  1. OH, this is a nice (real) cover of "Girl from Ipanema" Im sure you haven't heard. Clockhammer , what an interesting group.
  2. Another sort of cover, but not. they drop some familiar references lyrically in this. Some nice riffs also. How many do you recognize ? O.T. sorry
  3. Mike Patey has some Brass ones. Reverse pitch in flight! Thats just crazy.
  4. A song that is often confused as a cover of an Van Morrison tune. Who knew such a happy sounding song could be the end result of such an experience. You all must remember this one.
  5. After have a discussion with a friend about our favorite car manufactured the year we were born had me stumped. I decided to see if there was a database easily searchable by year and included all makes. Stumbled on this https://www.classiccarcatalogue.com/0 STRONA POCZ.html If that link doesn't work, search for Classic Car Catalogue . com
  6. Schiefer in the early 1960s started building Magnetos for Drag Racing with over 8000 units sold. I have found two kit sources for the Schiefer Magneto tho there could be more. I do not have either of these so can't speak for there fidelity to scale. AMT Don Garlits Wynn's Jammer. AMT '69 El Camino Soap Box Derby Champions
  7. 0ops, missed this bit about a build up https://www.customcarchronicle.com/model-cars/the-golden-sahara-model/#.Xaf_Wy3Myi5 Still think some illuminated tires would set it off the chart.
  8. Has anyone attempted building this as a model? Those glowing tires alone would defiantly make for a cool diorama/display piece.
  9. Did Barris actually build this or did he just (acquire) it like so many of his so called originals. He's kinda the "Ted McGinley" of the custom show car world. ? sorry folks.
  10. Tim Looking forward to how this project goes. Ive got the same kit and am thinking of building it as an early Pro-Stock.(almost box stock) Just some chassis detail/changes undernieath for the most part. What kind of chassis have you planned for this? and can I ask, where do you find good documentation for these old Pro-Stock type of cars. Ive researched Maverick chassis for most of the well known drag cars of the era but can't find much that shows any detail.
  11. Here is one that got some respect. "Gypsy Rose" under glass. Very cool old low rider with some history.
  12. Thanx Guido. A member on this board asked me if I would be interested in the possibility of sharing this part via casting. This would kind of change things because if so I would want to give whom ever want's one a couple of options that are not so specific to the particular model I'm currently building. What I can envision is a blower spacer that would allow for the use of a typical distributer and location rather than a front mounted alternative, (Ive seen this set up on more modern examples, mostly street rods and the like.) Also an option to use the top oil fill tube location. I have to be perfectly honest here that I have very little knowledge about vintage drag racing first hand. I build what I see is the best definition I can think of. Please do not be afraid of making critical comments if you see something that needs attention. Starting out with the original manifold from the 1/24 scale 427 Cobra kit (is this scale a setback?) did create some small limitations from a perfect recreation tho I think they are minimal . Let me know what you think. I'm no expert at this stuff but its fun. some pictures of what inspired me.
  13. Some pictures of how it got there. This tiny stuff is challenging and actually fun, just wish my eye sight was as good as it used to be.?
  14. I switched gears on this manifold project. Now working on an vintage supercharger manifold for 1/24th scale engine I'm using. (Cobra 427 kit). Started out with the stock part, removed some stuff and have added 22 or so new pieces. more work needed Just added that piece where the distributer goes, will have to shape it after the glue is good and dry. nearly done. Plan on using the Revell " K.S.Pittman " blower to top it all off.? Pictures are kinda fuzzy, sorry. and as you can see there is some fine tuning needed.
  15. Perhaps you could just use a small drill not going through all the way but just enough so after it's painted you could add some thinned out black to simulate it.
  16. Yah, Gotta admit that is the best. From Hamberg Germany circa 1970, the Rattles.
  17. If there is one I would truly like to here it. Another cover by "Stone Coyotes ". https://youtu.be/TPmP1NgNqsc
  18. good tools to have around for sure. They come in handy, you just have to think about how they can help you. I'm still looking for a good machinist vice, They are sort of costly (for a good one) Should have saved my stuff from when I was doing machine work, ARRRRGH! ?
  19. Getting the ends of rods tubes and square stock Straight can be a challenge if you are like me. with a relatively cheap "V Block" like this one I purchased online. You can modify it for sanding a almost perfectly square face of your rod, tube, or whatever. I C.A. glued (super glued) in a large enough square rod of evergreen to fill that groove in between the flats to keep smaller size pieces falling into it. So then can use the face of the "V Block" as a fixture to sand each part square. If you need to make multiple pieces the same length you can tack another piece as a stop. When done you just remove the Styrene parts, clean up with solvent(acetone works)
  20. Looking good Denis. Did you end up scratch building the exhaust?
  21. Thanx Guido... Another pic.
  22. He knew how to make a proper cup of Tea. ?
  23. great stuff, Here is one that is timely. Ginger Baker/Masters of Reality. JB Witchdance Oh there are some great versions of "Season of the witch".
  24. This is of course my all time favorite spooky song... Dusty Springfield version
