Nice look so far. Where did the wheels/tires come from?

I'm definitely going to enjoy this. My cousin owns one. It was once their pulling truck then restored to street

39 Chevy Delivery - WIP
KWT replied to KWT's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Awesome... Can't wait to see what you do with it. -
Come along for the ride... Not sure which way I want to go at all. I'm googling for some inspiration.

The weather outside is too damp and windy this weekend for me to got to next step on anything I've got started. So what could I possibly do?.. Yep... let's start another... I built a version of this kit long ago. It met a unfortunate end of life, with a lot of my models, when the shelf they were on was knock off the wall... long story... Anyway, I've always wanted to build a second one of these so here we are... I haven't gotten to far into this one yet... just ball parking ideas so far. May go this route... may go box art... who knows Stay tuned....

The weather outside is too damp and windy this weekend for me to got to next step on anything I've got started... so what could I possibly do? Yep... let's start another... I've always wanted to build this kit.. and the 39 Coupe counterpart... so when the announcement of this release and the decals included in this issue, it was a nobrainer. Last night I tore it open to start getting ready. The only mold lines present to the naked eye are down the back corners and right under the windshield... Got those sanded down then started working on fitment. It's hard to tell from the below photo, but I've put a small piece of plastic on the back door frame. This will make sure the door doesn't go too far in. I'm about 95% sure I'm gonna glue the door shut anyway, so this will help aid that also. Here I took the engine components and mocked them up to see what I wanted to do with it.. I may add a bracket to the alternator, but honestly since the hood will be closed after it's finished who knows. Got the frame, axles and radiator glued together. I plan on painting it as a whole unit and pick out some of the details afterwards. The interior is probably going to be mostly body color since you're not going to be able to see much of it anyway, but I decided for a quick mock up to brain storm it regardless. And got the barrels all glued together... I'm not sure how to handle these... I may paint them black, then gradually dry brush lighter colors to get a more realistic look. I have used this technique on bed floors in the past. That was it last night... This morning.... Let's mock it all up.. Yeah, I'm gonna like this I'm sure. Stay tuned...

It's been a few years, but I'm bumping this one back up. Darn shame some of the photos are gone...

I think the satin black is gonna be a good look.. it'll be a contrast and compliment to the other one
