  1. For those of you "That 70's Show" fans. (Cheap Trick) borowed that song from Alex Chilton (Big Star).Former lead vocalist of the (Box Tops) I do like the TV version though. So here is (Big Star), rather than the cover everyone is accustomed to hearing, as played on the Jay Leno show. HELLO WISCONSIN!
  2. Another joe jackson song version not usually heard from the body and soul tour. (acapella this time).
  3. Joe Jackson covering his own song Ha Ha! I love how he just about plays it sideways. "Close you're eyes" and try to guess the song from the start. Oh I see it's already given away.
  4. Great stuff..^^^ Heres one album I keep in rotation, I'm a bit of a ;retro-delic, punk, jazz, blues, country, swing, prog. kind of listener so I'll just plunk this out here. ERYKAH BADU Live 1997. First song(can't find its entirety on the tube)starts out w/a nice Miles Davis "So What" sample. It's a nice album, worth listening to if your into jazz/funk/soul. Yah she's a bit BSC. ?
  5. Some might find this interesting. MCM is included. http://99wspeedshop.com.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/ Copy and paste, can't get link to work, Doh
  6. Maybe some don't remember "Thunderbirds" (The pink car) it's one of those endearing shows I grew up watching so will give it a pass. Thunderbirds are always go. that other one, Meh
  7. Get the Xuron, and don't let anyone borrow them. ? they will serve you well.
  8. Windows part way down, love it. heard this one is quite fiddly. Would love to have one of them in my stash though.
  9. The League Of Gentleman 6 wheeler is pretty cool. There was a resin kit I think.
  10. The AMT Mustang coupe doesn't have windshield wipers molded in? I'm currently trying to sand the wipers off the AMT A FX kit. Arrrgh!
  11. Dave... you have have some terrific builds. Glad you are sharing them with all of us. Where did you source that engine from? Looks like an FE.
  12. I thought that film was controversial enough with out the crime boss connection. Did not know that.
  13. This is sad, really. He had made a few attempts at this before, but I have to think his motivation may have been a paycheck from the Science Channel rather than proving anything. Guess the Earth is still ROUND until the next conspiracy minded adventurer comes along.
  14. Fun thread, really have enjoyed listening to some stuff you all are into. Here is one that I like quite a bit. (Zydeco Blues sort of thing) Sonny Landreth, "Gone Pecan". From the album Grant Street. Great album, check it out.
  15. James... I picked up one of these kits not long ago and like you won't share what I paid for it. Ouch. Looks like there are a few Maverick projects going on here which I am following with interest. Do check them out. Researching online (for a similar Pro Stock build) I was only able to find this terrible scan of the 1973 chassis. Anyone have a better version? Joe's chassis looks like the way to start, but the Mustang fuel tank is considerably wider than what I have come up with while searching photos of Maverick's on the Web.( Also note how rear frame rails turn out wider towards the back.) Kit tank. From the Web. (Maverick Grabber) Hope it's OK photo bombing your thread ?
  16. Topic is obscure. I can think of a few bands I actually got to see and just how off the dial they where. Legindary Pink Dots, Tupelo chain sex, The Jazz Butcher, or most any band that played at First Avenue in MPLS. during the 80's-90's. I worked two blocks away and had a roommate who night owled as a bar tender there so I was constantly dropping in, was it My Bloody Valentine that night?or The Church?... well... yah?! Even got to see Primal Scream. A real treat with an excellent tripy 1960's style acid light show. Wonderful! One particular night we saw "the Waterboys"Touring their first album "This is the Sea" That was just magical. If you haven't listened to it give it a try, chances are you have heard a song or two.
  17. That Arcam has some good reviews. I scaled back from a multi channel Rotel system to this two channel approach and run a "Vortex-Box" loaded with all my ripped C.D.s (and some DVD's) all controlled by the Ipeng app on my IPad/IPhone.Lots of features available to those who are willing to learn a bit of coding. With my terrible tinnitus from working in production machine shops, my hearing has probably ruined my ability to judge anything musical (or maybe it was my misspent youth). Most likely why I tend to like wierd angular music, getting hard to hear subtleties. ?
  18. https://youtu.be/nv7-YM4wno8 Spencer Lisenby at TMG Technology Cosulting GmbH. for those of you interested in learning more.
  19. First parts have come out of their molds (not by me). Have been sent a picture of one of the first casts by a member here. I don't think I can post it here (didn't take the pic and not sure if it's ethical to do so at this time). Don't even know if there is any interest. It was a fun project and now have to start on that timing cover.
  20. Just listened to it again on my home system (Peachtree audio DAC, Monitor Audio silver 100's) Proly just me but her vocals are a bit weak. Knowing this is the trend today with young artists. I rather like the old John Barry,Shirley Bassey stuff myself.
  21. For awhile now R.C. glider enthusiasts like me have been following this chase to fly the fastest. "Dynamic Soaring" has changed the whole definition of slope soaring and the traditionally slow graceful flight you normally think of. If you are an aviation buff, R.C. modeler, or just like to see amazing videos, check it out. This thing's a rocket and powered only by the wind, (545 mph.) https://youtu.be/MoaWlKC3wIM This a rather poor explanation of Dynamic Soaring, but the best I could find in short form. https://youtu.be/xlPI0AOj5MI
  22. I like it. Nice to hear her with an orchestra backing the piece. Its short, will there be a longer version or is this just a teas?
  23. Really nice Bill... Anne Francis, what a gal.
  24. No experience with the latest formulation enamel in rattle cans these days. The longer the better, weeks not days is what I've heard. I'm sure someone here more knowledgeable using enamel rattle can paint might chime in.
