  1. This probably going to be a stupid question but what is a Gundam marker ?, I hear of them mentioned a lot in modelling circles, is it just a paint marker?, or like a sharpie permanenet in marker?.
  2. We all know black is not the easiest of colours to get a good finish on.....I was lucky with this one.
  3. Steve, can I ask what you used for the top radiator hose on this one, looks far too authentic to be a kit part.
  4. Nice 65, I have one of those too, it needs some work though. The photo doesn't do the 66 justice to be fair, Ive just stripped the paint off and it looks a 100% better
  5. Couple more arrived for me this week, An AMT 66 annual Ford Mustang cabriolet and a Johan 64 Dodge Polara.
  6. Got these two today, both are rebuilders but all the parts are there. Very happy chap !!
  7. Ive said it so many times before but Im saying it again.....beautiful work Steve, these are top class. On the subject of your outdoor photos, a lot of them are showing a blueish tint on your Flickr page too, I almost thought you were using a blue filter to start with. The inside shots like those of the 65 above really show the detail off a lot better. I so want to start building my 65 300, but until I can source a pair of front seats Im stuck.....and parts for these do not come up very often at all!.
  8. Very nice and clean build, I have thought of using the steel wheels and caps from the 68 Charger kit on mine.
  9. Russ, yes correct the warp after you remove it from the hot water, make sure the twist is corrected by putting it on a flat surface and then straight under a running cold tap that will set the plastic, you have to do all this pretty fast but it does work. Just dont leave it in the hot water for any more than 10-15 seconds otherwise it will go into warp space 9 !! and youll never correct it.
  10. Beautiful work Tulio as always !, I have yet to see your final video on these two (Internet issues!), I love the colours on this one.......now how many 57s do you have in your collection ?
  11. The box for the Satellite and Belvedere is chock full of plastic, that said my Satellite body is as straight as an arrow, the Belvedere had a huge twist to it and I got it replaced by Moebius...however....... Now I know some will say we shouldnt have to do this for a new kit, but I decided to have a go at straightening the warped Belvedere body with hot water and sure enough it worked a treat. I dipped the front end in hot nearly boiling water for 10-15 seconds took it out corrected the warp and put under a cold tap, that body is now also perfect. None of this will help with the shallow panel lines though Lol !!
  12. It can take me ages to finish a model for that reason !, im constantly thinking ...I could paint that like this or that could look better. its not unknown for me to build a model not be 100% happy with it then completely strip and redo it 12 m months down the road! Then again sometimes I just think ...."do you know what that will do".
  13. Very nice !
  14. Looks great, I have to admit I had an older issue of this kit about 20 years ago, which I was going to build but I was so dissapointed with the lack of detail I just made a ratty looking junker out of it. Of course since then Ive learned that the kits molds are 47 years old, and all of a sudden Id like another one to build. Blame Round 2 and there cool old box art! .
  15. Tom this is so true, I know its slightly off topic in this thread, I have some old mint AMT unbuilt kits from the 60s that ive had for a number of years now just waiting till the day I can do them justice. Ok Im only 39 years old but still what am I waiting for?, after my current project Im going to dig out one of those vintage kits out and build it !
  16. Thats a good point Chris I hope it is just that.
  17. I would say its brush painted, a pretty good job if it is, looks smart
  18. Very nice Mark, I built the same kit a few months back and I really enjoyed it, I had some fit issues with the windshield with mine though.
  19. One of my favourite kits of all time is the AMT 62 Chevy Bel Air, I just love that one, closely followed by the newer tooled Revell Tri 5 Chevys.
  20. Looks great, I've got 2 unbuilt kits of these in the stash, they are pretty rare now
  21. Very nice, and that dio just finishes it off, some really neat touches there. I built this model a couple of years ago and had the same problem with the decals they are super fragile!.
  22. Youll love it Colby, its a great kit to build
  23. This is turning into one of my favourite threads so far ! Ive just done a deal on a couple more gluebombs from the states so it will be a couple of weeks before I get them, one is an AMT 64 Buick Riviera and the other is an MPC 67 Olds Toronado, Ive been after a Toronado for years, this one has the custom front and rear tretaments so Ill be needing a few parts.
  24. This one is a 67, it had no hood at all stock or clear, I had a stock hood in my spares stash which I had no idea I had so thats a bonus. The glass unit in this one is welded in with glue but the body is very nice, I have one of the 80s issue MPC street machine Charger kits in the stash that I will use for parts to bring this one back to stock.
