I'm trying to replicate this "ALGON" intake manifold for 427 Ford Wedge. Nothing I have found in my kit parts come even close. I have built the base, a sort of starting point. Looking at this intake manifold I see some basic shapes that I'm having trouble replicating. Oh and they do need to be replicated eight times. this drawing is just an idea I'm floating, though the parts, (at least three per. intake) would be extremely small. Any ideas would be appreciated. Yup, building my way into a corner again. ?

It was a kind of magical evening, us sitting around the picnic table eating dinner. The next thing that happened was some wild Turkeys thought they would join us. Maybe 15 feet away. Looked over my shoulder and there they where.?

Celebrated my sisters birthday up at her cabin in Horseshoe Bend Idaho. I cooked dinner on the grill, we all were amazed by this wonderful sunset.

The One that got away is not always the best car at the time. I wish I still had my old Opel Kadett. I could have turned it into a sweat street rally car. What an easy car to work on. YES. A box, but surprisingly it got me through many Minnesota snow storms. LOL

So many magazines are folding these days. One of my favorite food related mags shut down not long ago. Question:( What is it, as far as the mag goes, that you don't get here?) Yah, for sure I wish I had saved all my old copies to leaf through. But a digital database that was easily searchable online? I might pay for that. Now, I should say, I haven't ever subscribed, always bought them off the shelf. My perspective is quite different than those of you who have subscriptions and are expecting something. Hope this sounds civilized.

Thanx Tim, I use Tamiya extra-thin cement for the most part as well as a more viscus mixture of Testors liquid glue and Tamiya that I have mixed up in an old Extra-Thin bottle. I do try to take extra care as far as (joinery) is concerned and de-bur all parts with various methods; Scotch Bright, Zona micron sandpaper, and a child size toothbrush. Then clean up all parts in isopropyl alcohol before glueing. Always trying to apply the glue at a point that is the most hidden from the view of how you would normally look at the model. My eyesight (close up) is not that great so I have to use an Optivisor as well as some different power levels of "CLIC" cheaters. They are available up to +6 power. Creating fixtures, tooling and pattern making are sort of my background. So making small parts like this I have to depend on them rather than my poor eyesight. A lot of the pieces to this puzzle have to be be tried, tested, rejected or reworked. Nothing new to this old machinist by trade.? -
Of course, must have bene thinking of the Shelby Charger.
-
Wondering the same thing. Also trying to guess the date that foto might have bene taken. There are some clues.
-
You two have Avatars that look similar. Well, that is before I put my cheaters on.

Just kinda irked... I have to replace the power panel and breaker's in my new (old) home due to aging and moister that got in there over the years. I'd rather be safe than sorry, but there is the expense. Oh well.

Thanx J.C. This I will have to mull over for awhile. Lack of good documentation is sending me into the realm of those old AMT kit designers, LOL While I'm deciding what to do with that last part of the roll cage, and finding a better suited drivers seat, Ive got to start working on this. Algon injection for the Wedge, Best starting point I have found is a resin part from "Speed-City" altho what it represents is a Hilborn manifold. So would have to be modified. Ive got an idea to do it completely from scratch like most of the rest of the build. -
I couldn't figure out what that body was. That is an Anglia I'm not familiar with. But just the kind of thing I would attempt to build

I like that Rampage. Always thought it might be cool to put a Capri RS front clip on and then incorporate the slightly IMSA style rear quarter panels. My thinking was they do share some cassis bits? maybe not. here are a couple,

East. Ha, had me thinking. When I (whip out parts) it normally takes me three days and as many attempts. Lookin good.

Some work on the roll cage today. First a pic of the Souza Bros car to refresh your memory. Here it is with the seat from the AMT kit. Not bad but perhaps it a bit too small. Another view. Still one more bar (rear diagonal brace)to make. It's a dilemma because I can't replicate it as it was unless I make it point down into the left fender well. My brain tells me, make it correct in a purely engineering way, (Connect directly to the rest of the frame in a reasonable fashion). OR , just fudge it and no-one will be the wiser. -
I need to add this to one of my dragster builds.

Well, I'm curious. Is there a source for 1/25th scale Morris Minor parts? -
Steven, that interior is fantastic! Thanks for the insight on how you created this beautiful build up. You've got way more skills than me Where's Hawley, used to live in Excelsior MN.

My deepest sympathy. My Mom is my rock and now 93. She always gives me a big hug every time I see her. I'm not the most emotional guy, but someday the hugs will be a memory. "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." H.K.

microwave-styrene experiment
STYRENE-SURFER replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Beautiful work JC, Do you find any difference between Plastruct and Evergreen? I'd like to try that other kind (not quite typical Styrene) that you can find on Ebay, just haven't ordered any yet. -
microwave-styrene experiment
STYRENE-SURFER replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I tried a few variations of this experiment, including steam, and could not get the rod to do exactly what I wanted it to do. Had to use a hotter heat source and (Over-Bend It) so it would finally situate in a way that worked. Stick with those Tea Candles or Light Bulbs K. -

Not one of the pictures I have found have any class designation on the car, kinda strange.
