Very nice Jason. I like it alot. What did you use to do the rear fender flares?
-
You're right, some of the early renders show it with the sharp angle. But in the pic in this link you can see that it is the SS windows with the wrap graphics just giving it the Camaro shape. https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/photo/main-gallery/chase-elliott-hendrick-motorsports-mountain-dew-chevrolet-camaro-15845182/

Ronnie emailed me this afternoon, mine wont ship till next week as he's had a big run on them and needs to cast more, so I'd say they're selling well, pending on how many he cast on the first run. But from the pics, it looks real nice. Just need some decals for the details. I'm going through my left over decals from past NASCAR builds to see what kind of a livery I can come up with for it.

Looks really good...ordered mine this morning. If it ships today I might get it by the weekend.

Will do. I ordered it this morning, so if they manage to ship it out today it might make it to my sister's house by the weekend. If so I should be able to get it on Sunday as I suppose to be going over for a visit. But it was done by a member here and he stated it was a straight swap...posted here in the NASCAR section somewhere below this. I'm heading to the States today to do a HL run and hit up a LHS in Buffalo, hoping he's got some Chase kits left in stock. Now to figure out decals....

Very nicely done Mark. Looks fantastic.

The Camaro was a reworked SS. It's a direct fit to the Chase SS kit. You just have to modify the rear quarter windows to fit or make new ones. The rest is suppose to be a straight swap. Looking at the molding I'd say the Camry body is also off one of the new glue kits, the Fusion since the sides dont looked to be reworked. But that's a guess on my part. Looks like someone took the nose that was already done and graphed it onto a Fusion body. Didnt know they were up, going to order a Camaro body right now.

The brakes are fine....well the detail on them blows, but in the pic, I just have the HD wheels set into the opening in the brakes. The spacer that's included in the kit isnt installed. The car moved likely when I was setting it up for the shot, it's was just to see how I liked the look of the HD wheels. The ones in the pic are for another project, and since I liked the look I ordered another set. I'm hoping to get some painting/building done this week. I havent accomplished much the past two weeks due to a really bad stomach flu.

Canadian Hobby Shops
Jhedir6 replied to Evil Appetite's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you're looking for kits, dont discard ebay or US vendors. With the shipping rates, its pretty much the same price to order a kit from a Canadian vendor as it is to get it from the US.....cheaper in fact many times. If you need airbrush paint, Gravity Colors ships to Canada and Scale Finishes can be ordered from the above mentioned Elm City. In Dundas (Hamilton) is Dundas Valley Hobby, Robin has a really good selection of supplies, you can check her website and contact her on if she'll ship. You're far enough North you're gonna have to pay for shipping unless you travel south. -
I love this kit. I've got one to do in the same blue. As well with the Plamoz detail set and wheels. Will be watching.

It's a bit cheaper if you have an account. I think when I looked at it for me, logged in, it was 46.20ish Euro + 7.80ish shipping, came to 54 Euro....exchanged into Canadian was about $81. Expensive, yes. Super detailed and ultra cool looking yes, still sitting on the fence tho, I knew it would be pricey, but $80 just for the motor is steep. If I was a world class builder and knew putting it in a build would help me win a contest, sure, but alas, I'm not that guy, so $80 to sit in a kit that will be buried ontop of my workbench once completed??? Not sure yet, but I love GT40's so I'm likely to order one.

It's available now. http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p2336_1969-f-gt-40-engine-kit.html

Busy week. Picked up another Tamiya AMG GT3....I'm up to eight now I think. Hit up Hobby Lobby and got another Foose F100, no more discount kits to be had at my "local" one. I also got another cutting mat for my workbench and two more Hobby Zone modules to expand out some more. I also hit up Michael's last night and to my surprise they have a 50% off coupon so picked up a '70 Cuda to do Dan's Trans Am racer (ala JC's build). I also picked up some supplies from the local hobby store, some Walther's solventset, a nice Tamiya fine detail brush and a new pair of sprue cutters, cause mine were just played out. Now I need to stop buying stuff and build.

So I can place my next order with you then?
-
I was back in the US today and hit up the Niagara Falls HL and all the decent clearance items were gone. There was one Bat boat on sale but it was of no interest to me. One thing I did notice is that they have swapped pricing labels on the "newer" kits. The newer kits had what looks like laser printed labels with the price and department on them. Not sure if the older styled labeled kits will be getting marked down next. But the clearance kits I got last week did have the older price gun style labels on them.

If you havent subscribed to Scott's newletter for Elm City I suggest you do. Every Friday you get an email of what's new, on sale and if he's going to be placing an order, ie with Scale Finishes. If you email him, he can order stuff from Jameston for you and then you just get it from him.

Sorry no. The wheels I mocked up actually belong to another project and I had modified them slightly but I like them so much I ordered another set to use on the Porsche. They just arrived on Friday so I need to get them cleaned up and painted. I did not adjust anything on the suspension. I will likely get the interior primed and painted tomorrow and start on the detailing of it in the afternoon. I'm decaling the body and will clear it, along with another project tonight.

Nice. I'll be buying atleast one....or maybe 10...

Fantastic. You're inspiring me to finish mine off.

I was just over in the US last night and hit up HL...before seeing this thread. Picked up the following on clearance: 1- 2016 Revell Corvette C7- $6.75 2- 2016 AMT Camaro (snapper)-$6.75 3- 2013 Revell Mustang Boss 302-$6.90 Unfortunately the last ones of each or I would have picked up more. No other kits kicking around at that price tho.

Ok, so I thought I was bad...I'm up to seven of them....I have some catching up to do.
