  1. Well I just ordered the new Kevin Harvick NASCAR Fusion from FreeTime today, and again, amazing service. Ordered at 9:15 am, shipping notice at 3:15pm. Same day turn around again. So nice to see. The last kit I bought off Ebay took them 5 days to pack up and ship, tho it still arrived in the estimated time frame, If you havent tried them, give them a look https://freetimehobbies.com/ The price on the Fusion was the cheapest I came across including Ebay. I just wish shipping to Canada was more reasonable, but thats got nothing to do with the vendors. Great store....someone tell them to open a branch up North of the border please. David
  2. Cale, Go to Crappy Tire and pick up some it'll strip most paints np. Just get a large rectangular tupperware container from the dollar store, deep enough for the model you have, fill it up and drop in the bodies with the bad paint. I just finished striping the paint of a '70 Cuda that's be on for the last 18 or so years and it was completely cleaned off in less than 2 days. And my Super Clean bath is pretty old its almost due for a jug...just waiting for the next sale on SC. Once cleaned, you'll be able to reuse the body, or at the very least, keep it for practice. David
  3. Maybe I am wrong. But the ones in the bag that Brett shows look much much better than the ones on the build up or the ones on the test shot that made the show rounds, if it isnt the same car. It could be just an optical illusion because of the no lettering, but to me, the ones in the kit do look better. I just ordered one of these today and should have it the beginning of next week so I'll be able to tell for myself. You've got them in your hands and that does make a difference, its not always easy to tell from pictures. Anyways, your Chev looks great so far Jay, looking forward to seeing it done. I'm guessing because you added the extra tire decals this one isnt for the box art?
  4. Those tires definitely look a ton better than the blobs that are on the test shots from NNL East and even on the built up kit Revell is displaying. Those things look like bricks. I just ordered mine online, it'll be weeks/months before they hit the stores up here I'm sure, so I opted to pay the extra shipping to get it sooner. Looking forward to getting one of these, they look like Revell has done a nice job on them. Here's hoping they do the different engine details for each manufacturer and also do a Toyota too.
  5. I hope I dont get in trouble for sharing this, but Jay Savarese shared some pics on a FB NASCAR modeling page of the upcoming Chevy SS. Looks like he's doing a build up for Revell. Someone asked about these tires compared to the test shot ones we saw earlier this year from the NNL East pics and Jay says they look good with the body...so Revell must of altered the tires, or the ones from the test shots were a mistake and they didnt have the corrected ones ready on time to display. Tires: Anyways. Kit looks good. Well Jay's an amazing builder, the kit could probably be a lump of slag and Jay would be able to make it look fantastic. I'm not a NASCAR guy, but I've got two on the go now, and will definitely be picking up some of these new ones when they're available. David
  6. Couldnt agree more. Black and blue looks fantastic. Great build Ashman. If I might tho, one small suggestion, blacken out the inside of the exhaust pipes. A small detail, but I think it looks better than the insides being perfectly clean looking. Looking forward to the next build. David
  7. I forgot to mention, I got my Pay It Forward trade from Mr Mopar (Doug) just after Canada Day. Thanks Doug. And thanks to all the others who participated in this. It was a lot of fun to watch the number and variety of kits that traded hands. David
  8. Sorry yes IMC, not MPC.....I worked all night then, went and met the dude to trade....still havent slept yet.
  9. Traded an RC truck I had that I hadnt used in like four years for the following. Testors MKII. IMC MKIV. IMC GT. And 4 Fujimi GT40s. There's another GT in with the small white GT. Half are started half are untouched. I havent inspected them all yet, but I'm happy. Eight new Ford GT40 kits to work on this winter.

  11. Ash, The McLaren looks fantastic....except for the one LITTLE thing... Absolutely one of the best looking cars of all time and Fujimi did a decent job in replicating it.....except for that one LITTLE thing. I have a fix....I'll post up some pics after breakfast with some pics and an explanation, its a pretty easy fix, but depends on how heavily you glued your chassis together. Still looks great tho. The weather is suppose to be humid and rainy here today, so I may get to the Merc...seeing you guys get some work done on yours means I should get back at mine, its been a month now. David
  12. Well as Howard said, you can get the Revell C7R. As for the Mustang you'd have to do a conversion from the Revell snapper. As for the Prototype, maybe Patto's Place will do a slot body...they've got the last gen of DP car, but not the new Cadillac's yet. And as for the BMW M6....there's one coming, Platz has done one, but it was suppose to have been out last October, and has been pushed back monthly since. It's now suppose to be this month....but I've stopped holding my breathe. I've had mine on pre-order since they were announced last August. Thanks for posting pics Howard. I really wanted to go this year, but everyone's away on holidays and I'm covering shifts all weekend. Oh well, maybe next year. David
  13. That happened to me too Bill...more than once. Started on my 1/24 Ford GTLM car only to have Profil 24 produce one. I will finish mine, someday, but it wont be this year now. Way too many projects on the go. Revell did it to me too, with their C7R. Started a conversion with a 1/24 RC car and then they announced theirs. Again, I'll likely finish that one too, but I'll only do the body and use a C7R as a donor for the chassis/motor. Nice work so far JC, as always. I assume the Monogram AAR isnt as accurate as the new Revell Cuda? How bad is it. I've got one of each, but I havent compared them to each other as of yet.
  14. Scored the pair off Ebay this week for $24 CDN total. No shipping, guy lived in the next town over so I just went there tonight to pick them up. Viper is open but complete, decals are probably garbage. Trailer was open but sealed inside.
  15. Picked this up at Michael's while in the city yesterday on errands. Already dove into this kit, the engineering is great.
  16. Looks good Chad. What colour did you use?
  17. Thanks for the replies Steve and Chad. Some more work done. I decided since I wasnt using the Foose wheels, I would pull the Roush motor and use it for something else and go with a more modern engine to match the wheels. I found a 2013 Boss 302 kit I had cannibalized for another project so I figured I'd use the motor for the truck. And since I was using the motor, I thought I'd update the interior as well. I put in the center console as well as the dash from the Mustang. Along with seats and I've started to graft the door panels into kit panels. Still need to tweak the dash some more to get it to fit 100% but we're getting there. I also sanded off the kit wipers and will upgrade to some photo etch or some from the parts box, once I figure out what I like the looks of. And another mock up. I have the day off today, and after I get caught up on my yard work, I'm hoping to get some bench time and get the mods dialed in and some primer started on this one. Still trying to decide on a colour. Thanks for checking in.
  18. And, since I had a bit more time. A couple mock ups. Rolling chassis. And With the body sitting on the chassis. All in all, I'm pretty happy so far. Still needs some minor tweaks, but I love how this kit is flowing together.
  19. Got mine in today, and since I was off all day and it was pouring rain most of the day, I jumped right on this one. The engineering on this kit is amazing. So far everything fits together flawlessly. Chassis is started. I'll paint this all black then detail it up and then add the shocks and steering rack as well as the stabilizers. Engine block started, II'll likely end up plumbing this one out. I hate building anything OOB, there's always something I want to change. And with this kit, its the wheels/tires and brakes. The kit ones are fine, but I want something different. Wheels are from Plamoz, tires are an extra set I had from a Porsche 918 as are the brakes. I'll be using other bits from the 918 as well to give the truck a mix of new and old. Wheels and tires. Brakes. That's all for now. I'm hoping to have time later tonight to get some more prep done, then start shooting paint tomorrow. Comments and criticisms welcome and appreciated.
  20. Got my Foose Ford FD 100 in today. Man what a nice kit. Engineering is fantastic on this thing.
  21. He runs a hobby store in Whitby? Ontario. I'm not sure if he still casts stuff anymore tho. He makes beautiful items. That 333 is on my bucketlist, gorgeous kit. I have his 1/25 Sunoco Camaro, another awesome kit. I got mine years ago as a salvage kit from someone that started it. It needs alot of TLC and some skill to restore, but I'm hoping to be able to someday. Nice score on the Ferrari....I'm jealous. David
  22. I wouldnt hold my breathe Dan. I find that stuff doesnt make it to Canada untill atleast 6-8wks after it hits the shelves in the US. I buy from Dundas Hobbies now and then and he's really good at getting new items as soon as he can, and it's always quite awhile after the US gets theirs. He has to wait for his supplier to get his stock and my guess is that they fill the US shops orders first, then Canada on a later run from the manufacturer. Even with shipping, it will likely cost the same at a hobby store here, as it would to buy it off Ebay or a US store and pay the extra for shipping. Sorry to hi-jack your thread abit, lovely build. I wasnt that into this kit till i saw the unboxing video from Chris and now this.. Looks fantastic. I guessing we'll see alot of these in the coming weeks here.
  23. No worries Mark. You had me thinking I was nuts. And yes, I do know the large grille between the headlights is just a sticker. I did mention I was stealing all your good ideas for these kits right?
  24. Mark, I thought so too, cause in most pics it looks like a sticker. But I think at some tracks they do use mess grills, cause this pic shows what looks like to be mesh, with tape blocking one side. I also have another pic with a band of tape across the middle with gaps at the top and bottom. Sorry, I tried to blow it up more, but if you save it and then look at it in windows pic viewer you can zoom in on it better. Source are pics from the Atlanta race from 2016. More from the same race here, and it looks like most of the cars have a mesh grille http://performance.ford.com/series/stock-car-racing/news/articles/2016/03/gallery--folds-of-honor-quicktrip-500.html
  25. A bit of progress. I adjusted the ride height again, and shortened the front and rear axles. I also opened up the front grill opening in preparation for some mesh in a frame, yet to be made. I also shot a test coat of primer and then blended in the rockers a bit more. Here's a shot of the Patto's Place decals with the background delete. They'll have to be trimmed more but alot easier to work with without the full background wrap. Hoping to get the rest of the body mods finished up today. Thanks for looking in.
