the best, smartest, most protective, gentle dog, I've ever owned. She loved my Grandkids, and I have no doubt, would have given her life for them if need be. The Mass on her chest was given a quick biopsy. It was a tumor, and for another $500.00 I could find out if it was malignant or benign. It had grown from Marble Sized to almost Tennis Ball Sized in less than 2 weeks. There was no need to guess........ She suffered from the typical German Shepard Hip Dysplasia (pretty badly), so there was not much choice. My son and I said good bye, out side our car, and then they took her into the Vet's Office to put her down. Due to the "Blah-Blah" COVID restrictions, we could not even go in and hold her. She died among strangers. Kindly Strangers, but strangers nonetheless. It is going to be some time before I get another dog. Due to the neighborhood we live in and it's slow but visible slide downhill, I'll need to have another Big Dog to protect my wife. But I'm not ready to have one just yet. My other 2 dogs, the Chihuahua, and the Dachshund Mix, are both over 14 years old. I'll have some ugly choices with them, sooner than I want. But for now, I grieve for the Best Dog I ever had, and most likely will ever have. Not ready to face another puppy right now...... Thanks for letting me vent.

Is Your Model Car Club on Lockdown
stavanzer replied to Joe Thomas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Our Local Club, (Bakersfield Area Modelers-B.A.M.) is canceled. We had a Zoom Meeting last week, but only 4 members were there. There may be another meeting today. -
Ohhh. Thanks The Maul & Paw-Kat-el decals made it over!!! Great News.

I'm curious to see how the contents of this kit, stack up to the newly released ( April 2020), Round2 version, with it's "Restored" parts. Also curious about how many of the decals transferred over.

My Roommate in the Air Force back in 1984 had one of these trucks with a 350 Small Block in it. It was a wicked truck. One night he came back to the Dorm Room ,a little bit pale. I asked him if he was okay? His answer, "At 110 mph, the front end get loose". I never rode with him again........

Mercedes-Benz W31 G4 models?
stavanzer replied to Roadrunner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, I have. The Rear Fenders are too long for 2 wheels and a bit cramped for three. I'm still at the mock up stages on mine. -
My cousin and I, (we are of Scots extraction) used to joke about "MacWarriors", Black Watch Plaid, Mechs. I'd like to build one someday.

I've been getting kits from a couple of Well Known Mail Order outfits. One in Georgia and One in Wisconsin. Both have decent prices and great service. My problem? Postage/Shipping costs. I'm paying over 30.00 to ship my orders (usually 4 kits) I'm losing a whole kit, with every shipment. So, I'm wondering, are there any Kit Pushers based in California or on the West Coast, that might allow me to shave some of the shipping costs? If there aren't, of course, I'll still keep using the 2 I use now.

Man, I'm just the opposite on the IMSA stuff. I love it! I have about a half dozen kits with the huge, add on parts. I need to dig them out and build them. Those kits take me back to when I first started building kits, and when I was in High School. (1978-1981). At the time, those were the coolest thing going. I'm gonna have to buckle down and get some more of those kits. I have only the AMT Monza from 3 or 4 years ago, and I need a couple MPC Monzas in order to kit bash a Mondo Street Warrior!!!
