  1. Contact Michael at Scale Productions directly. He just did another run last year and could have some extras lying around. By aluminum card I assume you mean the PE sheet?
  2. I hope they do a couple of each car as well but what I hope they do is offer up some blanks so the aftermarket guys can produce decals sheets. Without decals in the kit, they could lower the kit cost. But who knows. What makes sense to us, doesnt always make sense to companies.
  3. You could be 100% right Tim. I havent seen them in person, its just the feeling I get from the photos. Even if they are too large, I'm sure replacing them with wheels/tires from older kits isnt going to be a problem. How many old NASCAR kits are kicking around. Should be cheap enough to pick up lots for cheap if need be. And you're also right about the decals, they might not look so big with the Goodyear decals on them.
  4. If you save one of the pics where you can see the dash, and then use your photo viewer to zoom in, it looks fairly flat where the gauges would be. I'd guess it will likely be a decal to represent the digital dash. Even if it does have bezels they could easily be sanded off for a scratch built digital display. My understanding is that there will be more to follow. Two fords followed by two GM's then followed by Toyota's near the end of the year. I think it looks pretty good so far. The only thing that really looks off to me are the tires. They seem too tall and too wide. But that might just be an optical illusion from the pics.
  5. This just came in today. I've got a couple detailed builds going, so I absolutely need to start something else cause there's so much room on the bench at the moment. I need a quick and easy build and Tamiya's are usually that, as far as fit and finish goes. Kit will be box stock with the Studio 27 CF decals set. Paint is from Gravity Colors, right now I'm going with McLaren Volcano Orange, it might change, but I think I'm 95% sure this is the colour I'm sticking with. Since I have the day off today I'm going to start on this one right away. Should have body and many components ready for primer in a few hours. Time to start. Thanks for looking in. David
  6. Just in today. New Tamiya NSX kit, its stunning. I've just inspected it and its, well Tamiya. Looks perfect right out of the box. Also Studio 27 CF decal sheet for this car. I need a quick easy build so starting on this one right away since I have the day off today. WiP up shortly.
  7. Finally!!! The R8 has arrived and is being rolled into the garage as of this moment. The tech's are on site and ready to roll and have a clear schedule today to get some work done. Body work and chassis prep to commence immediately.
  8. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with Gravity. I've been using them for awhile now and never had a serious issue like yours. I had one order go missing, but that was a USPS screw up, it made it to Miami then the tracking just stopped. Mate replaced it right away. Not to make excuses for him, but I do know that he gets the paint in from Europe in 1qt. cans and then bottles them, labels them then shrink wraps them for distribution. He could of been waiting for supplies from Europe, but if that is the case he should of told you. My deliveries usually get here in 8-12 days from Florida to Canada. I dont blame you for being angry. I really hope this is not a sign of things to come. I've chatted with Mate on FB numerous times and he's a really good guy, but that aside, customer service is paramount and communicating with your customers about issues should be a no brainer. I really hope this is a one off glitch. Good luck on any future purchases. David
  9. Welcome back Fred. I like the van, but will it be fair? I mean he can cram alot of stuff in there and wont even have to stop......sounds heinke to me. Good news for me. I got an email from Chris from C1 Models and my R8 shipped out last Friday. Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow so I can get some work done on it over the Easter weekend since I'll actually have a couple days off work. Everyone's builds are awesome, looking forward to see more from everyone.
  10. A small update. Working on the chassis ride height. It's almost there. Just need to trim the front of the chassis or maybe sand the inside of the body a small amount to get the chassis to move the last mm or so forward to get the wheels centered. I also decided to open up the trunk and detail the fuel cell area. The inside of the body under the rear deck lid is actually pretty thick, there's going to be a lot of sanding and filing to get the deck lid shaved down to a realistic looking thickness. I'm hoping to have some time later tonight to get some more work done, sanding the body and deck lid are going to take some time. Thanks for looking in. David
  11. Mail man brought me a couple deliveries today. 1. Powerslide tire decals from Mike's 2. Patto's Place decals for my #16 Roush Racing Ford Fusion 3. Gravity Colors paints, new McLaren Mauve Blue and some Ford Guardsman blue. Only thing he forgot to bring was some free time to get some building done.....not sure when that delivery is going to clear Customs.
  12. I'm not a NASCAR guy, even though I'm working on two kits atm. But from those shots above, I must say I think the kits look pretty good. I see lots of updates to the current modern chassis. I think they'll do well for Revell. Plus, since the chassis are the same, it's just a matter of making molds for bodies and decals. Hopefully the do some Chevys and Toyotas go to with the Fords. The aftermarket guys must be happy. They're gonna be able to make lots of decals sheets. Hopefully Revell makes some "blank" kits to like they did in the past. Now, I just wish they'd do a new full Mustang kit, or even some more pick ups with full detail.
  13. Ain't that the truth Jonathan. I preorderd the Platz BMW M6 GT3 last August? when it was put up for pre orders at Hobby Search for October release. It's been pushed back now, what four times? First to Dec. then Feb. then Apr. and now I saw somewhere May. Hopefully I'll get it before the car is no longer being raced by BMW. I'm guessing the new Nascar kits are full detail seeing as they are skill 5 and 7+hrs build time. Good timing. I'm working on a Camry using a 2007 chassis as a donor, might just wait till these drop to finish and see how the new chassis is. Too bad about the Mustang, cool that its there, but I dont get the logic in not producing a full kit too? Kids dont really buy models anymore, their dad's buy them for them and would likely want a detailed version for themselves. I rarely see kids in hobby stores anymore, its always adults, and if there is a kid there, they are with dad. Anyways, I guess the bigwigs at Revell know what they are doing.
  14. Mark, this is a shot of what I think is the most up to date engine I could find for the Toyota's. Not sure of the year but I'm pretty sure the article I saved the pic from was a SEMA display car from 2016, or some other auto show from last year. Should be close enough to make me happy.
  15. Not sure. Probably just the one from the donor kit. I know it wont be 100% accurate but I'll try to update it to a more modern version. Unless of course there is an resin source for more modern Nascar engines. I know I can get a diecast and strip it for parts but its another $50 or so that I'm not sure I want to fork out at this point.
  16. Not sure Mark. I looked at the site tonight and didn't see them, but Mike could very well have them in the pipe. Personally I'd like to see some more Camry decals. Maybe the M&M car for 2015 Championship winner. Just incase Mike sees this. Thanks for the replies guys. Small update. After a crappy week I finally got a day off today and was able to put some time in on the Camry, First I cleaned up the body and removed the flash from the windows and hood. Followed by sanding some of the imperfections on the outside of the body. The inside will need to be thinned around the wheel openings but I'll worry about that once I get the chassis located properly inside the body. I also filled in the jack points on the rockers. Not really knowing, I'm assuming that on some tracks the car sit lower than others so the cut outs are needed where as it seems the larger tracks the cars ride a bit higher and the cut outs aren't needed. Please feel free to correct me on my assumption. I'm in the process of adjusting the chassis to fit inside the body and get the ride height set before I start on any assembly. So here are some test shots. Looking pretty good so far, but I do need to make some more adjustments on the chassis, its not a direct fit, the rear was sanded as well as the very front. Right side. Left side. Front. Its sitting a little off to one side because I still need to massage the rear of the chassis some so it slides up more into the body. And a shot down into the engine bay. No dash yet, Once I get the chassis set where I want I'll put the dash in and figure out where it needs to be trimmed to fit. Still a long ways to go Rear. You can see how its not sitting correctly yet. I still need to tweak the left side so it sits down better. I also got in some detail goodies to add. Photo etch hood pins, seat belt hardware and some material, as well as some wheels and tires. I'm thinking of displaying this with the wheels off, and jacked up in a "pre race" prep state. Not sure yet, but that's the direction I'm leaning to at this point. Sorry, pics are a bit blurry. I took them in the living room and am posting this while binge watching Netflix. I actually have the day off tomorrow too, so I am hoping to get some more progress done. Thanks for tuning in.
  17. Nice JT. I think your airbrush is broken. It seems to turn every colour you spray into orange. How do you do that?
  18. Man, that is an awesome looking wrecker Mark. Nice work mate. Going with a "new" paint job or a rat rod patina? Cant wait to see.
  19. Jeez Dominik.....I didnt even notice that yours was finished. Looks pretty good to me man. Nicely done. My plan is C1 Models Audi R8 Extreme. Chris got backed up with orders and reworking masters and has fallen behind on getting items out. Soon tho, should hopefully ship this week, he's got NNL East coming up in a couple weeks. In a perfect world.... (insert joke here).....it will hopefully looks something like this. But I have a few minor changes in mind to make it more "mine" instead of just another one of Jon Olsson's cars. Looking forward to more everyone. David
  20. #2 just in off the mail truck. And on order, Gravity Colors new McLaren Mauvine Blue. Just waiting for Plamoz to release their upcoming wheel/tire set and PE for this kit.
  21. HAHAHAHA I'm still waiting for my entry to ship. Was suppose to go out at the end of Jan, now April........
  22. Use a sponge and dampen the instructions from the back side of the part stuck to the decal. Make sure the sponge is fairly dry, just wet it enough and hope that it lifts off. If it works dry the decals right away. Maybe??? Just a guess. David
  23. Richard, I use Castrol Super Clean or just Super Clean now. I havent tried Purple Power but I've always had luck with SC. Just dont use IPA, as I'm sure you've read in the other posts. I've never had SC damage resin. I've used it on HRM, MFH, LMM, Studio27 and styrene as well. Good luck. David
  24. I've not see the tax thing before. I generally avoid the GSP cause the shipping charges are usually almost $10 or more higher than the actually shipping from say the US to Canada and I've yet to have Canada Customs slap on duty or HST for a kit or supplies from anywhere in the world. I just bought two kits this week, one from Germany and the other from Japan and neither had any tax added. I'm with Dave, if they want you to pay tax, ask for a tax ID number...sounds like a scam to me. David
