  1. What about the '66 Batmobile kits?
  2. Probably one and the same.
  3. I've heard that there was supposed to be an Estes buy back of sorts and that Revell had an interested party that would be good for them (hobbiests, not bean counters), but I thought that Horizon looking into what's left was quite interesting. From what I understand, Horizon was founded by ex Hobbico employees that weren't happy with them?!
  4. Well, this is interesting?! https://www.bigsquidrc.com/horizon-hobby-files-bid-to-buy-hobbico/
  5. Seems like things started going downhill at my store after it went through that remodel in '00. Just didn't seem to be as easy to stock the shelves, we lost 2/3 of our store room (and we were already a little store), and we didn't seem to have the selection afterwards as well.
  6. Toys R Us founder dies days after chain's announced shutdown https://www.yahoo.com/newsroom/vibes/us-news/v-ecd5e8af-dc90-3332-9efb-d522bf6b8dfa_c-f205b2ae-39e1-38fe-8993-4adecc7758ae_a-250de6ed-8a34-35fb-8801-011191c37bd2 It's more than just their decisions that killed it, not quite like Hostess where it was likely straight up incompetence mislabeled as excessive costs and lack of sales.
  7. That changed on the early 00's, right before they went from the old isle layout to the current "world" setup.
  8. Sucks to see them go, worked at the store that was in St. Charles, IL back in the 90's.
  9. Could it be the executor of the estate check on things?!
  10. My trip to the Naperville, IL one looked about like that, didn't have the '50 Chevy 3100 p/u, Peppershaker '57 or the Pontiac kits yet. I did pick up a '51 Chevy converible there for $7.50 though!
  11. Those still aren't too bad, thought I heard elsewhere that they were on the hook to Futaba for a couple million!
  12. Wow, that's a bunch of donuts
  13. Did AMT have steelies with their '58 Impala kit? That's the only kit I've ever seen molded in that shade of blue and honestly can't remember if there were steel wheels in the kit!
  14. Oh, something I discovered a couple weeks back in relation to these and the Astro Supreme style wheels is that the tires that come on those wheels are taller than the ones on the Astro lookalike, but are also a direct swap and fit perfectly. Just thought that might be appreciated since it would help with a big and little stance and allows for a better appearance when used on different sized cars.
  15. I picked up the Scenes Unlimited Mopar steelies with the '69-'70 dog dish, I do really like those, same with the Pegasus Chrome Reverse, deep Dish Goon Car wheels and the AMT Chevy Van steelies are nice too, I'm even a fan of the cop steelies and chopped down Truck Rally Wheel centercaps that come on the '05 Impala snapper.
  16. Hope the mold is still viable enough for what you need then!
  17. Not sure to be honest, most of the R/C semi wheels and tires out there are 1/14. RC4wd makes parts, but those are 1/14 like allof Tamiya's are.
  18. Picked up a MPC 1/16 '79 T/A yesterday, then the 2 pack TV Batmobile set and the AMT G50-15 and L60-15 aet today.
  19. https://kotaku.com/you-are-not-looking-at-a-manga-drawing-of-cars-1823638674 Those builds make my head hurt!
  20. Oddly, I've seen 2 different Ford Freestyles in the last 2 days. Rarely saw them when new and the Five Hundred sedans that they shared the platform with is already nearing hen's tooth status around here as well.
  21. Yup, my thoughts here too.
  22. Whoa, where did you find the little Shelby at?!
  23. Seen many a boxes from Fed Ex and UPS that looked like that.....
  24. Dang, guess it was a good thing I picked up the Turbine Car snap kit and promo Rambler Wagon yesterday. Wanted the '59 Dodge he had, but I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on the $95 price he was asking for it.
