  1. I found that after posting that, guess he's only been there a few years too.
  2. The Lousianna Flooding? I didn't realize he was down there instead of California. That's where he filmed the movie was in and around where he and his family lived there.
  3. OK, that second piece of artwork would be perfect for a Lowrider Van or Pickup! Seems like whenever I wander into THAT part of YouTube, thencomments are always far more interesting, and entertaining, than the actual idiocy that the video is putting out. LOL, very true, kinda surprised one of them hasn't tried to "borrow" scenes from Michael Bay movies that would be well suited to their videos.
  4. The sprue attachment points on the bottom of the body are more of a relic from when the kit was first engineered than this warpage issue is and that has improved over time when new kits get released.
  5. Sorry about sounding nit-picky, but if they were molded in West Chicago, we're a whole different place than the West Side of Chicago.
  6. Yeah, it got pretty miserable here, but I don't know if it got that hot..................although there were times my 200 did feel it was!
  7. West Chicago?! Do you know where? There's a plastic molding facility next street over from where my TruGreen branch office is at!
  8. Looks good, reminds me of John Schneider's Charger when he pulled all of the General Lee stuff off of it to use it in his "Collier and Company, Hot Pursuit!" movie as the Hero Car Traveller
  9. Got my first live customer service call out of the way this evening, it was an easy one too.
  10. Either did I, then when I looked up Mel Brooks, I found that he's now 90!
  11. Bought this last year when I was still at the LHS as well, it's also going into the cubicle, being green and all. So far I've painted the beadlock rings, center caps, lug nuts, and lock cylinders all with a silver paint marker from Pilot, then used some Testors Flat black on the door handles, hood latches, flares, and rockers, but will give this layer a chance to dry then maybe apply some more tomorrow after work. After this, the interior will get a layer of flat tan then a bit of detail painting in there too. Here's how it looked after I did the silver on the rims and lock cylinders. And after I started brushing on the flat black Still got a ways to go, but it's a start, and farther than I've gotten on any kit since I finished that Challenger in 2010!
  12. Yeah, the people mailing that stuff do pre-pay for all that junk mail.
  13. Lol, that's why it's a good thing I never tried to get a job with Portillo's out here, I'd either be even fatter than I already am by way too much, or just get sick of their food
  14. Now if it was only junk mail, would that be a public service?
  15. Thanks, I debadged it and had planned on stealing the filler cap from the Challenger kit that will be donating the mirrors and seats, but it happens to be molded to the kit body, so that won't be happening. Looks like my parting ways with the hobby shop I worked for might actually get me into building the kits I bought while working there!
  16. Building this for one of my cubicle display models for work. Other than rolling stock, it'll be straight out of the box, other than rolling stock, front seats, and mirrors, then painted Lime Ice. The front bumper needs to come down, may have to drill a couple new holes where a front suspension should be.
  17. I cut back months ago for the same reason (although I'm not 40, yet anyway), with this new job though, I might actually start doing more regular builds than I had been doing.
  18. I've very sorry to hear this Harry, but hopefully the Doc was right and they caught it in time! I had a highschool classmate that wasn't so lucky and it took him around 10 years ago, IIRC, he was only around 30y/o at the time.
  19. Finally got around to working on the MPC Bad Company Dodge Van I bought back in December. Got the kit engine and rear axle glued together, partially detrimmed the body, filled the holes for mounting the rear bumper, and modified the AMT '09 Challenger R/T kit wheels and tires to fit it. Next up will be putting together the Revell EasyBuild 392 SRT Challenger seats and prepping the mirrors from that kit to go with the van body.
  20. To b3 honest, I got to the point that I had spent more time wrenching on customers' r/c cars than I spent working on any of mine, plastic, r/c, or 1/1!
  21. I was in retail for just shy of 24 years until my last job came to an end, ended up getting hired at TruGreen as an Outdoor Sales Rep for the last month and now am in the process of switching over to a customer service rep, pay isn't quite as good as the sale rep, but it's less physical work, and still better paying than any of the retail jobs I've had.
  22. Get the '59 Impala kit for the lowering goodies and make a sled out of it!
  23. Best of luck to you there Harry!
  24. I don't know, I'd kinda expect a 2dr coupe that's nearly as big as a mall shuttle to have more interior room than smaller my Chrysler 200 or XJ Cherokee.
  25. Figured I'd start a thread of the models I plan on using as decoration in my cubicle at work and post new ones as they are finished. Gonna start with a pic the Challenger that's already on the desk, although it was taken in the breakroom, due to security regs.
