  1. For me, I knew Dave has a pretty big stash of kits, from what he posted in the Pay It Forward threads so I wanted to find something I hadnt seen him post, hoping he didnt have one. Also, when I sent my shipping info to Dave, I told him what I liked and then asked him for his likes and shipping info. He told me what he liked so I tried to find something that fit in those parameters. Turned out I didnt really have anything I felt he'd like or wasn't likely to have so I actually bought a new kit from a US vendor and had it shipped direct to Dave. Cost turns out to be pretty much exactly what it would be to send a kit from the stash plus shipping. Just hoping he hasnt rushed out to buy some of these, cause it's actually a new release. Looking forward to seeing what everyone gets.
  2. Too bad. They look really good. I did a google search and came up with nothing on them. If you ever decide to let a set go, let me know, I'd be interested.
  3. Me too. Love that Cheetah. Its on my list to pick up as well. And his Cobra roadster as well. Just in today, Plamoz Shelby GT500 wheels. These things are beautiful. Almost have everything I need for the build.
  4. Bruce's decals are fine. Yes they're off of sim communities, but they fit and work fine. I used them on my Biffle Fusion kit and there were no major issues with fitment. The only thing that didnt line up were the roof flap outlines since on the slot bodies they're just there with decals. But in my case it wasnt an issue since they car was black anyways, and you really have to look to see the decal lines. You just CAN NOT use regular clears over them, need to use Future or something similar. I've got another set for my C7R that I'm hoping to get started on this weekend, finally. And I just ordered another set yesterday for the new Tamiya AMG GT. So we'll see how they sort out soon.
  5. Tim, Do you have contact info on these guys? I'd love to get a set of them. I've got a GTLM conversion on the go, but I keep putting off working on it till I get some decals in hand. These look pretty nice. Thanks
  6. NuNu or Platz is its own company as far as I know. Pretty sure they mostly do military stuff like Meng. After watching the video I completely agree it looks like Fujimi quality, which is fine by me. The parts look crisp and pretty much flash free. Maybe not as sharp looking as a Tamiya kit, but Tamiya is pretty much the gold standard, not many kits match up to a Tamiya kit. I think NuNu has done a great job on this kit. From what I've seen in Jonathan's video there are only a few things that jump out at me, first the chassis pan, they didnt mold in the jack points...not a big issue since most people with display in on all fours anyway. Second, the wipers are pretty thick looking, but if I remember right I saw a PE set in the detail up set for this kit so if you ordered a PE set, it's not an issue. Lastly, the tires. the staggered tires look terrible. Very unrealistic looking. I'm sure I'll find a set in my parts box to replace them. Other than these few things, I think the kit looks to be a home run. The only other complaint is the time it's taken them to actually get this thing out...its 12 months since they originally stated it would be to market. I hope the kit sells well for them and NuNu decides to do another GT release. No one is doing the current Audi R8 in kit for and I think that would make a perfect runner up to the BMW. There are many teams in the Blancpain and IMSA and WEC running R8s so a kit would be of one would be great. Thanks for the video Jonathan, I still cant believe mine has yet to ship.....totally amazed that Mark at MShobbies in the US has them before the Japanese big distributors. Oh well I've been waiting for a year already another week or so isnt going to kill me. Looking forward to your WiP. David
  7. I agree. This is looking very nice Jonathan. You are a machine between this and your Fusion builds.....you got some child labourers in the back slaving away or what?
  8. Couple deliveries today, First, Corvette C7R display base from Hiroboy. Second box of goodies from Model Builders Warehouse, HRM GT40 wheel/tire set, some Turkey Roasters and a new Daytona Coupe body and accessories from Harold.
  9. Me too. Who'd you get your BMW from? Still waiting on mine to arrive at Hobby Search.... MS Hobbies in AZ has them already but Hobby Search in Asia doesnt? Seems very strange to me. I'd cancel and order from somewhere else but they wont let you cancel a preorder. Been looking forward to this kit for a year, hoping I'm not disappointed.
  10. Latest order from Randy arrived this morning. I too got some parts from Harold of HRM and yep...still some of the best. I can now finish my Daytona Coupe. Thanks Randy, as always, the best. CS is outstanding and he responds to ever email you send him pretty much before you hit send...not sure how he's doing that. I definitely for see more purchase from MBW in my future.
  11. Well people are jumping on this quick, thanks guys. Mine from Dave is already on the way, and Dave's should be in the mail later today. Once you receive your gift please post up a pic of your "present" so we can all see what you'll be working on. Post updates too...doesnt have to be every pic you take and please do a wip if you're so inclinded in the Workbench Section with updates/links here. This is still open to anyone else that would like to join.
  12. These guys carry them too http://www.slotfabrik.com/product_info.php?info=p644_decal-ford-gt-2016-lm--68.html 22 Euro or about 26 US plus shipping. I've not seen anyone else carrying them anywhere. And a link to a gentleman that did a GTLM conversion using the Revell Ford GT kit and the above decals. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=7193874#post7193874 If you can find a cheaper set somewhere please let me know. I've got a conversion for the Ford GT going too and have yet to buy decals.
  13. Ok guys here's the list. iamsuperdan -------swap with ---------Dragline prostreeter69--------swap with--------StockBoresMe 68shortfeet----------swap with---------Modlbldr dave branson-------swap with-------Jhedir6 More are welcome, I'll just add to the list if anyone else would like to join, remember we need pairs. PM your swapie...remember, you can discuss what you like/dislike but it shouldnt be "ok I'll send you an X and you send me a "Y", the kit should be a surprise. And also you can send something the recipient likes or something you would like to see them build given their interests, or you can send them something else. Build it OOB or custom or add aftermarket it's up to you but you HAVE to build what you get. Paint it and detail it how you would normally but OOB is more than acceptable. Kit value, a $20 kit is fine, you can send a more expensive one if you want, but you might not get one of equal value back. Kit's should be new and unstarted. Open is fine. If you have something that the other person as expressed interest in and you think they'd like the kit but its mildly started, ie motor assembled or body painted, check with them before sending that they'd be ok with it. Most of us I am sure can strip a body of paint without too much issues. Please post up progress pics here, more detailed builds in the Workbench sections if you like, with links to this thread might get some more people interested. Timeframe...I havent really set one, I was thinking "winter is coming" and so it's fall now, having them done for spring shouldn't be an issue for anyone since OOB is all we're aiming for. So let's say March 1st? That's basically 4 an a half months. Shipping. Dan and I are the only Canucks, so if anyone has an issue shipping to Canada let me know ASAP and I'll make alterations. You dont have to ship them out tomorrow but soon. Give your swapie an idea of when to expect them. Thanks again to those participating.
  14. A full detailed '15-17 Mustang...pretty please.
  15. I like it. Looking forward to see where this goes.
  16. I was going to suggest the Pro Touring originally but it seems each year there are a number of pro touring builds. But I'd definitely be interested in this as I have an idea already. Since this is a race in America, how about an import only theme? No American muscle. Japanese, British, Aussie, German, could even be a Ford as long as it isnt build in the US. I know, I know, only two suggestions.
  17. Thanks Anthony, that gives us eight. More are always welcome of course. I'll do the list up tomorrow afternoon/early evening.
  18. Thanks Dave. You're definitely welcome. OK guys...need at least one more person to join up so we dont have an odd number of swapies. If you'd like to participate please post up by Sunday or early Monday morning as sometime Monday I'll do the draws.
  19. Doh....my bad, reading too fast... I always forget about Hobby Easy. I've never ordered from them. Though I've looked there a few times.
  20. HUH? When I look at Hobby Search both are showing as not fixed for a release date If you got the PE and kit maybe mine's further down the queue and they're waiting for a second shipment of PE to fill the order.
  21. Oh, I added the PE set to mine and I guess it isnt in at Hobby Search yet then, cause mine still hasnt shipped.
  22. So if anyone still cares. It looks like this should be hitting the major Asian distributors very soon, maybe even this week. There are a couple vendors on Ebay selling them. One is selling his pre-orders and another looks like the actually has a few. Both are priced much more than HLJ or Hobby Search... I didnt look at anyone else as I have a pre-order in with Hobby Search already. Another guy on a FB group I am part of got his today. He got it from a Chinese vendor...my guess is a few fell off a truck. So, since they're seeping out into the world I'm hopeful that mine will ship this upcoming week. They've also added a PE set separate from the kit, PE, seat belt material and CF decals. So should help spruce the kit up some. Now we just need vendors to do some decals... I'm hoping for this
  23. Ok guys, its Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada this weekend, so since Monday is a holiday I'll do the list up Monday and post it up. So, if anyone else out there thinks they'd be interested please post up a reply by Monday morning. We can always add more people after, but would really like to get 10 people at least to kick it off. Thanks and Happy Turkey Day.
  24. I approve of this message.
  25. I deal with Scott too, and yes,hes great to deal with. I'm in a unique position, I have access to a US address, my sister lives 30min away just over the border in the US so I can buy from US vendors or Ebay and save huge on shipping by shipping to her house. I just go over ever couple weeks, get a free pizza on pizza night and pick up my stuff. In return I drop off the few groceries that are cheaper here in Canada then they are in the US. This is what Scott does too...well not my sisters house, he has a US PO box and just gets his shipments shipped there and picks them up for resale in Canada. As of today I have my order in with Jameston. He got back to me today and sent an invoice. Its paid and hopefully will ship quickly. He said the summer sale was a mess and lots of stuff fell through the cracks. So if you're trying to get ahold of him, keep trying, sounds like he's trying to catch up. David
