I've got the glow in the dark kit I plan on building with the body and interior over the '70 Coronet chassis and drivetrain......eventually. That will likely end up being one of only 2 General Lees with the flag on it, I may build a normal car from one of my snap kits and "Birthday Episode" car from another snapper, even considered building a replica of the one painted black and driven by none other than George Clooney in one of the episodes of Street Hawk, just to see who I can torque off with it

At this point, I've spent more time looking for those bulbs that it would have taken to swap them both, and put new 5x7 sealed beams in my XJ while I was at it. For now, I may just put in the $30 "Basic" bulb I bought Saturday night for "appearances" in case I got pulled over, or see of one of the guys that works back in the warehouse/production area at work can do so while I'm on the phones tomorrow, then look for LED bulbs once the car is paid off this spring. I don't want to do this any more than I have to, as it requires temporary relocation of the underhood fusebox, and coolant and windshield solvent bottles as well as partial removal of the airbox so the fusebox can be moved there. Otherwise, it involves partial, if not complete removal of the front bumper and grill assemble, partial removal of the fender liners, as well as the headlight assemblies if you want to go overboard and/or do other work on the front of the car while you're at it. With my XJ, just need a couple 5x7 sealed beams, phillips screwdriver, a little light, and preferrably not horrible weather (i.e., no rain, driving snow, frigid cold, ect.) In a relatively safe area.

No problem Craig!

This is the kit, it's actually pretty decent and will include the same decals as the glue kit as well as peel and stick versions for any youn'uns that want to build the car. And before anybody asks or rants (believe me, it's happened), both sheets will include the flag for the roof. If I get the chance, I'll post a link to the pics I posted of the first one I bought a few years ago too.

What happened to automotive "journalism", rant ahead

Chrysler products tend to get trashed by many, my 200 as well. I wasn't too concerned about the older vehicle or Sebring hate that followed the car due to Daimler's budget constrictions when the platforms were originally developed and rental companies buying the absolute cheapest versions they can and then renting them to people who drive them like they're playing GTA. If I were going to look at a Journey, I'd look at the V-6/6-Speed Auto models, with AWD if possible. The V-6/6 Speed is the same as my 200 and what all of the Pre-Pacifica minivans got from '11-'17 and the big Pro-Master van still uses. I wouldn't mind finding another low option 200 or comparable Avenger and put the Journey R/T AWD system under one, just to do it. -
Had a headlight go out on my 200, which will be a pain to swap, but I did find a way that will minimise dismantling the front of the car as well as any jacking up of the car and/or laying on the cold concrete! The real problem though, finding a store with the lights I want, the 2 pack Sylvania Silverstar Ultra #9012, since 1 is $36each while the pair is $46?! The only places that seem to have them on hand are the Advance Autos that used to be Car Quests, and have kept the closed on Sundays hours! Luckily that 1 remaining headlight puts out more light than both headlights on my XJ combined!

Just for the heck of it, I tried the seats from the Revell '13 ZL1 Camaro kit I bought as an engine donor for the Caddy Lowrider in my '76 Gremlin kit, they just fit between the hump and the doors!

Pro Touring chassis donor?
Joe Handley replied to Dirty Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've picked up an AMT 1/25 and Revell/Monogram 1/24Stock Cars as well as a Revell Fox Body Mustang IMSA for donors. The RMX xar will likely end up under a RMX '77 T/A, the IMSA FoxStang will end up under an '88 Shelby Daytona, and the AMT kit will end up under an AMT '75 Matador.......eventually....... -
Another track closing

Kinda funny how the "Run what ya brung" "No Prep" events have been so popular lately too, huh? -
Thanks guys, I'm going to try the paint trick and keep the download and print to decal paper in mind. Tricky part will be that I want to have it look like green denim instead of blue, since I want to paint the car that Model Master Lime Green Metallic Lacquer.

We have a yard of about 2600 sqft, but Dad decided to go and get a riding mower.....and a snow plow attachment since we have as much, if not more pavement than we do lawn.

Well, picked up a Revell ZL1 Camaro for an organ donor, going to swap the engine and trans into one of the Revell Coupe DeVille Lowriders that I plan to build a "Gentleman's Hot Rod" out of about mid day, then got food poisoning that night!

Is there a way to make non denim textured seats look like denim? I'm planning on using different seats in a AMT '76 Gremlin kit, but would like at least a partial denim finish to them.

1969 Dodge “Country Charger” R/T by round2

I actually met the guy who's car was used for measurements at a Mopar show about a year after that whole mess, he was still salty anout having to take the car out of storage without insurance on a cold November day the year before so they could remeasure it. I want to say he said they guys who had to redo their work were a bit salty too. -

Probably, that was also the issue they had where the back half of the body was nearly Palmer levels of bad. -
What did you see on the road today?
Joe Handley replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No pics, but I did see one of the Weinermobiles out in the wild today! -

It's not like there aren't plenty of GL kits to source the decals from, especially with the newer snapper kit coming with both peel and stick as well as waterslide decals. -

Not sure what would be more interesting, the Anti-Flag comments, Pro Flag comments, the "You put the flag in the wrong place, and painted the car the wrong color!!!" comments or the "But that's not the General Lee?!?!?!" comments ...... And as I finished that edit, Extreme Lee owner Kenny Wayne Shepard came on the radio......odd timing there -

It wasn't intended t be a Lee kit, but the original issue did have the flag on the decal sheet and the instructions showed that it was aupposed to be out widthwise across the trunk lid. -
Sacrilege or really cool? Hmmmmm...
Joe Handley replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lose the 93mph limiter and throw some slicks and skinnies on lightweight rims on one of those Bolts, and you could go and play with Musclecars in the Quarter Mile, and probably put a few on the trailer! -

I dig it, with the instant torque offered by electric motors, I can easily get into them and my preferences lean more towards acceleration over sound (the fewer the cues that you're up to something, the better), just lines up better. -
Hey happy new year?My Jeep battery is dead
Joe Handley replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
It's had to find stores that still enforce a return policy like that, let alone consumers who won't pitch a fit over it when they're in the wrong. That's some of why I'm happy not to be in retail any more, besides the near constantly changing scheduling, hours spent walking or standing around, ect. I slent more time than I liked working the Service Desk at the now closed Toy's "R" Us in St. Charles (they closed it and another little TRU 10 years after I left and opened one larger store on Randall Rd, since that is where the shopper were) and that was one of only jobs I hated in that store, the other was working in the "R" Zone (electronics department). I've been accused of "Decimation of Character by a thief, had somebody demand a full refund on a partial return on some Buy One, Get One Free purchases, slot car set returned "because the cars wouldn't stay on the track", taken back stuff from other stores that we also sold and given them more than they paid the other stores back for them..........I'll just stop there, but will say that I preferred cleaning toilets and the fridge in the breakroom to that job. -

Sadly, that's what people want, an appliance, not a car. The sooner autonomous cars get here for those people, the better.
