  1. Pete,

    Thanks very much.

  2. Last I heard is he's still shipping and still taking orders though I don't know how fast his service is anymore, and he just uploaded some new colours at the end of last week. I've not ordered anything in months and have been very reluctant to since he no longer communicates or if he does it's very slow. I love his paint. I just don't want to take the risk anymore.
  3. I think the jet fuel is gonna go boom long before the 4 oz of paint in the box in the cargo hold. The restrictions are moronic. If they want to ban flammable items on an airplane why not take the alcohol off? Oh wait....they can't....people would lose their $%*# if they couldn't drink. It's just some dumb regulation that some paper pusher put into place to make the sheep feel safer. I''m thinking the 30000lbs of jet fuel is way more dangerous to air travel than paint or booze or hairspray could ever be. Limiting the amount that you can ship, sure I get that, but banning it completely? No, makes no sense to me.
  4. Pics by Gerard Brown. This link is to the 2016 gallery for Peking to Paris rally. It's broken down into the specific days and then further down into galleries for each car. Hope you can find what you're looking for in here Alex. https://gerardbrown.photoshelter.com/gallery-collection/Peking-Paris-2016/C0000ihFK0ADq8ds
  5. Apologies Ed, we all totally hi-jacked your build thread.
  6. links arent working for sure it looks like you've got a couple jammed together, make sure if you're posting multiple pics to put each one on its own text line.
  7. I agree completely. Seeing the near pristine condition some of the cars look to be in at the beginning of the rally and then the full on ass kicked versions of them at the end is great. I totally plan on doing mine in a "beaten up" state. I'm still sifting through the parts boxes for items to use, hope to have a starting WiP pick up by the weekend. Really liking the entries I'm seeing so far. Looking forward to updates.
  8. Very nice. Thank you Pete.
  9. Yes, I'd like to purchase some as well if someone is capable of making some up. I dont have a decent enough printer to try.
  10. Well I have the HRM and the Gunze kit in front of me and for sure HRM is a copy of the Gunze kit. Now Harold made some modifications but it the bodies line up pretty much perfect. Now all the details that Harold put into his kit make the the Gunze kit look basic, but if you add his detail up set to a Gunze kit I think anyone would be hard pressed to tell the two apart.
  11. ERA supplies support/follow vehicles as well as pit crews. In a couple of the videos it shows the ERA crews helping pull stuck cars out of the sand/mud as well a doing rebuilds at the nightly stop overs. I've also seen videos from past races where local shops have spent the night helping racers out by manufacturing/repairing parts. If this link works, a video of some of the ERA support crews helping out some participants.
  12. I've got one of these to do as well over the winter. I was going to do it box stock, but now I'm thinking I might do this fantasy livery I found. I think its the best looking JJ's livery for the Harvick car I've seen yet. Will be watching your progress Ed.
  13. No Ollies or Hobby Lobby in Canada either but I'm lucky enough to live close enough to NY to jump the border and hit both up in Niagara Falls. I've managed to pick up some of all 3 kits at Ollie's for $10 which works out to about $13 CDN/kit. Cant beat that. What's having the Monster logo have to do with Hobby Lobby not carrying the NASCAR kits Mark?
  14. See Mike's pics above or this one for basic sizing.
  15. Thanks Rob. I hadnt gone through that whole build yet....question answered. TYVM.
  16. I'm in. I'll be running a 1965 Shelby GT350R For a # I'll run #98 (pretty sure I got the numbers in the pile for that, if not I'll change but I'll know by end of day) I didnt see it in the rules but if this is there and I missed it, sorry, can you swap out the stock fuel cell for a race one (ie for saftey?) I know the more modern cars run race seats/harness' and roll bars already but I've not seen any pics showing fuel cells. Great theme Rob, thanks for hosting yet again.
  17. Thanks Brian. I figured but thought I'd ask. Another question tho..are we doing #entries? are we doing decals to show the entry#s? would they be assigned or can we just pick a number? I plan on doing decals on mine, the P2P banner and name plates and flags, as seen on the actual participant cars.
  18. Playing catch up here, but does the entry for the P2P have to be an actual past entry or just follow the rules (ie a fictional entry?) Does it have to be from the P2P race only or could it be a car that participated in another of this vintage cross country type rally races? I ask cause I have a build project in mine but the car didnt actually participate in the P2P it was one of the African races. Love the idea by the way.
  19. No, they dont fit perfect. The molds for the chassis are different, not hugely but they are different. With some work you probably can make them fit together. But like Dave said, you're best off to get a Chase kit ( Ollie's has them on sale too, or did recently) if you can find any at your local Ollie's.
  20. I like the looks of the kit and will likely get a couple. I hope they do the Supra both a road car as well as the GT3 version too. I had also expected Tamiya to release a GT3 version of the NSX or a GT500 version of it by now. With the rising of GT3 racing globally I would have expected Tamiya to be releasing more of those style of kits. NSX, Lexus, Nissan GTR, more variants of the AMG, but they seem to be ignoring it, or at least being very quiet about it. Oh well, it's almost 2019, maybe next year. Tho I can't complain, its been a really good year for GT racers so far.
  21. Thought I remember seeing somewhere that the Snappers are based on the '13-14 cars and the glues are based on the '16-17 cars. Just some slight differences to the grills mostly.and some of the chassis bracing on the interiors.
  22. Mark, looking forward to another cool NASCAR wip from you. Check Ollie's. I was there today and picked up some Chase kits for $9.99. They also had some snappers too.
  23. Got a bit of time today. Started on polishing the body. Wet sanded and rubbed out ( still some spots to work on) but getting there. I wanted get a look at the stance. Front suspension is in place and unmodified and at the moment I like how it sits. The rear suspension is not there the wheel is just tucked up in there for looks, so it sits low right now. Next up is getting the engine bay prep'd for the HD RB 26 engine kit. I'm also hoping to get the rear suspension set up tomorrow and the wheels painted.
  24. Proof that I've been trying to get some work done on my Cannonball Run entry. Primed with Gravity Colors 2K white primer and topped off with Gravity's Skyline Midnight Purple followed by automotive 2K clear. Hoping to get some real work done later in the week. Needs to be wet sanded and buffed, just fresh from the booth, for now....proof....
