  1. There is no Sound Business case to support the Revell effort. None, as shown by the fact that the kits have disappeared, and will probably never see the light of day again. Not sure what went wrong, but all that time & tooling budget utterly wasted, for no reason. Worst of all the the kit was clearly copied from and inferior to the Lindberg tooling. I'd really like to know who 'died on that hill' in the Revell business office to push that whole package to completion.
  2. Sharp Looking Car, but I have too many projects already.
  3. Fantastic Build! You still see trucks like that scattered in the back corners of farms, here in the Central Valley. Not Quite Dead yet, and still doing something useful. (although now, the 50 year old trucks are from the 1970's) Good Show.
  4. But, Bob, Humanity has always been this way. The last 60+ years of Relative Peace are the anomaly. The Normal World has always been Hobbesian. Nothing about Humanity has changed in 5000 years. We are still the same, fallen, evil people, that Humanity has always been. What is hard for those of us of a "Certain Age", is that we grew up in world that was mostly peaceful, and we think that is Normal. It is not, and never really has been. We mourn the loss of a way of life that made sense to us. Watching it change, and disappear is hard for us. Especially since Violence, Force and the 'Law-of-the-Jungle" are becoming the new Normal. I feel for you. Glad You are Healing. My Late Father was an Alumni of Chico State.
  5. The "Landing Strip Pads" were most likely, "Marston Matting". It is in a couple of 1/35 scale kits, but I've not seen it in 1/24-1/25. You might search for Printed Cardboard Runways, as a Diorama Product.
  6. Are You having FUN? If you are, then you can never have too many WIPs. They say that "getting there is Half the Fun". So, start a new build when the mood strikes, and enjoy the build.
  7. Just Hurry Up, and take my Money, please! I need at least one of each kit.
  8. I think the whole point of Tim's reply is accentuate the fact that the Revell 32 tooling has no 'easily' anymore. Could it be done? Maybe, Maybe not. There are probably only a handful of folks on the board who even seen the Revell 32 Ford tooling. And, unless you are a Tool & Die Maker, and have extensive experience with Model Tool Making, I doubt you could even understand the tooling with a guide. This is not to say that we don't want new variants on the tool. Just that it is probably time & cost prohibitive to make any changes now. Revell is now a European Company, with a European Focus. They will run old tools for the American Market, but it is not their focus. I see Revell investing in American Tooling, (the 71 Mustang) slowly, as the Budget permits, but not like it was 30 years ago.
  9. Last Month I received my latest order from Fireball. Three sets of tires, a Hi-Lift Jack and a bunch of KC and Cibie lights. All impressive and the shipping was fast. As usual, Fireball knocks it out of the parts.
  10. I wonder if Revell Europe would sell me the parts tree with the dimpled hood?
  11. HPI Guy Reviews Two Atlantis kits here. The Tom McEwen Mongoose is an Easter Egg in the Middle of the video.
  12. I'm born on May 26th, too. Same as John Wayne, Bobcat Goldthaite, Stevie Nicks, Sally Ride & Hank Williams Jr. Enjoy the Day, after work. I've worked many a Birthday in 61 years, and no doubt I'll work more of them. (God Willing)
  13. Got Three Kits for my Birthday. Revell (ex-Monogram) CJ-7 Jeep. Atlantis (ex-Mongram) Fireball Dragster. And Revell 31 Model A Coupe.
  14. It is doing for me now, too. Back to waiting for pages to load.
  15. Awesome, Awesome Scratch-Build! You really nailed the vibe. Good Show.
  16. Sharp Build. Captures the look and stance perfectly. I like the subdued colours and finish. Good Show.
  17. Awesome Build! Yes, I think Snake would be cheering you on. Good Show.
  18. My first thought , was the Title of a song by Chicago...Impressive looking kit. Can't wait to see it done.
  19. I hope the Kit Plastic is undamaged.
  20. And I have one of those kits sitting in my stash! I never knew what those hubcaps were from. Thanks, Chris!
