I am surprised by how bare bones the Ridgerunner kit is. The decals are a sad, re-pop of the original sheet, and give no options, and the kit itself has few parts. I had mild interest in it, but not after seeing the video. The same for the Trucks. COE's do nothing for me, and the Astro Turbine did make it in, so that is not a kit I want. I want to support Round2, but it won't be anything from the Feb release list that does it. I'll wait for March.

Yellow tags at Hobby Lobby

I've had H.L. do the Regular Price thing so I could get 40% off too. They didn't even question me. Just did it. I was pleased. -
Thanks. I'm putting one together now for my '34.

1927 and 1970 Ford police cars coming back?

Be nice to get the Trunk/Gas Tank from the "My Mother the Car" kit too. It is a very nice trunk. -
1927 and 1970 Ford police cars coming back?
stavanzer replied to ChrisBcritter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Having driven a T, I'm not sure that it was/would be stout enough for either ramming or pulling. In 1/25 scale I'd use the MPC Lincoln or Chrysler for that kinda work. I do wish that this kit would come back. I can't believe it has been 12 years since the last issue. I wonder what shape the CinderBug tooling is in? Time for that one to re-appear too. -

Dang! I could really use some more of the '27 Touring Police cars. Ah well, maybe in a few more years. -
Rumor had it that Turkey got the Body Stamping Dies for the Tri-Five Chevies. I read it in Popular Mechanics 35-40 years ago. No telling if it was true. I know that some US Dies went to South America, and lived on down there for a few more years. I'd really like to know the Truth about the Chevies though.

Slightly O.T. I worked as a Used Car Tech in the late 1980's/early 1990's. When the boss ordered 4 new tires for a car destined for the front line, he always got the cheapest he could. They always had narrow white walls. I still remember scrubbing the blue, protective tint from them, as I mounted them on the car. So, As for the Dodge P/U, White Walls are just Day 2, not Showroom. Although, having worked New Car prep as well, we had a list of "options" that were installed on every new Acura we sold. So, I'm sure that many dealers back in the day would have upgraded the tires, on factory fresh trucks, just to make them 'Spiffy" looking, and move the metal.

A great Build, and far out creative idea on the Electric Motor. Three Thumbs Up! ('cause two thumbs just aren't enough)

So, How is it coming? I'm really curious about the 4 port Riley head. -
Ah,, Thanks! I plan on using it on my Peking to Paris build on my '34 Ford Coupe. I just wasn't sure what it was.

OSSA Dirt Bike Story.....Miracle???
stavanzer replied to DPNM's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A neat story. Thanks for sharing. I've heard of Bultaco, but never an Ossa. I grew up in Central California, and the Bultaco's were always the Legendary "Best Bike Evah"! Was the Ossa an East Coast thing? -
I'm trying to figure out what kind of two-speed rear axle is in the Revell '40 Ford Standard Coupe Kit. A variant of the Ruxtell?

The two cars in one kit box shown in Mike Smith's photo has nothing but plastic parts. All the P/E and White metal parts are either left out, or replaced by decals or plastic. -
Monogram '39 Chevy kits
stavanzer replied to misterNNL's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've seen the stock Wheels/Tires from the AMT '37 Chevy used too. Might be worth a look. The Stock 6 Cyl I-6 from the Monogram (not Revell) 1953 Chevy can be used in the '39 also. The AMT '37 has a nice 6 too, but it might be small in the '39 engine bay. I've not tried it myself. -
Hmmm '78, not '73? Rather have the Camper Shell or Service Truck goodies, but I'll take what I can get.

So could anybody get close enough to the GMC to see if the box calls out the Turbine? Brat!! Wow, a home run there!

I just checked you tube, hoping for an un-boxing video of the '34 P/U. Still no luck! I hope Chris is planning on getting one! -
