Looks pretty good to me. Don't give up. Remember, give it your best shot and see where you have gone wrong so that you can correct those errors on your next build. We tend to be our own worst critics. I think your flocking looks darned good for a first attempt, maybe you are being a little bit to hard on yourself?
Welcome to the forum Bryan. As mentioned before, lots of friendly and helpful folk on this forum who are generous with advice and constructive criticism.
Ok, I stand corrected. Never seen the chrome wheels before. Most beetles in South Africa had either the oem steel wheels or aftermarket white or chrome star pattern steel wheels often seen on beach buggies.
Superb building skills. That is what most of us aspire to with our own builds. Everywhere you look, you see another detail that you missed previously. Thank you for sharing your build with us.
I agree. The stance is also spot on, though it would be nice if the rear could be lowered just a fraction more, but to do that you would have to go with a smaller wheel which wouldn't look right. Keep at it, it's looking great.
Surgeon Generals warning " Viewing this thread may blow your mind! Proceed at your own risk!". Seriously though, this is truly inspired work! I check this build on a daily basis to see if you have found a new way to blow my mind. Tim, you are a scratch building god.
