  1. That is correct, it was a factory part. A van axle. The entire frame firewall forward from the Red WAgon kit fits the Johan 64 Dodge perfectly, never tried it on the Coronet.
  2. Hmmm time for this again. There will always be modelmaking, but who cares if car modeling continues as it is? WHY? It's beyond our control and doesn't effect my enjoyment one bit. Guess barrel hoop spinning and horseshoeing aren't as big as they were either. The age of big V-8's and deuce coupes and dragging your Plymouth are long gone. Times change.
  3. WOW! A nice job on an ill fitting but classic AMT kit! NICE!!!!!!!!
  4. LOL Here's the truth about the flathead in the Camaro. It was done in 1968 by a local guy in Oregon, a longtime flathead Ford drag racer. He bought a (then ) brand new stolen and stripped Camaro from the insurance company for cheap, dropped in one of his Fords, ran a lower NHRA Gas Class, ( H/Gas) and kicked butt against the mostly VW's. Won a LOT! Did you guys not see the "1968" right on the photo? I saw this car race many times at Woodburn, know the story for a fact, Marty Strode posted the pic years ago on my "Great Oregon Racers" thread on the HAMB! THAT IS THE REAL STORY OF THE CAMARO AND THE FLATHEAD!!!! ?
  5. Now that is pretty cool man! Like WAY OUT BIG DADDY! Nice work, captures the era pretty well!
  6. The Ivo car has four, The Nancy roadster has a blown one. The same ( I think) in the parts pack is fuel injected. Valley covers are easy to make.
  7. Thanks. There are a bunch of resin bodies that MIGHT fit, but before I buy some I need to know it WILL fit. These are good suggestion, I thank you. Anybody cut some styrene to construct a fix?
  8. The body on this kit is horrible, barely covering the driver. AMT really didn't try very hard on this one! SO, how did you "fix" it? Is there a resin body that fits? Buying another kit seems to be defeating the purpose, so come on ingenious modelers, what did you do?
  9. Nice job on one of the first flip tops, this car was nearly unbeatable in it's day! You got it RIGHT!
  10. Look at Speed City Resins! They got one! http://www.speedcityresin.com/MoparPage.htm OOOPS! Says not available at this time. If you really want one you might email.

    Alfa Romeo GTA

    Nice job, good looking model.
  12. NOT rivet counting, but a great observation!
  13. What do you mean? Has it been printed? Is it in plastic? Or just a CAD file? Don't understand, sorry.
  14. Why don't you print some tires that give a break from the same old kit stuff? Inglewood slicks? %0's -40's tires? Atlas, Monkey Wards, Voit , that kind of stuff?
  15. Love the Buick! What is your intent? Does it actually exist? It reminds me of the Shapeways site, everything is a digital drawing, I won't buy anything without seeing what it really looks like! No criticism of you Doug. By the way, the Shapeways site is difficult to use, really hard to find stuff and like I said, only digital pictures.
  16. COOL! A great project, keep us posted.
  17. I'd also like some Inglewood slicks, Vogue and Atlas tires . Auto trans with blanket molded on! Donovan clutch can, rear end and Airhart disc brakes from the Piranha kit!
  18. Let's add 3 d printing. Decent grilles! Lots of otherwise OK kits with crappy grilles! Been years since any new photoetch have been done! Some for the OLD kits!
  19. For me, tops are the Revell Custom Car Parts . The Corvette 327, the bodies wheels and speed equipment sets! How about the old AMT/ JoHan land yachts, The Chrysler's and BIG Olsmobiles etc. There was a caster that passed away that made a 32 Plymouth and other not Ford bodies, he was into vintage circle track stuff. He mad a cool Lincoln V -12 in race trim! 30's Buicks and other GM from the 37 Chevy kit, plus sedan and four doors of 30's cars! Resin realm used to offer a 47 and a 50 Plymouth, other weird stuff, now GONE! AMT Annuals, the Tempests, Oldsmobiles, wagons, and JoHan annuals too. At least the bodies, these kits are almost impossible to find. And various parts from old kits sold in packages. Manifolds, Judson Blowers, weird stuff you just don't see much of. Ken Kitchen! Do a Packard and 50's Lincoln accurately! What do you think??????????? What would you like done?
  20. A far cry from the 60's! AND model glue SUCKS since they did whatever it was they did to take out what morons sniffed to get high. My Testors and Testors liquid and Revell Type S was great stuff.
  21. $ 150.00 seems really reasonable, this kit is pretty rare! It seems to me that Ebay prices have gone down lately. I never bid, just buy now if it's something I want and feel the price is good. Look around, lots of less desirable kits go for more! I say 200-250 tops!
  22. Now that's something you don't see every day! Was that a kit? Nice work.
  23. It was VHT spray can paint, used barbecue it looked cool on fabricated headers ! Like a black chassis, or metalflake, or tufted interiors, it was for looks. It was just the style back then. Headers are frequently made of multiple pieces of tube, bare metal is ugly! There were other colors than white, black was used sometimes, even red, but white was the coolest. I believe it began around 1960 or so. https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-flameproof-coating
  24. Ok. Which can? ;looks like several choices, they say fat cap" ???????????? and high pressure, not for small items? Which one do you use? AND does it work well on resin? THANKS!
