Indeed. I've slept through a 5.1, back in the day. To answer your question, we have the same thoughts about folks who live anywhere there is a "Season" for disasters. Tornado Season, Hurricane Season, Blizzard Season.... There is no "Earthquake Season". So, we mostly pretend that they are not going to happen. Just like 99% of humanity.

Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
stavanzer replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Fair Enough. Coke gets a lot of grief here, but it sells lots of kits to collectors, and the decals don't hurt anybody. (besides, maybe it will be Sprite, or Moxie or Mello Yello) I'd pay for Moxie Decals. Do you hear me Steve G? Bring us some Moxie Branded kits! Please? -
Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

The Mongoose Does include the Timing Lights and Figure with his hands over his ears. Hopefully the new kit will still have those extra parts. It looks like a nicely detailed kit. -
Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
stavanzer replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
These are the things I remember seeing. The Four Door Hardtop, and High Level Trim, make the car a hard sell for Light Commercial & LEO Modelers. James Duff mentions something that I had net even considered, that with the probable end of the License it may be that the whole program is over. All of those considerations aside, Round2 did not spend all that effort and cash for a One & Done tool, so something may happen to it in the future. I'm sure there were plans made to utilize the tooling in some form, someday. We just have no idea what they are. I'm content to wait and see. -
They are going to make the shell and the radiator one piece like they did on the Model T, aren't they. Those need to be separate pieces. It will be nice to have this kit, but The Model A done by a folks who are not Car Fanatics is going to be a good, but very staid kit. The Model T's are very hard to build, and the one piece Radiator/Shell, and difficult to build but accurate parts seem to be leaving most of these kits on the shelf. Some of the engineering choices on the parts are odd, as well. I want one of these "A"s but the probable high cost and estimated difficult assembly leads me to project that I'll buy only one. Not a recipe for market success.

Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
stavanzer replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I remember some chatter at the time the 4 door Supernatural kit was announced, that the Car it represents was an Uncommon variant and not used for Taxi/ Police or light commercial service. A Neat car in it's own right, but not useful for much else in the 1 to 1 world. There are probably threads discussing the kit and what exactly it is, but I'm not finding them. Somebody with more interest could search for those comments and prove (or disprove) my recollections. Discontinuing the kit, may just mean the the market is currently saturated, and the kit sales have fallen off to the point where there is no need to keep it in the lineup. Nothing sinister, just marketing. Even the H.L. in Bakersfield has a few of the kits. -
Spoke too soon about the Bus. It has a 20/25 minute window when It arrives. 17:10 or 17:25, when ever it gets the driver assures me, "I'm not late, I'm right on time" Grrr. Took 2 hours to get home yesterday, 1.5 hours today. Not fun.

It's a 1/25 Model Car.... It's easy to forget that sometimes.....

My first day on the new job went well. Very Busy, but Well. And I got the Bus Ride to work situation sorted, and and got my day's off for my VA Doctors appointments approved. (Always a hassle when you start a new job, and have a handful of VA visits already scheduled) Going to be work involved learning the details, but learning new things keeps you young. Right?

The thumping noise from the dryer is what alerted me to the problem. Nothing is bent or warped, so I may be okay.

I washed my Wallet. I hope the magnetic stripe on my ID cards isn't ruined. I'm upset with myself. I normally check the pockets on my jeans. Had some kind of Brain Fart.... Old age, or just distraction? I just don't know. Well, I needed a new SSN card anyway.

Hit and Miss With Chrome Plating

Thank, Graham. -
I think part of this comes straight from Plastruct too. That is a lousy, but cheap bottle they've been using for many years. (since they first started selling the product?) It is a very old bottle design, but inertia means they have never changed bottles suppliers or shapes. So, we have to adapt to them.... I've since moved to other cements and have left Plastruct behind.

AMT vs Revell 69 Camaro

But, I love this Camaro. I built several when I was in High School! I did not know Revell had boxed it. Now I want one......
