It was especially cumbersome, as when I put on the Mercedes wheels, I went with a much wider tire. Made it all that much more difficult to turn. Ah well, it was still fun. Someone needs to make a transkit of that generation!

So I got to spend a little time with a '67 GTO last week. One of my vendors here at work has turned into a good friend, and his dad was proudly showing off his build. So far, he's entered five shows and has taken best of show five times. Slightly modified, not quite stock. Was on a hoist getting some tweaks, so didn't get a good shot of the whole car, but will do next time I visit them. I have attached a pic of the whole car, taken last winter when the car was first completed.

The diesels here were only in the very early ones, 81-83 I think. After that, it was the flat 4 gas engine only. That wasn't enough jam for me, so I put in the engine from a wrekced 2005 Jetta TDI. Regeared the transmission and added a larger turbo and intercooler. Made for a very fun truck! Should have added power steering while I was at it.

Absolutely love it. Did not know there was a doka resin available! Time to grab one. I used to own an '85 Doka. Did a TDI swap, lowered it, and added Mercedes wheels and the SOuth African front end, plus some Westfalia interior bits. It nickel and dimed me, but I miss it.

Is that the AMT Warren Tope kit? I have that, haven't been sure what to do with it. Nice build! Any issues with the kit at all? Some of these reissues are less than stellar!

Dan, you can see the sky because all of your smoke is here! Smoke rolled in over the weekend, and despite getting rain yesterday, it's still smoky this morning. i'll be in Kelowna this week, mayeb it's a little clearer there. That El Camino makes my pants tight. Beauty.

That whole album is excellent! I remember playing it a lot when it was new. Haven't listened to it for quite a while though. Might be time to go and rediscover it!
