  1. Saw that beater Beetle again the other day as well as a C4 Vette roadster tonight after work.
  2. I've got one of the Monza kits, planning on reworking it to use a Revell ZR1 kit for all the important stuff.
  3. Ah, wondered if that was a Riv!
  4. That looks cool! What was it?
  5. Read the name on the quarter panel and googled that and Rover Mini, then IMDb'd the movie, sounds fun!
  6. Good Bye Pork Pie
  7. Hope the builder of that Porsche was drug tested or given a mental evaluation once that car was seen!
  8. Wonder how long it will be before the '05 and newer Charger and 300 get that treatment....
  9. Lost interest after seeing a severe lack of Shelby Dodge stuff.
  10. There was a criminal minds where the unsub (played by Agent Skinner from X-Files) was running from the cops after in a XJ Cherokee Sport at the e d of the episode and the stunt driver is throwing the XJ around that was actually pretty believable for one of those and the police finally had to PIT him when they were able to get near the truck, causing it to "roll". Thing is though, they don't show the truck rolling, just moving the camera while it was focused on the actor moving like he flipped it. After they get him out they're standing next to the thing while it's laying on it's side with the belly facing the actors and camera when I notice something that's off about the underside.......it wasn't a XJ! They were standing near the front of the vehicle, where you could clearly see an independant front suspension as well as a not so unibody Jeep floorpan! All 2wd MJ Comanches, XJ Cherokees, and ZJ and WJ Grand Cherokees used a tube axle that had almost all the steering and suspension parts that steered and located the Dana 30 front drive axles welded and/or bolted to it to reduce parts cost and easy variations between the 2wd and 4wd models.
  11. I'd be happy if they just ticketed the ones in dark clothes at night, and walking with traffic instead of against it.
  12. I was thinking leaving the dragster a rear-mid layout as they currently are, then adding a second, matching drivetrain up front that is mounted the same way as the above car. That way it has ballast on the front axle to try and plant the front tires, while the rear should work in a similar manner to the typical rear-mid motor rail.
  13. Actually, all production front drive cars are like that to a lesser degree as are the ProFWD drag cars and purpose built 4wd pulling trucks. The weight sitting forward of the axle helps fight front end lift in the drag cars as well as adds forward ballast to those and the 4wd pullers to keep weight on the front tires so they have traction.
  14. I read that while finding the pics I posted, I just have to wonder how safe that thing's chassis was in general. There isn't much cage around the driver and the whole construction looks too sparse for the power being forced through it, sounds like the front drive shaft ran next to him, with the front diff sitting offset, torque steer would be insanely vicious, I even wonder if the throttle hanging up like it did was do to chassis twist.
  15. Probably had steering knuckles and some sort of u-joints on the front axle, just like any solid axle 4wd truck would have up front.
  16. I don't know Casey, that particular car looks kinda sketchy under the body
  17. Honestly RoadRunner, those two look better than that hacked up Chevy pickup
  18. He's a lucky man Tom, your family doesn't need that on top of your Mother In Law passing!
  19. Snow, slush, damp stuff......that's it.
  20. One of Mom's brother in laws had been there too, but I think for the last show. We then found out just before the Richie Valens movie came out that the pilot was a cousin of her Father's.....her eldest sister (who has since passed on) had to tell everybody since the pilot's last name was their maiden name and didn't want to put the other, younger sister into shock.
  21. Is it me, or does it look like somebody royally screwed upba catamaran build?
  22. And in that lot, it can be brutal this time of year. Last winter was horrible there, nearly froze one night after work on the second coldest day of that winter and found the Jeep wouldn't fire, between the walk to and from the Jeep and the time it took to nearly kill the battery, I was almost hurting!
  23. If that was the case, the owner should have been out by the time I finished at the drive up, things weren't THAT busy around there yesterday........believe me.
