I've been lucky I guess. I buy and sell a lot of guitar parts and guitars, and have yet to have a bad experience. If I ever have a question, I email the seller directly, and without fail they're responded with a definite answer. Never had a burn. Knock on wood.

Takes me forever to finish one. Between work, family, coaching the boy's soccer team, playing volleyball, playing in a band, and camping/hiking; my modelling time is not as much as I would like. Considering I'll finish maybe 5-10 kits this year, from a stash of around 100 kits...maybe a 10% completion rate at best. I'll probably never finish all of these. But I want to.

I think the fact that you had to list specific examples of minorities being successful says something. I think everyone here probably knows people from visible minority groups who have been very successful in what they do, just like I'm guessing everyone here knows unsuccessful people. And you're right, it doesn't matter what your colour is, or what your political preferences are, or what your sexual preferences are. Doesn't matter if you believe in one of the many Gods out there or if you believe in a flying spaghetti monster. Everyone can be successful if they put a little effort into their life, and they want it. But...white guys have it easier. It's not right, but that's how it is. Gender stereotypes and racial stereotypes definitely get in the way, especially in certain regions and certain industries.

I've just started building one of mine. Really liking the detail and quality of the kit so far. But then, I'm not that far into it yet. -
Growing up, the IDA drug stores always had a "toy" section in them, and I used to get a few kits there whenever I could scrounge up the funds or nag my parents into buying something for me. The only specific kit I remember was the old Subaru Brat kit, I think AMT or Monogram. More recently, a few years ago, I happened to see models art Wal Mart. It's the only time I've ever seen them there. They had a bunch of the Polar Lights NASCAR kits on for $5 CDN each. So I grabbed three of them. Not particularly interested in old school NASCAR, but I can't can't say no do a deal. I buy a lot at local antique malls too. Lots of deals to be had there.

Found two kits yesterday at a local antique mall. $10 for the pair sounded pretty good to me. boxes open, but no bags were open and everything is there and undamaged.

What did you get rid off today?

No kidding! I've been hunting for the Mad Max interceptor for quite a while now! -
Thanks guys! Everyone came to the same conclusions I did, so I feel better about that. I have the A-Team van, but it will be a lot easier to grab the '77 Chev posted above and just shave the flares off. I considered grabbing the AMT Rescue van and shortening it, but not sure I want to do that. As was said, would need to remove sections both in front of and behind the rear wheels. Will crack open that A-Team van box and see what the second grille looks like. Has to be round headlights. Shouldn't be too hard to shave the bowtie off the grille that comes with the 77 Chev kit. Definitely want to do the 71-77 era, as the 1:1 I'm planning on replicating is that gen. Thanks everyone!

I need some advice/thoughts from the kit experts here. I know Revell has a Chev cargo van, late 70s era, and it's a stubby van. However, that one I believe has molded in fender flares. Has any manufacturer produced a similar kit, but without the flares? Preferably in GMC form? Ultimately, I need a GMC kit, stubby van, no flares, round headlights. I know I could take the DIrty Donny kit and cut it down to fit, or take the Chev kit and shave the flares, just hoping there was a kit that didn't require modification! Any thoughts?

Here's my current daily driver. 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Megacab with the 6.4L Hemi. Perfect roadtrip vehicle for me. -
Tough one for me. I'm mainly a hard rock/metal guy, but I like pretty much everything. My tastes run from Industrial metal, to EDM, to jazz, to blues..there's usually something from every genre I can get in to. Except for country music. And modern R&B/hip-hop/rap. And I have no guilty pleasures, because I'm not feeling guilty about any of the nonsense I listen to! Having said that, the artist that surprises the most people when they find out I'm a fan is probably Maroon 5.

Picked this up yesterday. And although I don't have a pic, the replacement body for my Revell Ramcharger arrived a couple of days ago. Not as warped as the original!

Love the paint work. I almost did my 1:1 Camaro in that style of camo.

I love this kit. Built both the street version and the BTCC version years ago. WIsh I still had them. Wish even more that these kits weren't ridiculously expensive to buy now!

WHAT BUGS YOU

1. excessive flash and mold lines 2. chrome. Always too bright, looks too toy-like 3. ride height. I have yet to build a car kit I haven't had to modify. I'm talking about slamming the kit, I'm just talking about making it look normal. 4. molded in emblems. Please don't. 5. Crappy instructions. AMT is bad for instructions that really don;t do much instructing. -
The problem I have with Tesla, and other electric cars, is that they haven't figured out how to give maximum range in all weather conditions. I'm in Edmonton, we routinely hit minus 20 degrees celcius throughout the winter, and quite often hit minus 30 and sometimes minus 40. Battery life goes to about 1/5 of what it does in normal warm weather. I've leased out a Tesla, and my client returned it early, totally unhappy with the winter performance, trading for an Audi S7. All the car, significantly less money, and no range issues if it gets chilly outside. And for those who argue that cold won't affect it that much, go fully charge your iPad or cellphone. Now turn it off and put it in your freezer overnight. How's the battery life?

I went to a zoo once. It only had one animal. A single, lone dog. It was a Shitzhu.

Wow! The realism is amazing. -
lolz. But no. Lumberg just had a standard 911SC with the Carrera spoiler. Not a turbo at all. Like how this one turned out. I think I need to grab this kit. One fo the local stores has had it on the shelf for ages now.
