  1. Thanks, for the tip, Tom. Bill, that I why I bought the Flash kit, Bill. I wanted a 'true' A990 car.
  2. How about, "My Mother the Car"? I have the AMT kit. Pretty nice, if you want a T with a nose-job and a trunk.
  3. Nice to see that Your Builds are as Fun and Outré as ever, Dave! Good Work.
  4. Man, I'd glue those fuselage halves together real soon. That Seam down the middle is a huge pain to sand and smooth. Best not to get much more work on the outside until that is done.
  5. Well, I just got the California Flash Kit, and all I can say is, "WOW" This is the first Mobius kit, I've ever had. I'll be buying more of the these '65 Kits for sure.
  6. Did you ever get this one finished, Snake?
  7. This is exactly the Street/Strip look, that I want for my build. Thank You for posting so man WIP Photos. They will help greatly when I build mine.
  8. Thanks for posting this build. I just got this kit I'm shooting to build a Street/Strip Version, of the A990.
  9. Especially the '55 and '57. Both are so Iconic that for most casual modelers and spectators, mention the word, "Gasser" and the first cars they will picture are the '41 Willys and the '57 Chevy. Talk about leaving money on the table............ For all the chatter here on the 'Net about the cost of new tooling, I've read suggestions for product extensions of existing tooling, that would NOT require new bodies, just Wheels, Engine Upgrades, or other small, detail parts, that when combined with new decal sheets, would produce new product with minimal investment. I find myself really wondering exactly "Who" is making the Marketing Decisions at our favorite Plastic Producers. What 'secret info' do they see, that causes them to reject what seems to 'us' as "No Brainer" options on making kits? I know that there is 'something' that causes these choices to be made. No Company or Owner wants to lose money or have a kit not sell because they guessed wrong. And, I understand that the Modern Model Companies", consists of a "Band of Brothers" who are all (or mostly) True Believers. They all want the company to succeed on the clearly limited resources available in today's shrunken market. So why do some (apparently) obvious modifications never happen? Well, I suppose, if I want the real answers I need to Win the PowerBall and purchase one a model company of my own.
  10. Indeed Patrick! Those are all good choices. I'd really like to see that Monogram Sheriff Blazer come back.
  11. Here is a review of the Hasegawa kit of the Jeep. https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/has/kit_has_20221.shtml Italeri does a nice one too. https://www.italeri.com/en/prodotto/1991/3/20 And https://www.italeri.com/en/prodotto/572 a Fire Jeep. I have the Italeri Jeep. It is much nicer than the MPC Jeeps, but the tires a simple halves, and a very plain. The Hasegawa Jeep is probably better than the Italeri, but can be really pricey.
  12. Beautiful Paint on those bodies, Wayne! I really like that Blue.
  13. Okay, but there is that exaggeration and Hyperbole again. Rusty Meat Clever? Would a clean meatclever have done a better job? Seriously, I see how the shapes differ when compared side-by-side. However I see nothing offensive on either one. Neither looks better to the other, TO ME!! And only TO ME. For the rest of you, carry on.
  14. Odd. I've owned both '63 Impalas in the past and saw no real difference in the bodies. I love the hyperbole that dominates discussions about the shape of bodies in model kits. They are always "Disasters", or "Fatally Flawed" or some such phrase. I also love the phrase, "Once I saw it, I can never unsee it" as too suggest that the final product of the toolmakers art, is so repulsive, that to merely view it is akin to looking at images of all-out war and death. I understand that feelings and opinions run high, especially considering the shapes of iconic vehicles, but the over-the-top language employed by some commenters evokes the Titanic, rather than the trivial. But that is the point I suppose. In the end, these are replicas of Cars (or Tanks, or Ships, or Airplanes), and the emotion that we pour into them is a reflection of their value to us as totems. Having read through the complete disembowelings used used by partisans of of both camps,(Get it Right the First Time, or Why Bother to do It at All) and The (Hey it looks like a Duck, from here.) I can see that both sides make valid complaints. Yes, given today's High Technology, Almost Perfect Bodies should be in every new kit. On the Other Hand, given that we practice a hobby shared by thousands, (not Millions anymore), the bulk of whom don't speak English, and could not give two figs for any American Car,, we really should be grateful for what we are still getting. (I'd wager that the Japanese and Chinese Home markets, are larger than the American market by an order or two of magnitude) So, here we are. My Bemused Diatribe will ultimately change no minds. Nor was it really meant to. Just venting about what to me is one of the absurdities of our collective Hobby.
  15. I'm in for one of these.
  16. That Pinto looks like a kit that will 'Fly' off the shelves. A forgettable 1977 Ford with one version and no optional parts, looks like a kit 'everybody' has been waiting for. Sorry Kats, this choice just bewilders me. You make this massive homerun with the '78 Dodge Longbed, and follow it a month later with THIS??????? It just does not compute. I know the Rep-Stock guys will want one, but after that, the market for this kit seems a bit, self-limiting. After viewing Chad's preview, all I'll need from that kit, is the decal sheet. Nice to see them going back to the well for the '53 Ford P/up and the Jeep. That Godzilla branding is genius. I am waiting for the Coke Branded '32 Ford Coupe and the Coke '69 Galaxie however. Not the same old kits in Coke Boxes. Round2 will get little of my money this month, I can tell you.
  17. Man, I need that RMR Grille. I just have to contact RMR resin and try to get one.
  18. Awesome, I hope to see this at the Meeting on Saturday.
  19. Sorry. My You-Fu must be weak today. Thanks, Rob.
  20. Bought mine at HL two weeks ago. It has the Rag Top from the Herbie kit in it too. Very Nice kits and lots of wheel options.
  21. Okay, I just spent 30 minutes on Utube, and could not find this video. What am I doing wrong? My search terms must be messed up.....
  22. That must have been some gust of wind!! Sorry to see that happen.
  23. Thanks, James! That Gasser looks good.
  24. Broke down an got the Tamiya '66 VW Bug from the LHS. I'm tired of futzing with the old Revell kits. At least the Tamiya 'should' have fewer fit problems.......
  25. You might want to point that exhaust pipe up or extend it longer. Your poor driver is going to get that Turbo-diesel blatting right into his ear, LOL.
