Both AMT. The green one was built 2 years from all original vintage parts. The black one is a 1990s issue built in 1992.

Anybody besides me notice the 1959 issue Deuce Roadster box with modern box proportions? Portent of things to come? The roadster and coupe are long overdue...

Now that is not only a great idea, but super nice execution as well.

It's the same tool as the Keep on Truckin kit.

Round2s modus operandi seems to be less cutting new parts and just dropping in already existing wheels these days. Too bad. Those custom wheel covers would have been very simple to tool up.

Not saying it wont. Those parts disappeared with the Street Rods issue. But my guess is they went away permanently to make room in the tool for the stake bed. And my bet is the stake bed will be included this time too.

Revell Greased Lightning '48 Ford 'Vert
Dave Darby replied to stavanzer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Both. You can build it stock and use the chromies and extra tires for something else. -
My guess is straight reissue of the Lindberg kit with Ala Kart wheels and pad printed tires tossed in and an expanded decal sheet. What you probably wont see are the tire rack, gas cans, concrete blocks, trophy, and fire extinguisher.

I'm not a fan of the movie either, but the really nice chrome reversed wheels and some uber nice white wall tires are worth the price of admission by themselves. Plus you get the stock 48. -

The trim rings are very thin so as to be in scale. The 4 feeds are probably to prevent a short shot. -

Thank for reviving this thread Bernard. Actually the first time I remember seeing it. Lots of inspiration here and also glad it didnt get limited to just Revell Deuces. These have been seen before elsewhere but I think they'll fit in ok here...

Forgot to tell you. If you have Facebook, we have a Box Art Replicas group. You'd be a shoe in for a banner photo.

Nice job on that! I have a scoop from that kit if you need another one.

Not if you want a 59 Imperial. Let's put it another way. New tools cost money. And we live in a shrinking hobby. Fewer people are building model cars, and consequently fewer retailers are carrying them. We almost lost Revell, even Round 2 seems to be tightening their belts. A 59 Imperial, as cool as a subject as it is will not support the investment it would take for a new tool. So if you want one, it is and likely always will be the only game in town. Does it have an engine and detailed chassis? No. But in all other ways it is an excellent representation of of a 59 Imperial. Plus it comes with some terrific authentic period custom parts. It's a winner in my book and I am up for at least two.

amt's tin box version of the 57 chevy
Dave Darby replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think the only thing this kit needs is better rolling stock. Somebody posted this one on the Spotlight Hobbies message board. -
I'm with you Tulio. I grew up on those engines, and I had 3 of them in my garage not so long ago. Plus one in my 57 F100 I used to own. And other than the oil pump feed is perfect. Only thing I'd change is the zip code it lives in.

I was going to say the same thing as Tulio, Tim. Then again, like the man said. "Modeling..."

Looks bombtastic.
