That cool about the Macau decals James, let me know when you have some shots of them, I'd like to see. I'll probably do an IMSA car too, RLL #24 likely from the July race with the 4th of July livery. I'll likely do a Turner one at some point too since I have the Z4 in the Turner livery to do yet as well. I think 2018 is going to be a GT year for me. I plan on getting my Ford GTLM done, I'm seriously considering buying myself one of Profil 24's Vantages that was just released, the boat load of AMG's and BMW's I have planned. I've got a Porsche 991 to do for my 24hrs of Daytona build, I still have a Viper GTSR to finish off and BMW Z4 GTD car, a BMW Z4 GTLM car, another Corvette.....and I have a diecast 488 I want to convert...but that'll be late next year. Also, Scale Auto has plans to release a 2016 version of the Audi R8 LM and the Hurrican GT. That looks like my entire year planned out already. Ok, I'm going to shut up now.

So, after yet another push back from Hobby Search to mid November for their shipping of the BMW, I broke down and ordered two more from other distributors. I've got one from M&S Hobbies and the other from Hobby Easy. So hopefully I'll have one of them in hand after the weekend. The one from HK is already en route to Canada and if it clears customs quickly I could see it as early as Monday. I ordered the Castrol decals I want from Patto's Place, so here's hoping they fit well enough. I already plan on doing one OOB since I bought a set of AMG decals to do the 2nd place car from Spa for the same year as the BMW. Not sure yet what I'll do on the third one.

F40 looks amazing Dave. Nicely done.

Inline for me..... I have no vans in my stash and honestly have no interest in them. Obviously there's many that do, but not me. Besides I have all these parts for an inline project I was planing on anyways so a CBP with that theme will work well for me. Winter's coming, things are slowing down around the house, now I need to get back to my Camaro for this years 'Ball.

Just pic an inline Dave, save yourself the worry over whether or not its a van or a sedan.

"Holy Grail" Models?
Jhedir6 replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me it was a Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe, but I know have two, one Gunze and one from HRM. So now, it would be a 1/12 scale Shelby Mustang GT350 from Revell. I know the kit has inaccuracies but I'd convert it to an R code car anyways. Every once in a while one crops up on Ebay but I always seem to miss the ones that go at a decent price, or if the price is right, too many parts are missing or damaged beyond repair. So I keep looking, part of the enjoyment is tracking the right one down. -
This came in yesterday. Its Scale Auto's slot car body of the 991 Porsche 911 GT3 car. I'm using this, with the Fujimi 911 GT3R kit, to do an IMSA Porsche GTLM car. This wont be built till January for the 12th Annual 24hr of Daytona group build on FB. The casting on this is amazing, detail is as good, if not better than Fujimi. I just wish Scale Auto would start doing full plastic kits, their GT line is impressive.

Inline is inline....shouldnt matter which way its going.

I have to agree with Bob..apathy. Revell did a beautiful snapper of the 2015 Raptor with a decent number of parts and really nice chassis detail and I honestly thought they were going to do a full glue kit, since really all they'ad have to add is chassis/suspension mold and maybe a body if they were to do an engine...but the let it go. I too thought Meng was going to do a dually version of the F350 the way the parts were laid out on the trees. I've given up hope that Revell will do a full detailed Mustang, which would make sense since they've done so many since the revamp of the Mustang in '05, but again, they havent. So, following Bob's suggestion I've picked up a New Ray 2016 Shelby GT350 diecast and a RC version of the same car with a plastic body and I'm going to make my own.

TAT 2017-- 2010 Moebius LoneStar
Jhedir6 replied to Jhedir6's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks Jeff. I agree...very nice kit. And I, as well, dont like the instructions at all. It's nice that they show some colour photos of someones WiP but I do not like the directions at all. I'm ok with the itemized directions but some drawings of part locations in close up would be better. But I'm figuring it out. The only other gripe I have atm is, the part number tabs on the trees are so tiny, it's very hard to pick up the actual part numbers. But the quality and engineering of the kit itself is very good. And with 300 parts...lots to keep you busy. Thanks for the tip on the cowl..I'll keep an eye out. -
Originally I was doing a restore on the only Big Rig I've ever built, a Ford Areomax. Unfortunately, the chassis has such a bad warp to it that I cant get out, that I've decided to park it in the yard for now. With that in mind, I decided I needed a new truck. This past week I scored this on Ebay for a really nice price, so we're off.

Nicely done Jonathan. Which one's next? Manage to get any Chevy SS's yet?
-
I use alot of these. I have my pipettes for airbrushing in them. I have one for new ones, and couple more for used ones that I plan on reusing. I also keep my airbrush cleaner in one so I can just draw some out with a pipette while cleaning the brush. I also use the lay's stax containers to hold my skewers for mounting parts. They're the perfect size, allowing just a couple inches of the skewer to stick over top.

Tom, Found these today at a hobby store in Buffalo. Jimmy Flintstone resin. Not a perfect match but, a decent starting point. Let me know.

sorry no, only grabbed it cause it was $8. I may do it over the winter as a quick OOB weekend build.

My haul for today. Moebius Lonestar, scored off Ebay for $65 CDN including shipping. Shelby Mustang diecast as a donor from HL. A Logano Fusion on clearance from HL for $9.30, a FF Civic for $8.35 clearance from HL. Some more Vallejo paints from HL...found some that still had a $2.99 price tag. A R/C Bentley Continental GT3 car....this will get spruced up into a better looking curbside racer. A double back of diecast from Costco for the price of one normally...I'm thinking a 488 GTE car out of the one. And lastly my Scale Finishes order from August.

Thanks Dan. Nice timing. I'm actually just getting ready to head over to the States here shortly. Going to go out with my sister for lunch then hit up a couple Hobby Lobby's in the Niagara Falls area.

Tire decals are from the same Corvette C7R sheet as the IMSA decals. Small update. Livery is pretty much done. I have a few small decals to do on the body yet. I plan to add some more to the tires/wheels yet as well. I havent touched the interior yet, so still lots to do. I had already painted the body before I decided on the IMSA livery so, after I clear I'll need to mask and paint the mirrors red. But for now...
-
Yes, maybe even more so for them. Best engineering I've seen on a kit, ever. Small update, paint is on, Gravity Colors Red Bull F1 Dark Blue Matte. Decals are a mix of parts box and OOB decals. I've decided to make a "fantasy" livery on this one, so I bumped up the car to GTLM class ( these only run in GTD in IMSA atm, no factory team for AMG, tho Riley Motorsports is the lead team in IMSA). I stole the number placards from a Corvette...but its just a fantasy build. For now, I'm here: I should be able to get the rest of the decals on today, then hit it with some clear. More later on. Thanks for looking in.

Looking good Len. Nicely done. Then, you had me at Le Mans race car.
-
Nice Tom. I love the idea you had for this one. I kicked my Camaro to the curb cause I got in the new AMG GT3 so I've been busting on that the last two days. But I got the paint booth cleared out and been spraying today, so I have to spray some red later on, might be a good time to get some on the Camaro chassis too.

You're still welcome to join. Let me know, I'll put your name down, then when we get another to join, you'll be paired off. And for anyone else....it's still open. Post here or PM me and we'll get you paired off with someone....worse case scenario we'll pair you off with Tom....looks like he'll be done tomorrow.

What?WHAT? Bouncing from project to project....dude, totally unheard of....

I know right? Go figure. I ordered a second one from HK, it just got released by Customs so should be here tomorrow. But my BMW from Hobby Search...still showing that they dont have any yet....weird.
