  1. Thanks, I remember when you could buy them on the discount rack at LLoyds & Playtogs for $4.00. If we only knew back then what would sell for today... Thanks Dennis. I don't know about anything great happening here but I'm having some good luck and that's making it fun. Thanks Steve, I was thinking about doing just that but I don't know if I should press my luck. Ok Carl & Topher I'll see what I can do. I did get the front seats painted & foiled today along with the rear seat ashtrays & lights.
  2. I kinda really want to build something like this...
  3. Thanks everyone for all the advice & positive comments. I almost forgot to make rear window cranks so I made a couple of them. I got the rear seat painted and just need to give it a little wash. The front seats are killing me with the bad spots from the old seat belts being glued on so thick. I did manage to get the headrests fixed & painted. It's snowing again so I can't paint but there's plenty more to do.
  4. Thanks Rick! Thanks Rich, I'm trying. Thanks Topher. Great advise, I think I'm gonna have to pin them in now because I forgot to mask off a spot. Oh well, live & learn. Thanks again. Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. Thanks RRR but I'm not sure it's worth all the effort & aggravation sometimes. Thanks for the offer Jeff, I really appreciate it. Hopefully I can find what I want but if I can't I'll definitely keep you in mind.
  5. I got some work done on the interior last night. I know I'm all over the place with this thing, but I get aggravated with one part and move on to the next. I tried some embossing powder for the first time on the interior floor and painted the door panels. Then I got some old wire and squeezed it a little and bent them to make some door handles. Not a lot, but it's progress and I'm happy with the way it's turning out.
  6. I worked on hood & front end a little and got the hood to at least fit. The front valance still needs work but it's getting there. I never liked sanding but I'm really beginning to hate it.?
  7. Thanks Ken!
  8. Thanks Roger, it's slow going but I'm getting there. Thanks Rich, great story. From the late 70s-early 90s we would spend a week selling at Fall Carlisle. The good old days.
  9. Beautiful car. One day, I hope I can make my 70 Charger look half as nice as that.
  10. Great looking mopar! I'm watching for sure!
  11. Looks like the front has the perfect spot for a nice big winch. The rear of the frame might be cut off to look close enough. I'm sure it will look good with whatever you do. I'll be watching!
  12. I got a little paint on the chassis and the front & rear ends in. Worked on the interior too, it doesn't look like I'm getting anything accomplished but I am.
  13. Thanks Håkan, I had heard that the kit was wrong but that's ok, it's not going to be anything accurate anyway. I'll be lucky if it's shelf worthy by the time I'm done with it.
  14. Thanks, I think I'm gonna go with the engine out of the Matador kit if I can find one. Thanks Ken. Thanks Steve. I want to go with the engine out of the Matador kit and try to make it something like Roger Sitzes' Shirley Shahan's Hornet engine. I guess that's the way it's heading, we'll see. Thanks Jeff, I'm trying.
  15. Between the weather and not feeling up to sitting at the bench too long I haven't gotten too much done. Some primer, filling & sanding. I have to make the front & rear dash deeper too. But it's something.
  16. I thought this might be something someone here might want to kitbash or use as parts. I like old pickups, Model A & T Fords or whatever. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.
  17. I had back surgery Wednesday, and last night was the first night I made it through the night without waking up in crazy pain and bothering my poor wife. She's the best, and I don't know what I'd do without her. My whole family is pitching in to help with everything which is great but nothing makes me feel more worthless than having to ask for help. Anyway, I think it's starting to get better.? No walker or cane today so far.?
  18. Mia & Pepper ready to trick or treat a few months ago.
  19. About 15-20 minutes from the original 1969 Woodstock site in NY.☮️
  20. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and compliments. I haven't had much time to do anything more because I've been trying to get things in order around here. I'm going to have surgery on my back on Wednesday, so I'll be out of commission for a while. The good thing is I'll be home for a couple weeks and I should be able to work on this then.
  21. The weather sucks lately and I can't paint, so I started working on the part I hate doing, the interior. I'm trying to push myself to do more than just weathered models so I'm going to try & do a nice interior & paint on this one. I'm using both old & new parts with some scratch building. This is what I've done so far, not much but it's a start.
  22. 12 inches of snow.?
  23. Great job so far. I'm kinda partial to these old Fords, my first car was a 65 Fairlane with a 289. Fun car until I wrecked it. Anyway, nice build, great details, I'm watching for sure.
  24. I've been working on this old glue bomb of a 69 Scrambler. It had 3 layers of paint (brushed on) and the thing is so brittle it keeps breaking apart. I'm using an AMT Pro street 66 Nova chassis. I had to lengthen the frame a little to get the wheelbase right. I need to figure out an engine for it, I really don't want to use the Nova engine. Anyway, this is what I have so far.
  25. Great thread! Here's a couple from the eighties. Pretty rough but I'll still keep um just because.
