  1. I have a glass cabinet to display things. It has doors, so dust is not an issue at all. Size is however. Can't fit truck trailers in it!
  2. 1/16...that's a big dang kit! I like it. Want one.
  3. I think one of the other things to consider with the new tooling that we're asking for is licensing. I work in the automotive industry, and have contacts at most of the major manufacturers. I was speaking with my FCA rep last year, and was asking about the lack of merch for Ram trucks and the Hellcats. He filled me in on just how tough it is to get licensing permissions out of FCA, especially for images of the cars. That's one of the reasons we keep seeing Camaro and Mustang kits, but haven't seen a Challenger for many, many years.ANd then you get companies like Ferrari. They sign exclusivity deals for licensed product, and sometimes those companies do not produce certain things. Like diecast or plastic models. Sucks, but it's reality. It's entirely possible that Round2, or any of the other kit companies have attenpted to obtain permissions for exactly what we've been discussing, but have been turned down. Would be interesting to discuss the ins and outs with someone from one of the kit manufacturers
  4. The 288 GTO is my all time fav Ferrari. I think you did a great job.
  5. I like it! Can't say that I've ever seen a Cube kit before!
  6. Best one I've seen so far.
  7. Looks great, love the diorama!
  8. As a side note, I have a 2018 Power Wagon on a railcar right now. Should be here in a couple of weeks. I already have some parts in the garage, and some ideas for mods. I love the Power Wagons, this will be my second one. Would love to find a late 70s version.
  9. The comic strip Baby Blues has been relevant to this discussion over the past week. I chuckled at these, but it also made me a little bummed out, because I hear many of these same comments here at home. Not everyone is into this. And it seems like most ids just aren't into it. What subject matter might be of interest? -lifted diesel trucks -more euro hypercars -Tesla -imports/drift -zombie apocalypse kits Just some thoughts.
  10. There's a joke about motorboating here somewhere.
  11. Oh look, another reissue from the 60s. *yawns* Look, I know there's a market for this stuff, and I know of lot of the older guys like it, but I think it's stuff like this that is killing the hobby. You want to attract new/younger people to the hobby, a reissue of a 50 year old kit is not the way.
  12. I just put a couple of strips of that Tamiya tape across the back of the photoetch sheet.
  13. I guess those 72 virgins are all looked after now. As for the Playboy cars, very cool. Although, some of those choices are downright strange. Mazda 6? Cordoba?
  14. I'd almost want to answer that to see what it's all about! lolz
  15. Well, that is officially the most ridiculous thing I've seen today.
  16. Not bad. Ordered from HLJ on Sept 21. Arrived here in Edmonton today. From Japan to Canada in less that a week, and without crazy shipping costs! I wanted something different, and found this in 1/24 scale. Had to have it! I think I'm going to bump this up the queue and put it on the bench next. And of course, needed some Japanese content to go on this truck when completed. And some wheels for another project I have on the go.
  17. Dash detailing is superb! looking forward to seeing more!
  18. I 100% agree with you Bob. The new Lambos make people look, but when you watch a Countach roll down the street, EVERYBODY stops and watches it. There's just something about that car that gets everyone's attention! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. Love the colour choice. White with red just screams 80s, and that's how it should be.
  19. Everyone can be a bit of a car/truck snob, and a lot of them laugh at the cars I've owned, but two in particular stand out. The one that the girls at work would laugh at, but then asked for rides in was my Camaro. 1995 Z28 convertible. In purple. That one went over big time. And the guys at work ALWAYS mocked my station wagon. 1993 Volkswagen Passat. However, it had the VR6, a 5-speed manual, and some mods. I removed the AC, added a big turbo and some other engine bits, reprogrammed it, loud exahust, coilovers, Porsche brakes and wheels. People mocked, until they rode in it. Still the fastest car I've ever owned. Had I kept it, I would have reverted it back to a slightly more stock look, try for a bit more of a sleeper vibe.
  20. Didn't he kind of have a sudden meltdown/incident that prompted his voluntary departure? THought it was kind of odd how quickly he vanished.
  21. I'll happily drive girl parts over blue oval any day!!! lolz There's an innuendo there somewhere. My job is trucks (and vans and cars and SUVS) and I always wonder why people bother with the Ram 4500 or F450. For not much more, you can get the 5500 or F550 and get more payload capacity and towing, with not a lot more GVWR. The 4500 is kind of a weird stopgap I think. I ask my clients why they go with a 4500. The usual response is that they need more towing than a one tone, but the 5500 is too big. After an explanation, they almost always go "too big." Anyway, I have my spot on the couch warmed up, and the fireplace glass is cleaned up, so I'm ready for tonight's episode.
  22. What pleased me? Found out my new truck has shipped. It's on a railcar somewhere between Mexico and here. So in about two weeks or so, the pallet of parts in my garage gets put to use. 2018 truck, not even here yet, and I've already bought mods for it.
  23. My first thought? Cool truck, but why is the paint so faded and cr*ppy? Then I had a closer look. Nicely done.
  24. The absolute BEST colour on these!
  25. I like the idea of making it a surprise. There are many kits and subjects that I really don't care about, but that could result in some out of the box thinking when it comes to completing it. If this becomes a thing, count me in.
