Just finished the Revell 1/48 scale B25J Mitchell. Upper Olive Drab color is Tamiya AS-6 and the underside is AS-12 Bare Metal for a natural metal finish. From what I read most B25’s were delivered in the NMF and paint was added in the field. “Jaunty” Jo and crew of five flew their last mission on May 26, 1945 while bombing a refinery in Taiwan. On that day Jaunty and sixteen other bombers approached the refinery just above the treetops dropping parafrag bombs that were designed to be dropped at low altitude with great precision. Parachutes delayed impact long enough for the aircraft to escape unharmed. After dropping her payload Jaunty was possibly hit with anti-aircraft fire opening a huge hole in the cockpit and crashed seconds later. There is some speculation that she was hit with parafrag bombs dropped from another plane.
